Every home has its own idiosyncrasies, imperfections that force installers to improvise solutions few homeowners can come up with on their own. Epic's installers killed it. Owner Tom stopped by 3x to see how things were going, to answer questions and see if we or his team needed anything. Everything went super smoothly. We especially appreciate installer Louie's advice. I thought I wanted transition pieces where the wood floor met tile. Louie scowled his disapproval and suggested another idea with better aesthetics: With expert workmanship, he and his partner created a clean line between the two surfaces (no transition piece). Beautiful! My idea: circa 1980. Louie's solution: Timeless, classic, elegant. Louie could have stuck with the plan. He gave us something way better. Before starting this project, I thought: I'd really like to patronize a small local business -- even if that meant paying more. Surprisingly, Epic's price came in lower than the big box. We are thrilled with the results and will return to Epic for our next floor project.

Rebuilding the stairs and railings was also part of the project. We chose 4" red oak for main rooms and hickory in the bedrooms. The stairs and railing were rebuilt with oak. His price was competitive, but his knowledge and concern with details is why we chose to work with him. His crew left the work area clean every day. Their dustless strategy kept a significant amount of dust out of the house. This project took weeks to execute, there was a lot of wood to install and finish. As the stairs approached completion the talent and experience shown through. Highly recommend him.

From initial meeting, discussing all possible options, solutions and pricing out whole project, Lukasz was very knowledgeable, up front, detail oriented, polite as well patience. The crew came on time as promised, work every day from 8-5 and left clean job site on daily bases. They installed read oak 3 1/4 wide planks, staircase steps, railing with iron spindles, applied one coat of stain and three coats of high traffic polyurethane. The whole project took less then 2 weeks. Great benefit of using this company is that they offer using dustless system. Steven came out and measured and got me a quote with a fair price. We hired them and they originally planned 4 days. The first day they had the floor in and stained with our exact pick. They sanded down nice big areas to lay the samples to give us a good idea of the look. They even varnished them. Second day only needed one guy and he did two coats of varnish. Third day he came 7am this morning. He buffed the floor and laid the last coat of varnish. It dried in 2 hours and already walking on it. It looks absolutely amazing. Better then I hoped for. Im so glad we hired Ridgefield Flooring.

The bigger furniture couldn't be moved to a different floor. In 2 1/2 days they took everything up by moving furniture back and forth and then replaced the old stuff with luxury vinyl planking. It looks great now and we appreciated Rhema's willingness to be flexible with our situation. TJ made sure we understood what they were able to do with a cement floor that was not ideal to work with and supplied workarounds that were fine. Everybody was professional and friendly and they did their best to keep the mess in check. Highly recommended. The flooring looks great, and the price was definitely reasonable for the work.

First, we had an amazing builder (You're an idiot of you don't have this dude build your house--Keith DuShane/V2 Construction) who was more than willing to honor our request of staying local. I walked into Exceed, met by a very professional staff, who by the end of the project, I now consider friends. I feel sorry for them on that account, but they seem cool with it. Bonnie Cosman is truly awesome to work with, along with Katelyn, and of course Haig and Hawley, the owners. Exceed was there for us every step of the way. They did our, tile, counter tops, hardwood flooring, carpeting, and cabinetry and the coolest master bath sink ever. (Something Haig found on my behalf when he saw my Houzz idea books). Their tile guy is, in the ever-lasting timeless catch phrase that defines my youth and resonates with me on a daily basis, "Too Legit to Quit." Be's ballsout crazy talented. And their wood flooring guy--holy hells bells that guy was sent to Earth to perform for us mere mortals, having been blessed by the God's of Woodworking. His name is Toby. Did I call him Toby Keith behind his back because I have no idea what his last name is? Definitely. Yet, he holds no likeness physically nor social/emotionally to a redneck country singer who may have coined the term 'merica.' But, I digress. I have very specific tastes and ANY idea I came in with regardless if how unhinged it was...Haig's response was. "We'll see if we can make it work. Let me do some research." Some of my ideas didn't pan out because, well, they were ridiculous and I'm sure the staff thought I should have been sent up river to live a lonely life with a pack of wolves, however, they held their tongues on that one, but, I digress. The staff always gave me alternatives and I ended up with a kick ass house and I got to work with kick ass people. Thank God they never actually kicked my ass, although, I'm sure it may have been on their "to-do in my head" list. I appreciated their honesty about their products, as well. The original selection I had for kitchen flooring was batshit expensive, unbeknownst to us, and when the pricing came back...holy balls! (Ya know, if balls were holy). However, they were honest (not the balls...Exceed. Mind out of gutter, folks!) and didn't gloss it over. Haig was equally floored (no pun intended. I'm not great with puns.)at the price and advised me in a different direction...a way to get the same look but with a different product. Each time I came in, they had ALL samples ready in organized piles on their design table, split up by rooms, so I knew exactly what everything looked like. I stayed past closing on many nights, no complaint on their end. There was one snafu about our kids' bathroom, which, honestly, was a communication issue on both of our ends. They tried to meet me half way and we came to a reasonable conclusion. Problem friggin' solved. Exceed and our builder seemed to work well together as well. And they were available to us ANYTIME! My father is a small business owner as well, so I know how important these reviews are, and it is very easy for people to only post negatively because they are in dire need of coffee or alcohol or anger management or Taco Bell.) I don't mince words and I would have no problem leaving a negative review if I had something negative to say. So, I'm not going to mince words here--If you have problems working with these people, you need to do some self-reflection, couch time, a one-way ticket to Shrinksville, whatever floats your proverbial boat. Your family is silently thanking me right now...if you have family...otherwise, just people are thanking me. One additional comment...(maybe...we'll see how off course I'll get)--Your not shopping at Home Depot here people! These are knowledgeable design experts and because you get the benefit of that knowledge inserted in your brain matter, you may just have to pay for it. Gasp! Kevin came out to check on the damage and we thought a couple of boards may need replacing. When the contractor came they did a great job sanding and hand scraping the groves in the boards and found that no boards needed replaced, plus the contractor spent about a half hour color matching the old color, what a great team. Our floor looks better than I ever hoped.

They broke the concrete floor and though they patched it, we were charged extra for their mistake. Most shockingly, they breached open the bedroom windows without asking us and threw out old carpeting from two bedroom windows of our third floor condo. Several senior citizen residents noticed their odd reckless behavior (carpet flying out of the windows into the front of the bldg.) and reported us to the board. We have been penalized. I would think twice before hiring these carpet installers.
