I got the biggest pie they offer and I ate half of it because it tasted so good. I will go there every time I'm in Dothan as a must. I read the others reviews on when this outstanding location is open and when they aren't. I will say this in their defense; this is a privately owned location and serves the best Pizza in the entire state of Alabama (in my opinion). For some reason people think it's a right when someone is open or closed. This business has it down right and controls their schedule. First of all, I have to say that this is not the typical 'run of the mill' restaurant that you would expect from a small city/town like Dothan. As soon as you walk in, you'll be blown away by all the decor and pictures on the walls. The place is kept magnificently clean and the staff are extremely friendly. And while I don't personally know the owner, Richie.. if you ever get the chance to talk to him, you'll immediately pick up the 'no-nonsense this is how it's going to be' type of vibe from him.. which I say in a good way. I can see how some people would perceive him as being rude as a couple reviews have mentioned, but I can guarantee you he's a great friendly guy.. some people just haven't been exposed to his type of personality, which is not typical down south.. or some people just have insecurity issues and find his personality over powering.. As for the food.. Richie B's has the best New York style pizza you'll find within a 100 mile radius.. and the size of their slices in nothing to joke about! As for the cheese steaks.. it's definately in the top 3 that I've ever had.. The amount of meat they put in their sandwiches is ridiculous! The portions of their items would definately put up a challenge for those with the hardiest of appetites. Then to make the deal even sweeter.. the prices are very reasonable. The only complaint I have about this place are the hours. They close at 5pm.. so if you want to eat here for dinner.. you better get there early! What can I say? Pizza reminds me of back home and the eggplant parm was perfect. Not sliced too thick or masked under gobs of cheese and sauce. The bread was soft but since I'm not a bread guy, I didn't eat it. Even the prosciutto and cheese stuffed cherry peppers were on point. The only downside was they were out of cannoli but Richie came around the counter and hooked me up with the filling and pieces of the shell. That's what I call customer service. It just sucks that I leave tomorrow to go back home but next time I'm up in the area, I will definitely be passing by and hopefully getting a full cannoli. Went here for lunch, got a slice of the pepperoni and pineapple. The slice was pretty much double the size of my face and it was legit. Don't try to take the grease off or you're gonna get judged by Richie B! This place is cool, it's small but has a lot of character. If Richie B looks familiar to you its probably because he's actually a Hollywood star! He played Conan the barbarian which I thought was pretty cool. He also comes out and talks to all the restaurant guests. Check out the pictures of his rare Dodge Viper which you will also recognize from Forza! I had the cheesesteak and although I've never had an authentic Philly cheesesteak, I have to say Richie B's is the best I've ever had. Awesome place for some good, no, no for some great pizza just like New York! My fiance and I ordered the 18" cheese pizza. It was delicious! My fiance is an Italian from New Jersey and this place reminds him of the authentic New York Italian pizza. We also met the owner, Richie. Awesome guy making his customer feel very welcomed, he came to our tables and spoke to us and other customers. He is one very down to earth type of guy. Not to mention he is also a former actor, model, and stuntman. He was a guest star in Married with Children,"the Bundy rule", my fiance is a fan of the show. :) got an autograph from Richie!! Well, this review is coming from a native Philadelphian relocated south. I was really disappointed based on the high rating. I'm assuming many of these people have never actually had a real Philly cheesesteak or pizza from up north. The cheesesteak- I'm confused why the bread was so underdone. It was so doughy and not appetizing at all. Also the roll was barely filled with meat. This is not an authentic Philly cheesesteak FYI! Y'all don't know what you're missing! Got there at 2:00 and realized they closed at 2:30. No problem, we're quick eaters. Pizza came out excellent but they wouldn't give us silverware because they had already apparently washed it for closing. They shut down the tv radio and everything else about 2:20 leaving us in an awkward silence and watched over us until we left. One girl even looked at us like "when are you going to leave" and my wife even said "we're almost finished" and the girl just gave a HUGE sigh and rolled her eyes. This is the best restaurant in Dothan, AL! Wonderful New York Style Pizza, delicious subs, amazingly fresh salad, and cheesecake that is beyond belief. Not only is the food out of this world, but the staff is friendly, outgoing, and always aiming to please. On our last visit, the Dr. Pepper machine had just run out, and it is the only thing my dad drinks. He was disappointed to say the least. BUT... one of the waitresses went and got him a can of her Dr. Pepper, fixed his drink , and wouldn't let him pay! Where else do people care about their patrons like that?!? It made our day!
