After seeing "no cars available" we panicked, and was referred to Lucky 777 Cab. They were exceptionally kind and understanding and made the ride happen! He calculated the cost, took down my credit card information, and texted a receipt assuring we would make our flight on time. I preferred this as a few others we called were very shady and were quoting nearly double the cost in cash only. While some may not prefer giving a credit card over the phone, it was reassuring that his driver would actually be here. That being said, we were greeted by the nicest driver (cannot remember his name), and provided a safe and comfortable drive to the airport. He turned his meter on as well, which was reaffirming of the price paid. Thank you so much for making our fabulous trip to Yucca Valley complete! Kelley

Firstly, Road Runner and 4 Aces cab company work under the same dispatch so they had us communicating with both which was very confusing. I would never recommend either after our horrific experience last weekend. At our initial pickup the driver was over 20 minutes late and we missed our dinner reservation. He also didn't have a car that suited our party. He subbed out a van that did not fit all five of us with seatbelts. And when we expressed our concern to the driver himself, he laughed and said good luck getting an Uber. We had had some wine at dinner otherwise we would have driven ourselves. After dinner at our second pickup they instead sent two cars but one of the drivers was completely unsafe speeding and smelled of alcohol. We called and asked for another driver for our final destination which they could not provide so we had to find additional transportation that cost us an added out of pocket expense. This is not a dependable or safe service. I would never use again.

My husband couldn't take me because he had school and I am not able to drive myself due to severe mobility issues. I looked at possibly doing Uber but there were a lot of references to unreliability. I saw the Rides site and read their reviews and decided they would be the one. I called Jennifer and she was amazing. Stayed in contact, got my ride set up and answered all my neurotic questions . Today was the day. Chatel came to pick me up (she was early and ready to go). What an amazing person. Constantly attentive, helped me in and out of the car and helped me get up and down out of chairs at my appointments. Throughout the trip she made sure I was okay and I felt like I was being cared for by a friend. Got me to both appointments on time. Made a situation that was difficult much easier. I am so grateful for Rides, Jennifer and Chatel. Will absolutely use their service again.

Not only is Rock a good hang, but he's also a good guy. We felt so safe knowing he was waiting for us (hard to get Uber and taxis out there because cell service and wifi are super spotty), so knowing Rock was outside when we would leave a bar - that really counts for something. Also, his prices were super reasonable and easy to pay, etc. (when you've been drinking, ease matters!) Will be using Rock for all my J Tree adventures and have already recommended him to mates going out there next weekend. Thanks Rock! Kell

Our driver was always early to pick us up and had no problem dealing with our loud party group! They had trash bags for our empty cups and even drove us through Del Taco on our way back to our resort. A+ for customer service. The best thing about taking Xpress shuttles is not having to wait in the line for an uber\lyft. We waited 2.5 hour after the show for an Uber. It was a horrible experience sitting in the cold at 1 am. If you're going to stagecoach/Coachella it's a no brained to use Xpress. Thank you Xpress!!

I have never heard of Daniel Popper, but as we approached this unique spot it was nice to see what it's all about. It signifies the connection from earth and the sky. There's no access to get close to the sculpture since it's nestled in a private residence, but a small trail will lead you to it from the parking area. Still a great background picture to take from a distance. When driving there, it can get a little rough on the off road. I was able to drive slowly with my compact car, but at the same time had anxiety hoping none of my tires would pop due to all the rocks on the dirt road. I made it through and I'm so glad we were able to see the amazing sculpture. It's worth the drive.

If you're a Joshua Tree regular like me, consider this your official desert bucket list item:…read moreDaniel Popper's TRANSMISSION. This isn't just some random roadside "big thing"--it's a colossal, soul-stirring installation that looks like it crash-landed from another galaxy and decided to set up shop on Joshua Tree's sands. Now, let's get real about logistics. Yes, it's a little trek: five miles of paved road on Sunfair followed by one mile of maintained dirt road that's surprisingly civilized (for the desert, anyway). But come on, if your tires don't eat a little sand dust, did you even go to Joshua Tree? And trust me, when this giant beauty looms up like a mystical desert monolith, you'll forget all about the bumps in the road and start wondering if you should have packed an offering. Popper has this magic trick of making art that's both massive and meditative. TRANSMISSION feels ancient, cosmic, and perfectly at home in the desert's eerie silence--like it's been swapping secrets with the Milky Way for centuries. Standing in front of it makes you feel tiny in the best, "oh wow, my problems are microscopic" kind of way. What doesn't feel cosmic? The fact that some enlightened souls decided to graffiti the info board. Really? If scribbling your name on an art installation's plaque is your idea of self-expression, maybe just... stay home. Or, I don't know, go swim in holy water until the urge passes. This piece deserves reverence, not Sharpie doodles. Bottom line: if you love art, road trips, and things that make you feel gloriously insignificant under the desert sky--go. Bring water, bring a camera, bring your sense of awe. TRANSMISSION isn't just a sculpture; it's a pilgrimage. Totally worth the drive even if you visit it just once. P.S: Closer to sunset visits are the best, as you'll get to enjoy this beauty but also the ever changing hues of the open desert. Cheers!

I don't know much about astronomy and figured this tour would help point out some constellations for us. It was SO much more, full of Tony's impassioned stories from different cultures about the stars . His enthusiasm is contagious and knowledge is impressive. The tour is totally unscripted yet packed with great stories and just the right amount of interaction. It is a great and inspiring story how the business was developed. They offer drinks and snacks as well as blankets and gravity chairs, with flameless candles lighting where to step. The two other highlights for us were the UFO military grade goggles that make the stars and planets pop as they did for our ancestors, prior to light pollution. The equipment is clearly state of the art. The slow exposure portrait Tony takes at the end is absolutely beautiful and frameable. I left wanting to do further research on the stars, and would repeat these tours again for sure.
