We made an appointment to come meet with her as we were looking forward to Booking our vacation that day we all took time out of our busy schedules as it was very difficult because they are closed weekends We asked Shari if she could recommend some resorts and her response was well there's just so many. I of course had lots of questions naturally since it would be our first time traveling to this destination. She would not answer my questions but very condescendingly said I'm giving you all the information to take home. When we finally got a quote for a very nice resort that we all liked. To our surprise it was a lot more expensive as we had looked up prices online previously. Her solution for us was and I quote "if it's too expensive for you".. You can come home a day early.... so insulting I felt that she could've offered to look into other resorts that were in our budget. Which she did offered to do. But she said... I will not be able to do it today which was disappointing to all of us as we look forward to sealing the deal to our trip that day. Instead she said she would email us more information and said let me walk you to the door. Insinuating she was in a rush. I would not recommend at all

I stayed in an Airbnb with this company. This company is a little unorganized in how they manage…read moretheir properties and cannot take criticism well. I can see from their responses on here that I am not the only one who was blamed for the problems that occurred during our stay. I feel the need to make a thorough review since the response to my review on Airbnb seemed to need clarification on the timeline of when/how things went down. When we arrived, the manager came unexpectedly to take photos of the place before we settled in. No big deal, but thought it was weird that they weren't prepared for us. After the manager left, we noticed the gas was left on and propane tanks were empty on both the fire pit and the grill. We messaged them on Airbnb right away. While we were waiting for a response, we found two propane tanks on the side of the house, so we hooked them up to the grill and fire pit, which is when we noticed the grill was not working. I guess the message about the propane was received (although no response yet at this time) because the manager came back to drop off one tank of propane in which she dropped off by the gate without saying anything. As I saw her car leave, I waved her down to come back because the grill still did not work. She came to look at the grill, and then sent a maintenance person out to us. Thankfully the problem was fixed within 2.5 hours after we checked in. Additionally, the little pool on the property was not clean, the hot tub was low on water (the jets would spray water everywhere unless 3+ people were inside at the same time), and the remote for the light in one of the bedrooms was missing. I know nothing is perfect, I'm a reasonable person. I posted a respectable, honest, and nice review on Airbnb, but simply mentioned the hiccups that occurred. I even left a 4 star review. Their reply was surprisingly petty, blaming us for the problems that occurred. On the public airbnb response, they claimed that me and my guests checked-in early, and if we would have just checked in on time, the problems would have been fixed on time for our check-in. They also said that when the manager came to take photos of the place initially, that's when she discovered the grill was broken. That is not how it went down. She took photos of the grill AFTER I waved her down the second time she came to the place to drop off the propane. The grill took 2.5 hours to fix, and the other details (propane tanks empty, missing remote, low water in hot tub, dirty pool) would have taken quite some time to fix/clean/prepare. Blaming us for "checking in early" is unfair. Whatever problems that occurred would have taken significantly longer than a couple of minutes, especially given the fact that fixing the grill in itself took a few hours. I understand that not everything is perfect, but the fact that they felt the need to blame me and the other guests for checking in early when we literally pulled into the drive way at 2:58-2:59 (check the cameras) is what really got to me. It's not like anything would have changed if we pulled into the driveway a minute or two later. When the manager initially came to take photos, she could have checked the grill, fire pit, pool, etc then, but she just took photos and left. They were simply unprepared, but blamed us for checking in 1-2 mins early as if that would change anything. Judging from their responses, it seems they cannot take criticism well. Criticism is what makes a business better for the future, but they immediately jump to blaming guests which is a shame. Most Airbnb hosts would apologize for the inconvenience, but instead I got blamed for checking in (literally) 1-2 minutes earlier. Edit to add: I was ASKED to leave a google review. Your response still does not address the fact that you actually lied in your response to make you look better. You lied by saying we "checked in early" instead of just saying "we apologize and we will take this into account for the future" like literally every Airbnb host with maturity would do. But instead you blame us for checking in early when actually did not do so. Saying if we checked in 2 mins later would have changed ALL those problems is simply a lie and not true. Your response actually proves my point that you can't take criticism well and are very immature to be owning a business. Please don't blame guests for all of your problems. I've never had an Airbnb NOT apologize for the inconvenience and have never been blamed for checking in 1-2 mins early, which you know is true since you have not addressed that part of my statement. Learn from your mistakes and move on.

