Nail

Rusty nail in my food. Absolutely shocked. Everything was going well and then I went to grab a French fry and seen the nail. The wait staff seemed un phased and even went as far as to say "we have heard of customers putting nails in the food" making it seem like we would do this. Still in shock and in awe on how we were treated. We went out to dinner as a family and we're looking forward to our first time at the place we drive by every weekend

This place is a lot different than I remember. The ordering system is WEIRD. Sure during Covid we all got used to QR code menus, but you have to submit the order yourself, food didn't come out at the same time, someone different brings each item, they don't accept cash, and they include an 18% service fee and still want me to leave a tip. Once we paid on our phones we still needed a box for our leftovers, but since no one checks on you, I had to get up and find one myself. That being said, the Bloody Mary was yummy. And the pulled pork nachos were HUGE. I'd go back just for those. Plus, the kids meal comes with a frisbee and a free gaming card for the arcade next door

I'd say this would be more like 3ish star review, but Rick's Cafe totally does not deserve to be 2.5 starts on Yelp. First off, Rick's is under new ownership with a revamped menu and beverage program. Their menu has something for everyone, and (ridiculously) large portions of food. Seriously - an order of nachos was the biggest entree I've ever seen served in a restaurant. Starting with the location, Rick's cannot be beat. It's on the tip of the lake facing the sunset and it's really pleasant. We sat outside and witnessed one of the most beautiful sunsets of the summer. The service was pretty good, a lot of young kids with summer jobs. We had the spicy watermelon margarita, nachos (HUGE), the lobster BLT, fried scallops, and the Roulette 22. Everything was decent, nothing in particular was a standout. Try to look beyond the star rating of Rick's because it really has undergone a revamp. A decent place to have dinner with a nice ambiance and huge potions.

Summer Salad, $21 for a salad full of quinoa and a chicken breast that was filet in 1/2.

Wow ... this place has a great view of lake sebago. But that's not worth the price to eat here. $96 for 2 draft beers, one martini, an appetizer, a salad and a sandwich. $8.50 Beer $12.50 for a draft beer Maine Beer Co, (Lunch) $21.00 for a salad w/ chicken $14.00 buff chicken dip $17.00 Ruben $15 martini WTF ... the salad was so full of quinoa there wasn't room for anything else. Which is ironic considering we were here about 6 weeks ago and the salad was absolutely great. I'm all for paying for good food, but they lack consistency in the kitchen to say the least. Service was slow, but our waitress was friendly and upbeat. Which given the lake environment can be a challenge this time of year. This time around they missed the mark on food quality. But they will still make money given their proximity to the lake.

The QR code based ordering system is ridiculous. We do not want to serve ourselves at a restaurant. I truly hope this changes.

Gemini Cafe & Bakery

From the moment you walk into Gemini, you know you're in for something special. This bakery-café…read morehas quickly become one of my favorite destinations I'd happily drive hours just to visit again. The breads and pastries here are absolutely outstanding. Their Anadama bread was rich and flavorful, with a perfect crust and texture that kept me coming back for more, and the sourdough bagels were simply too good to pass up ; crisp outside, chewy inside, and full of character. Every bite feels like a celebration: flaky pastries, artisanal naturally leavened bread, and thoughtful flavor combinations that make it a true bakery destination. The coffee pairs beautifully with the baked goods -- and they even sell locally roasted coffee from a woman-owned roaster in nearby Greenwood, which adds a wonderful Maine-made touch to the experience. Service is warm and friendly, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes you want to sit down with a latte and savor every last bite. If you ever find yourself in Bethel, this gem of a bakery is absolutely worth the trip -- it's one of those places that leaves you already planning your next visit.

Having a condo down the street, we love coming in for lattes. Always amazing…read more I will say my 1 big complaint is you have so many things with Almonds. We have a lot of tree nut allergies in the family and wish there were options with no tree nuts. Place is super cute, staff is always friendly, just so many items with tree nuts.
