The bread was ok. The chicken was cooked well. The tour of Italy was very disappointing. The Alfredo was basically heavy cream and little bit of Parmesan. The only way I knew there was parm in the sauce was the few strings of cheese. It was also way too thin. It would've been nice if they'd at least started with a béchamel before adding the parm. Throwing farm in heavy cream is not an Alfredo. The chicken parm was.... Well cooked and breaded chicken with a can of tomato sauce and some cheese thrown on it. I couldn't even it I was so disappointed. read more

La Favorita is an Italian restaurant located in the unlikely spot of a business center. However, overall it was a positive experience. The menu doesn't stray far from the usual assortment that you expect from an Italian restaurant. There is nothing wrong with that. The items on the menu are all beloved and most will find something on the menu that will intrigue them. The service was friendly and professional and definitely added to the vibe and experience. I went with the lasagna and found it to be enjoyable. I would definitely recommend La Favorita. read more

Hey Dothan, ya'll have an awesome Italian restaurant here! Wow! Chicken Murphy Super yummy dish. Nice pieces of chicken and plenty of artichokes! Looking forward to ordering this again! Manicotti a bit salty for me. I like to taste the sweetness of the ricotta and there's plenty of salt in the sauce and other cheese so only 4 stars on that for me. Tiramisu Fresh and yummy. Perfect! Service Super friendly and engaging staff. I felt welcomed. Prices Thank you Excellent portions! read more

Loved the Chicken Murphy which was recommended by a friend and the garlic knots. Was surprised that a salad is considered a side. I have never heard of that!! Especially with a $20 entree. I can't remember any restaurant that charged extra for a tossed salad in my 79 years of dining...just saying read more

Food was perfectly average. I don't recommend the veal.....tasted frozen and was very dry. Our waitress, Christina, was great though! Super sweet and helpful! I wouldn't say it's "authentic" Italian. It's comparable to Olive Garden. Cute restaurant too! read more

Service & food is excellent! We had the Veal Marsala & Lobster Ravioli plus the homemade bread is amazing. I think this is the only restaurant in Dothan that serves real butter not whipped spread. read more

Finally, Italian food as good as the food we left behind in NJ. We've been looking for a place to eat Veal Parmigiana for the past 10 years. Found a few but none compare to La Favorita. The veal was cooked to perfection, the sauce had great flavor and the pasta wasn't watery on the plate. The waitress was very attentive and very nice. The restaurant was clean and well laid out. The restrooms were clean. Looking forward to eating at La Favorita again soon. (Why does Yelp say I am in San Francisco? I'm in Alabama.) read more

The food and Staff are amazing. I make veal piccata at home and this is by far the best in the surrounding area! Love it! read more

The name of the restaurant threw me off but the calamari did not disappoint. The bread was nice and garlicky. The lobster ravioli was fresh and melted in my mouth. Albeit that the sauce was a bit salty but I expected it a little bit. The inside was clean and our waitress was very good! read more

This is the best Italian food around. Honestly, makes O G look and taste like a beginner. The staff is awesome and we love them all. The atmosphere is authentic as well. Go once and you will be hooked for ever! read more

We have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. The rolls we had were delicious handmade coated in garlic and butter. I love chicken parmesan and we first started going it was not frozen chicken but with a real crusted covering fresh chicken with their great tomato gravy. I have given them 3 x lately to order my favorite dish and I have been served artificial precoated chicken and this last time rolls from out of a package. If I wanted fake Italian I would have went to Olive Garden and got fake stuff before the other fake italian. We are so sad but this will not be on our favorite restaurant list in Dothan. read more

The food is absolutely delicious! The Lasagna and Chicken Genova was very good. Received a Limoncello cake for my birthday and it was heavenly! The staff definitely stays busy, so be kind and take your time with them. They were wonderful. read more

They don't answer the phone!!! Why have a phone and restaurant if you are going to leave it off the hook

