We hired Ridgefield to install hardwood in our living room. It had carpet and the rest of the house had hardwood. I read all good reviews so we hired them. Steven came out and measured and got me a quote with a fair price. We hired them and they originally planned 4 days. The first day they had the floor in and stained with our exact pick. They sanded down nice big areas to lay the samples to give us a good idea of the look. They even varnished them. Second day only needed one guy and he did two coats of varnish. Third day he came 7am this morning. He buffed the floor and laid the last coat of varnish. It dried in 2 hours and already walking on it. It looks absolutely amazing. Better then I hoped for. After a great experience with Ridgefield (they made a wood vent for us), I had them come out for a quote to redo both floors of our home, stairs, and add hardwood to a powder room. Our sales rep missed our appointment, however I reached out to them to reschedule. He then showed up 25 minutes late to our rescheduled appointment. I had a few questions for him - simple stuff, like what do they do with our furniture and what stain would you recommend - and every answer was a short and unclear. The next day, I called the office to share my feedback about the appointment and ask if a different sales rep could come out, and this is the response I received from the company: My office informed me this morning of your disappointment in the early stages of the bidding process. I'm very sorry I fell short of our companies expectations. They informed me they gave you a contact name of a company we work with to get another bid. Respectfully, I will be withdrawing our intention to bid and wish you the best with your project. It blows my mind that after I said it was a bad experience but I am still interested in working with them, that they would say they don't want my business. I was calm and fair with my feedback and genuinely shocked by their response. read more

Stay away from this place. Floors may turn out ok but they will destroy the rest of your house and tell you it's "normal". We spent more on drywall repair and paint than we did on the floors. Can't get a return call and they have a bunch of kids unsupervised working in your home. No shortage of flooring companies out there, pick a better one. read more

I had my floors refinished by another company. I showed them pics and explained exactly the color I wanted. Without showing me samples, the company went ahead and stained the floors thebwrong color. In a panic, I called Ridge Field Flooring, and spoke to Jamie. They were on the verge of closing, but allowed me to storm in last minute and help me. Jamie's customer service was excellent. She truly listened to my concerns and dilemma. She immediately got Patrick involved who also listened well and communicated exceptionally. Within a half hour we left the store. I came back the following Monday, and looked at the three samples of stain they custom made for me. I was able to pick one within seconds, I didn't need anytime to think or hesitate. Within fifteen minutes they made the color up for me and I was on my way. They truly listened to be able to create that stain color they did. Ridgefield flooring did an excellent job. The salesman Patrick was quite knowledgeable and was not out to just get the most money out of us he could. We had existing flooring and were trying to determine if we should replace it since we were adding more flooring. He did not try to get us to spend more. He advised that he would not get rid of existing flooring that we had already spent good money on and was still in great shape. He said they would refinish and make it flow with the new flooring and it would look like it was all installed together. And it does! The flooring guys did an excellent job.
