Louie from Richmond Lock and Key fixed a lock that was previously fixed by Ash at Advance Lock and Key which started to stick after a month of use. Louie found the sticking lock to be used and rusted on the inside ( see photos below). Louie replaced the rusted lock with a brand new just opened out of the plastic lock.He showed me the difference between the new lock he put in and what Advance put in. He did a wonderful job and even checked my other locks to make sure they were in good condition. My new lock from Richmond Lock and Key works very smoothly without any issues! Thank you, Louie for a job well done!!!! read more

My husband and I went out to run errands on a hotter then hell day and when we got home and tried to open the back door to go in the bottom lock just broke completely and neither of us had the key for the front door! So I quickly hopped on yelp and looked at who was close and found Richmond lock & key. When I called they said could 30-45mins or sooner. And we prepared ourselves for a long wait in the heat under the shade of our porch. Louie came in like 10-15mins, had the door open in like 5 secs, and changed out the lock completely so fast! We couldn't have been happier and I highly recommend them. Fast, friendly, efficient! They are now our go to for any key & lock needs! So grateful! read more

Fantastic work! After buying a house we had problems with storm doors that started from the previous owners. The thumblock was getting jammed and hitting the front door. We went to 3 other locksmiths and they couldn't do anything except oil our locks and tighten the screws. Louie came and fixed the problem in 30 minutes. He told me the prices before doing anything and offered suggestions for some other problems I asked about. They were great! read more

** Fair, Honest, Professional ** Lost our car keys the day after Thanksgiving, just hours before having to get to a family wedding! Mike and his team were out as soon as possible. In the meantime, we found our keys and waved him off. Of course, we compensated him for his time, but he was generous enough to give us the key he had cut at a significantly discounted rate. Not how we intended to spend our money on Black Friday, but really glad we supported this local business! read more

I needed a key remote/lock for my Kia Sorento I had previously gone to a local car & tire place that took 2 weeks to get the part, when it was in they notified me told me they would program it to come down before closing 4;00 I got there by 3:00 ,when I got there the manager treated me very rudely as soon as I walked in took my receipt and threw it down and instead of looking at it and doing his job asked ME what it was, they told me to leave my car because it would take TWO HOURS, to program the part. They never mentioned that on the phone, I went there this morning when they opened and was told the same to leave my car for 2-3 hrs. I was treated the same way by the same person. My hubby called this place Richmond Lock & key in the meantime,They were nothing but helpful, polite on the phone, polite when I got here and very helpful. It only took exactly 5 minutes to program. I highly recommend this place! Highly recommend these people,They know their work and are professional. L.Gambino Staten Island New York read more

I needed a smart key made for my Prius. Other locksmiths on the island said they could not make it and I would have to go to the dealer and they wanted over $500 to get a duplicate made. Thankfully one of the locksmiths I called actually recommended I give Richmond Lock and Key a call. They had to special order they key from Toyota, but once it came in they had the key programmed and ready to go in 15 minutes. True professionals, and they charged a fair price, much less than the dealer wanted. I highly recommend them, and will be coming back for any time I need a locksmith. read more