This restaurant has the best Italian food in Dothan, AL, and it's not even close. The fried ravioli appetizer was full of cheese and served with homemade marinara. The sausage arabiata was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Plenty of Italian sausage and penne pasta tossed in a creamy vodka sauce. And the desserts!! Spumoni cheesecake and tiramisu were both fantastic. The service was a little slow, but it's because the place was packed. I hope it stays that way because I want this restaurant to be here for a long time. read more

The restaurant ambience is very nice; clean and inviting. Our server, Jasmine, was promptly at our table. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was AMAZING!! and it truly was delicious!! I had the "Sausage Arabiata" and my husband had the "Cajun Seafood" both were great! Presentation was nice and food was "Hot!" A real pet peeve of ours is cold food.. certainly not the case here. Our "Garlic Knot Rolls" with the Garlic & Olive for dipping into.. WOW!! So Good! Too Full to eat dessert, so we brought it home Italian layer cake, and a slice of Limoncello cake. We will definitely be making a special trip back to try more dishes. read more

Today was the first time that I had the pleasure of eating at La Favorita with my friends Gayle and Reidar. The food was very good. We started with bread that is served with your meal upon request. Reidar and I had the eggplant parmesan and Gayle had the chicken Parmesan. The food was of generous portions and very fresh. They have a lunch menu which is very nice these days where everything is so expensive. I ordered two tiramisu's to go for my father and nephew. It looks great! The music was Frank Sinatra and they did not blare the music like some restaurants do. (Pet Peeve). They now have their alcohol licence! read more

Had the lunch Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti called in the order and was told ready in 10 mins. When I got there, I was helped right away, and food came out quickly. I have to say that the food was delicious. I had 2 rolls also which were warm and fluffy. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back. Ambiance-could use some work. We were sat at booth connecting to a junk corner. Brooms, mops, just things that should be out of sight. Service-Very slow. Took a while for waitress to greet us at table. Took a while for food. Booth across from us got up 2X to get the tea pitcher and pour themselves tea. Food- I will say food was good. Would probably eat again. read more

lI really do like the food here, but there are a few issues. I ordered the garlic knots for 6.99 instead they brought out bread (italian ) covered with mozzarella and garlic powder . I won't let that happen again, this is the second time. Also, pasta is relatively inexpensive, couldn't they possibly give you a decent portion??? I like the sauces and entrees except for what I previously stated. Love the atmosphere. read more

If you stopped going here because they hadn't secured a licience to serve wine, you can return now.

I chose the veal and shrimp capri, accompanied by a glass of house cabernet sauvignon. The entree was quite tasty; however, I took issue with the fact that only two (2) shrimp satisfied the chef's compliance with the menu description. The "veal" tenderness and flavor reminded me of large slices of sirloin. Service was exceptional thanks to Rhi who was informative, attentive and engaging. While the ambiance may be considered intimate in the evening, I visited around 4 pm Saturday afternoon and did not enjoy the "back of the house" staff antics engaging. I will give the place another chance. read more

Being from New York, anytime I travel I look for Italian food. Everything at La Favorita is phenomenal!! The restaurant is beautiful inside, comfortable, with Sinatra style music playing. The service is every bit as good as the food!! The bread was perfectly baked. I got Sausage Arribata and my husband got Chicken Parmesan. The pasta was perfection, sauces authentic and chicken was perfectly breaded and moist. We finished with the limoncello cake and it was every bit as good as it looked!!! Please go try this restaurant!!! We need to support locally owned, amazing food! read more

We went for the first time yesterday and I'm not kidding, this was the best dinner we've had since we moved here. Appetizers of fried ravioli, salads, I had the Bolognese and it was so tasty, everything was homemade. Dessert of Limoncello, filling was light and creamy. Even the coffee was tasty. Can't wait til we carb overload again and go back! We'll never go to "The Olive Franchise" again. read more

After 6 yrs living in Dothan and having traveled extensively in the U.S. & Europe...I have been privileged to dining in restaurants with famous chefs. I was absolutely amazed with my meal at La Favorita. This is not only the best Italian food that I've ever tasted, it had the quality of fine dining in Europe. I cannot praise them enough. The service is good. Two young men brought out our meals which were hot. Ambiance is average. Even though the restaurant was full, the noise level was minimal. Highly recommend!!! read more
