My wife and I have eaten there 4 times now. The food is outstanding and the service cannot be beat. What amazing experience.

This quiet strip mall pizzeria has it all. Friendly, efficient service and amazing food. Well, almost everything. While they lack a liquor license, the food and service is so good, you'll never miss the beer. We started with the small super chef salad. It came loaded with diced ham, roast beef, and mozzarella cheese. Lettuce appeared to be an afterthought to this wonderful salad. We highly recommend the house made ranch dressing. It's also perfect for dipping crackers and pizza crusts. Our pizza came out hot and equally loaded. It was made the old fashioned way with lots of ingredients-- sausage, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, etc --sitting under a heavenly topping of nicely melted mozzarella. Perfection! read more

Have gotten many pizza's from Mama Rosa's in Dothan. Got a large deluxe and a medium vege pizza Wednesday night. Knew something was wrong when the boxes didn't weigh the way they usually do. Got home and opened the boxes and was not happy. Minimum toppings and the outer 2 1/2 inches (I measured it) of pizza had no sauce or topping. Mike (old owner) would not be happy. Normally the best pizza in Dothan. Not tonight. New employees failed miserably. I'm in Dothan, not Auburn. read more

Unfortunately I can't use profanity to properly describe my experience at Mama Rosa's Pizza. I had a simple pepperoni pizza. It was nasty. I couldn't finish it because it tasted so bland. There is a cheap frozen pizza that has a label that reads "party pizza". That cheap frozen pizza tastes better than this place. The restaurant itself was very boring and plain to match the pizza. Staff attitudes were meh. They didn't want to be there and treated customers as such. I also heard them speaking badly of customers while I waited for my pizza. I would ask that people just avoid this place. Don't give them business that could be given to others that care about serving good food and giving great service. read more

Everytime I come to Alabama this is a must. I started coming here when I was a sophomore at Dothan High. The salad with ham turkey and pasta I cannot find anywhere else in this country. I know it sounds so simple but it has yet to be duplicated. The dressing and white cheese they use is just umm well amazing. When I am home in Texas I dream of this salad. Stopped in this Saturday, ordered breadsticks with cheese and sauce, and a 9" Pepperoni/Pork Sausage/Hamburger. I have to give high marks to the young lady working there, she was the ONLY one working there, this was around noonish to 1pm or so. The teenager who was supposed to be there helping thinks this job is not a priority for them on the weekend. The breadsticks were okay, but didn't seem to have been allowed to rise after it was made. It was flat, heavy and didn't have much flavor, the very thickly applied cheese and sauce added a lot of flavor. However, the breadsticks should have tipped me off. The pizza was inedible. It used the same flat not properly risen dough, the sauce was thrown on as an after thought and not nearly enough, and there was a thick layer of cheese with TONS of sausage and hamburger, the pepperoni were paper thin and not cooked at all which resulted in the pizza not having ANY flavor and not much texture either. If this is what "Mama Rosa" considers a good way to run a pizzeria then she should just do everyone a favor and close her doors. The fact that they would let a single young lady run the ordering, the cooking, the cleanup, the register and whatever else comes up during a weekend shows me that whoever owns this place could care less about the quality of food and more about raking in whatever money they can while having the less than bare minimum of expenses tied up. This store screams that it is what Chef Robert Irvine would never even get near if they called for his help. read more

I would like to give it 4 stars, but it's just not 4 star pizza. 3.5 is what I would give it. Personal size lunch pizza and a Coke, 9 bucks. Not a bad price. The flavor was good for the cheese pie. Sauce, good. Cheese good. But the crust, although having a good flavor and crunch, was just so-so. I was trying to figure out if they made the dough or if it was a pre fab frozen crust. If you are not a Dothan native then u know that Dothan (and maybe the entire southeast) has overall very crappy pizza. Well if you want pizza that's not garbage, then I recommend this place. Not great but much more edible pizza than any of the other places in town. I can't really speak for the service Cuz I had take out but they seemed nice and the place had a very familiar atmosphere. Kinda cozy. Too bad the store is tucked in the back where no one can see it. read more

Awful! My husband and I went here today and I was really disappointed. We both ordered a sub sandwich and a basket of chips. When the waitress brought the chips to the table it was a basket with 2 bags of Lay's potato chips!! Then when we received the subs there was a bag of chips that came with it - waitress never told us this. My sub had a huge piece of Italian sausage on it that was cold and the mushrooms were from a can. Don't waste you time and money!! read more

The staff here is very pleasant and our service was great! Unfortunately I can't say the same about the food. There wasn't anything specifically wrong with my meal- (I got a pizza and salad lunch special). It reminds me of rural towns in the South that only have 3 restaurants- a 'chinese' buffet, a southern/ comfort food place, and an Italian restaurant that serves pizza and subs in these little red plastic baskets. Maybe this place was a good option in Dothan decades ago, but no longer. The pizza crust tasted worse than digornio, the toppings were limited and nothing special. The sauce and cheese where very bland. Not at all authentic. A friend ordered the lasagna and it was unimpressive as well. I've had worse, but there are many better choices in Dothan. Try Firestone if your looking for upscale. Or by far the best pizza and subs in Dothan is Richie B's, it is the best I've had since.... Well, ever. read more
