Elderly Care the way it should be…read more My 95 year old aunt stayed here very briefly after a lengthy hospital stay. Unfortunately she passed away but came to enjoy the staff and facility during her few weeks there. From a family perspective, they are great to work with, very understanding and flexible. Can't say enough about the care she received. They were attentive, patient, and compassionate. There's a special place in Heaven for the people in this industry and I'm thankful we found them at Country View.

My family has been blessed to have five family members living at Warm Hearth Village. One family member lives in a village townhouse now and another in the housing neighborhood. Both are extremely satisfied with the planned activities, facilities available, maintenance, food services, and their neighbors. Because of the high standard of excellence, there is a long waitlist to be a resident. Plan early for retirement at Warm Hearth Village by getting on the waitlist before you feel ready. If a unit becomes available and you're not ready then you can always pass. My family loves the Warm Hearth Village community and cannot say enough good things about them.

Don't expect Administration/Management to assist other than the bare minimum, and definitely don't expect any compassion or guidance during this time of need. I was graced to receive their help at the beginning but left in the cold after that with nothing but excuses. The Director Wendy is the rudest person and should not have that position. She has no compassion for those who are going through these difficult decisions with your loved one. Try to find another place if at all possible because you will have to deal with Wendy at some point.

The front porch has rocking chairs that allow a great view of the scenery. The place isn't fancy but it is clean and comfy. Occupancy allows 45 people (there are 19 residents at the moment). The social and dining area are near the front entrance. Residents can watch television together in the front "living room" area. The bathroom is spacious. A wardrobe "closet" was in the room, as well as a regular closet & dresser. My family member did not want a tv in the room. The staff is nice. A chaplain visited while we were in the room. There are also volunteers who visit the facility when patients want company. My family member is in the hospice program.

It is the opinion of the writer that Havenwood Assisted Living was not as advertised when it came…read moreto the care and food quality. Also the writer cannot vouch for the integrity of this establishment as it tried to short his mother of her $500 deposit check cashed 1/23/17. The writer realized at tax season that his mother's $500 deposit was not credited toward the billing even though months earlier Havenwood employee Cheryl volunteered that they forgot to do it and would do so. The writer failed to follow up at the time and his mother's deposit was never credited/returned. On 3/22-23 2018 the writer notified the owner Mark Squires by Squire's personal e mail that he was overdue his mother's deposit return but Mr. Squires deliberately failed to address said e mails which warned of repercussions. On 3/27/18 the writer filed Roanoke BBB complaint # 12760183. Mr. Squires responded to the BBB complaint with a check but shorted the writer the amount of a previous credit owed to the writer and paid back by Mr. Squires months earlier. That was unacceptable and the writer then pursued further with the BBB complaint and filed an additional complaint with the licensing authority of Havenwood's jurisdiction. In front of the investigator, Mr. Squires wrote another check for the monies he wrongly shorted and thereby restored my mother's $500 deposit in full. My mother was a resident at Havenwood Assisted Living from 2/6/17 to 5/11/17.
