    Carpet creasing in master bedroom.
    Deena M.

We had carpet installed three years ago before we moved into our house. Why the installation took 14 hours for one staircase and three bedrooms with no furniture to move, I'll never know. The carpet was installed a week before we moved in. The furniture was put in and before the end of year 2, the carpet started to bunch up in places. This did not occur because we moved furniture around. The furniture is where it was placed on moving day. After doing some online research, I learned that carpet only creases if furniture is moved a lot (no), if the carpet is damaged by something like a flood or high humidity in the house (no) or simply due to poor installation. The only way to make this right is by having it tightened. This is the 4th time I've had carpet installed and the second job by Rick's. I wish I could rip it all out and have someone else redo it. I see the crease in the master bedroom getting bigger over time. Not a good job and even more disappointing that it seems to be happening in other places.

The contractor left about 10 minutes ago, and they did a great job installing carpet! Rick's was very responsive the whole time, and it felt like good value to me and good customer service.

Completely unethical. Be sure to *thoroughly* read the "contract" (job estimate) before you agree to *anything* with these guys.

Great experience. We got a great price (discount) and they installed our floors really quickly. It was very surprisingly easy.

I inspected the final product today and did not have a single change or complaint. In fact, I hired them to paint our whole home. You can trust their workmanship. The team members were professional, responsive to our concerns and delirvered to our expectations. No delays, no additional cost or changes, no surprises.

They were late 2 out of 3 days without notifying me, and the job felt rushed. Yusef promised me a $500 discount. Later, he denied ever making the offer, and the manager attempted to reduce it to $100. The manager also implied that only his word matters, using an example meant to justify why the original agreement shouldn't count. Customers shouldn't have to figure out which employees have "authority" -- if an employee makes a promise on behalf of the company, the company should honor it. Something I learned after the fact -- and wish I'd known before signing -- is that in many flooring companies, salespeople work on commission, sometimes 5-15% of the total sale. Managers may also receive a commission override. Installation crews are typically paid a set rate or per-square-foot amount, which means the company's actual cost is often much lower than the customer price. In these setups, discounts sometimes come out of the salesperson's commission, which could explain why I received pushback on the agreed $500. I'm not claiming to know this company's exact pay structure, but it's worth consumers being aware of how this industry often works so they can make fully informed decisions. I ultimately received the correct discount, but only after unnecessary back-and-forth, unprofessional behavior, and an attempt to undermine my honesty. I cannot recommend this company to anyone who values clear communication and integrity.

It truly is like going to an art gallery! The carpets are outstanding quality and range from antique to modern. The Nasseri's were so helpful and patient as I made a decision. I walked out with 2 beautiful carpets at a very reasonable price given their high quality. I highly recommend Art Underfoot and wish I had room for more of their carpets!

Nabi was right in line with the others on price, though there was another place that would have been cheaper had we been willing to deliver the rug to their plant. We didn't really want to do that, so that discount was immaterial. Nabi worked with me on scheduling a pickup that was very convenient. The two guys who showed up were friendly and professional, and gave me some good information about how much the repairs to the torn fringe corners would be. He noticed we had no pad under the rug, and had no trouble talking me into buying a rug pad -- thankfully, I had already done research on rug pads, and knew the one he was offering me was high quality and an excellent price. Easy sale :-) The cleaning took a little less than a week, and the repair took only a few days. For the return of the rug, once again it was at my convenience. The friendly folks who brought back the rug placed the pad and the carpet where I wanted them, and were pleased that we were pleased. I was beginning to think that there weren't any places left that took pride in their work and were good to their customers. But Art Underfoot has restored some of my faith in local business!
