I was originally proud of thinking of this local, small business as a quick stop to pick up cards or a comic for my son- which he has already asked to back this am- one day after first going. So my original thought was true, but then I became hooked after perusing the Game of Thrones comic book series. And then after talking about how covid delayed the reprint of the 1982 French comic book Le Transperceneige (original content source for the 2013 movie and 2020 tv series snowpiercer) - I know I will be back when that becomes available. I have to say that Andrew went above and beyond to make it a positive experience for us stopping in and instead of just telling us he couldn't play/ wasn't able based off his level and skill, Andrew turned it into a learning opportunity to have my son understand the tournament game rules, watch matches and providing my son and friends a space to play/practice with the game . My son struggles with social settings and social/emotional norms often and tends to self isolate, You have no clue how much that kindness was so very appreciated . He was very knowledgeable and honest on discussing prices and generally just talking about Magic and Pokemon trends over the last few years. I ended up taking some in the form of store credit, and he is going to go out of his way to look for certain singles I was asking about that he didn't have in stock at the moment. Great customer service, and friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend The Stronghold to anyone looking to buy or sell cards or collectibles.

I've pretty much depleted my decades long accumulation of baseball cards so now I'm into selling off my football cards. I walked into DJ's Comics and Cards to sell six vintage New York Giants cards from the late 1950's and early 1960's. I had done my pricing research, and after correcting for condition and selling to a retailer, I had an idea what to ask for. He offered me $5 less than my assesment, so I countered with his cash offer plus $5 in store credit and that clinched the deal. I ended up using the store credit toward buying a Tom Brady and a Kobe Bryant card for my grandson. DJ's made me a very fair offer and we were both satisfied with the outcome. The store has quite a bit more comics than cards, but I sure enjoyed looking at the shopwcases and rummaging through the commons boxes.

If you want to air out grievances here on this public forum, I can gladly do so. Why don't you talk about how miserable you are and how it reflects in your customer service? A few other reviewers seem to have the same thoughts about that. When someone walks in the door it's a toss up if you'll get Harvey or Two-Face. Most of the time it's the latter. Or should we discuss how you put RFK Jr. campaign flyers in your customers' bags and then badger them about his policies? Or how a simple question about moving turns into a political debate with you? How about how you allow a gaggle of idiots to stand around your store cursing while children are present as you laugh along? And the only reason you stopped was because your wife said something to you? Would you like me to continue?

I can tell you that this store is huge, neatly set up, and boasts an ungodly amount of comics, collectibles, figurines, toys, games, cards, books, posters (check out the very foxy Supergirl) across the pop culture spectrum of movies, television, comic books, super heroes & villains. They even have a small sports card section, so every branch of the Nerd Tree is represented here! They don't have a website, but have a Facebook page on their business card, which I included as a photo.

I then bought another 18 comic book full set for $15 and with 2 missing books (that was clearly marked as missing) and I found the other 2 online, so now I have the full set, and it only cost me $24 in all - you can't beat these prices. I'm not looking for comic books that are in perfect condition, although, most that I have received are in great condition and inside protective sleeves. I'm 54 years young and enjoying being able to buy full sets of of the classics. Great store, and I can't wait to buy my next full series.