Beautiful house, with pool and spa (a separate part of the pool that heats just like a hot tub). Tons of palm trees with really large yard, lots of palm trees. The house has 3 bedrooms nad when sharing with friends it was such a bargain. We thought of staying at some of the hotels but this was so much better. It is close to shopping and the main street in Palm Springs. ANyways we highly recommend it! Excellent value.

During my stay, I felt less like a guest at a RV resort and more like a contestant on a twisted game show called "What Will Get Stolen Next?" My bathing suit disappeared while I stepped into the shower after using the hot tubs. The towel I had brought into the sauna? Snatched. At this point I started wondering if I should chain my flip-flops to the chairs. What really seals the deal is the reaction from staff: a perfect cocktail of indifference and shoulder shrugs. Concerns about theft are met with the enthusiasm of someone being told their parking meter expired. It's almost impressive how deeply they seem to not care. There is an element of theft at Caliente Springs from their own residents. The blond "I dream of Jeanie" looking resident thief stole an expensive item from the sauna uses the tubs every day. I was told by another resident woman she saw this Barbie doll take my towel. Reported the thieving person and nothing. The staff didn't care and completely enables this behavior of theft.

Within the visitor's center is a gift shop with gorgeous Joshua Tree Nat'l Park-inspired clothing and products. I recommend purchasing merch here since a portion of proceeds go back to the parks. The souvenirs are also much more affordable than privately-owned gift shops nearby. I bought a pin ($7) and a Travel Stamp sticker ($3.99). The office staff are also very knowledgeable about the area. The young man I spoke to highlighted the areas I asked about - see photo for highlighted map. I wanted short 1-mile hikes along with Heart Rock & Arch Rock. 5/5 stars for service! The restrooms inside are clean and there are also portapotties in the parking lot with outdoor sinks available. Their parking lot is small, but there's plenty of street parking. The entrance to the national park is really close by as well.

We didn't have time to visit the park itself, so took the opportunity to learn a bit more about the park from displays and presentations. As I learned, it is crowded inside (shoulder to shoulder). There is a dedicated parking lot, along with street parking, and a small gift shop. My wife's mom ended up buying a tote bag (or two) to take back home. We didn't get to go inside the park this time, but was able to see plenty of Joshua trees real close, which are only endemic to this area.

I stayed here because of the convenient location near Joshua Tree National Park, but unfortunately,…read morethere were several issues with the property that made the stay disappointing. The floors did not appear to have been thoroughly cleaned. The closet in the main bedroom was dusty, had dead crickets on the floor, and contained random pieces of furniture that made the space feel poorly maintained. The bathroom flooring was also peeling/coming up in areas due to water damage. While some wear and tear is understandable with an older property, the condition was unpleasant to look at and gave the bathroom a neglected appearance. There were also barely any trash bags provided for our stay. I eventually found additional bags underneath the kitchen sink, but there is an active leak underneath the sink that appears to have been neglected. The trash bags were wet and had a strong mold/mildew smell from being stored in that area. That is particularly concerning when you're providing supplies to guests. The biggest concern was the condition of the pool. The pool surface is extremely eroded, particularly around the stairs. My kids scraped themselves simply going up and down the pool stairs, and I experienced the same issue. This is a safety concern and should be addressed rather than treated as normal wear and tear. The outdoor furniture also needs significant attention. Some of the lounge furniture is ripped, discolored, or rusting. The umbrellas provided for shade were broken and had to be propped up against the gate surrounding the pool, which is hardly an acceptable setup for guests. Security was another concern. The property does not feel particularly secure because people from the street can seemingly walk directly into the compound. There is also a café within the same complex, so people who are not hotel guests can enter the property area. I would have expected better control over access to a hotel property. The main positives were the location, which is very convenient for visiting Joshua Tree National Park, and the fact that the pool does not appear to have restricted hours. Unfortunately, those positives do not outweigh the cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and security issues I experienced. The property has potential, but it needs significant upkeep and attention before I would consider staying here again.
