Finally, Italian food as good as the food we left behind in NJ. We've been looking for a place to eat Veal Parmigiana for the past 10 years. Found a few but none compare to La Favorita. The veal was cooked to perfection, the sauce had great flavor and the pasta wasn't watery on the plate. The waitress was very attentive and very nice. The restaurant was clean and well laid out. La Favorita is an Italian restaurant located in the unlikely spot of a business center. However, overall it was a positive experience. The menu doesn't stray far from the usual assortment that you expect from an Italian restaurant. There is nothing wrong with that. The items on the menu are all beloved and most will find something on the menu that will intrigue them. The service was friendly and professional and definitely added to the vibe and experience. We have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. The rolls we had were delicious handmade coated in garlic and butter. I love chicken parmesan and we first started going it was not frozen chicken but with a real crusted covering fresh chicken with their great tomato gravy. I have given them 3 x lately to order my favorite dish and I have been served artificial precoated chicken and this last time rolls from out of a package. If I wanted fake Italian I would have went to Olive Garden and got fake stuff before the other fake italian. We are so sad but this will not be on our favorite restaurant list in Dothan. read more

The name of the restaurant threw me off but the calamari did not disappoint. The bread was nice and garlicky. The lobster ravioli was fresh and melted in my mouth. Albeit that the sauce was a bit salty but I expected it a little bit. The inside was clean and our waitress was very good! read more

Its the best I have had since the closing of the Pasta Peddler in down town Panama City when it closed 25 years ago. The restaurant ambience is very nice; clean and inviting. Our server, Jasmine, was promptly at our table. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was AMAZING!! and it truly was delicious!! I had the "Sausage Arabiata" and my husband had the "Cajun Seafood" both were great! Presentation was nice and food was "Hot!" A real pet peeve of ours is cold food.. certainly not the case here. Our "Garlic Knot Rolls" with the Garlic & Olive for dipping into.. WOW!! So Good! This place is truly amazing. Very inviting restaurant. We went for my husband's birthday tonight and everything was delicious. The complimentary garlic knots were to die for. Had the lunch Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti called in the order and was told ready in 10 mins. When I got there, I was helped right away, and food came out quickly. I have to say that the food was delicious. I had 2 rolls also which were warm and fluffy. I would definitely recommend this place and will be going back. Today was the first time that I had the pleasure of eating at La Favorita with my friends Gayle and Reidar. The food was very good. We started with bread that is served with your meal upon request. Reidar and I had the eggplant parmesan and Gayle had the chicken Parmesan. The food was of generous portions and very fresh. They have a lunch menu which is very nice these days where everything is so expensive. I ordered two tiramisu's to go for my father and nephew. It looks great! The entree was quite tasty; however, I took issue with the fact that only two (2) shrimp satisfied the chef's compliance with the menu description. The "veal" tenderness and flavor reminded me of large slices of sirloin. Service was exceptional thanks to Rhi who was informative, attentive and engaging. While the ambiance may be considered intimate in the evening, I visited around 4 pm Saturday afternoon and did not enjoy the "back of the house" staff antics engaging. lI really do like the food here, but there are a few issues. I ordered the garlic knots for 6.99 instead they brought out bread (italian ) covered with mozzarella and garlic powder . I won't let that happen again, this is the second time. Also, pasta is relatively inexpensive, couldn't they possibly give you a decent portion??? This restaurant has the best Italian food in Dothan, AL, and it's not even close. The fried ravioli appetizer was full of cheese and served with homemade marinara. The sausage arabiata was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Plenty of Italian sausage and penne pasta tossed in a creamy vodka sauce. And the desserts!! Spumoni cheesecake and tiramisu were both fantastic. The service was a little slow, but it's because the place was packed. I hope it stays that way because I want this restaurant to be here for a long time. read more

After hearing such rave reviews from several people, we were greatly disappointed. Everything was dull and flavorless. Pasta was overcooked, sauces were tasteless and the veal entre was soggy and practically room temperature. Going in right as they opened, we assumed everything would be fresh and hot. Nothing was seasoned, there was no aroma and barely warm. The only thing we did enjoy was the bread on the side. At least it had a faint scent and taste of garlic. After eating some of the best Italian food in the greater Chicago area we were not expecting that level, but some flavor would have been nice. Hopefully for the rest of you, they get better. Being from New York, anytime I travel I look for Italian food. Everything at La Favorita is phenomenal!! The restaurant is beautiful inside, comfortable, with Sinatra style music playing. The service is every bit as good as the food!! The bread was perfectly baked. I got Sausage Arribata and my husband got Chicken Parmesan. The pasta was perfection, sauces authentic and chicken was perfectly breaded and moist. We finished with the limoncello cake and it was every bit as good as it looked!!! We went for the first time yesterday and I'm not kidding, this was the best dinner we've had since we moved here. Appetizers of fried ravioli, salads, I had the Bolognese and it was so tasty, everything was homemade. Dessert of Limoncello, filling was light and creamy. Even the coffee was tasty. I was absolutely amazed with my meal at La Favorita. This is not only the best Italian food that I've ever tasted, it had the quality of fine dining in Europe. I cannot praise them enough. Food was good, but the smallest portion I've ever seen. I ordered lobster ravioli and it was only 3 pieces (about 2-2.5" diameter) and plenty of sauce. My daughter ordered something else and her portion seemed fine. They have garlic knots, but they don't bring it to you automatically; they ask you if you would like some, To me it was kind of blend, but with the lobster sauce it was fine. There's no complementary salad. The atmosphere is ok, but I felt I had to talk softly or everyone else could hear my conversation.
