Used to be my go to place. Went in last Tuesday to have two tires mounted and balanced. Driving home I had wheel shake. Went back and they said it was that one of the wheels was bent. My Semi truck broke a heater hose out on the interstate, I limped it to exit 28 where i found Richeys Tire Factory, I ask if they had any water to fill the radiator so I could make it to Portland and have it repaired, The crew jumped on my rig and found the problem. They said your not going to make it to Portland They repaired my truck within a 1/2 hour and got me back on the road, When I offered to pay they said "no charge" I couldn't believe it ! I had a good experience when I came in to get my tire patched. It was early on a Sunday when I realized that I had a flat tire. I originally had planned to go to Sears to get it done, but it doesn't open until a little later. Thankfully Richey's was open earlier than Sears. Some of the most kind, professional mechanics I've met. So far my car has been running excellent so I will happily admit they do great work. Nevertheless, after making an appointment for 8am, showing up at 745, and having already diagnosed the problem, I waited almost 6 hours for my car to be done. This is the reason for 3 stars. Came in here to get a flat fixed on my car after it previously was went flat and got poorly "fixed" only a week ago at Sears for 3 hours and they couldn't find out what was wrong with my tires but here they figured out that it had a screw in it! Driving from Portland to Seattle, my boyfriend ran over nail leaving our tire completely flat. Being a Sunday, there wasn't much we could do. We called AAA but they don't actually FIX flats. We called a dozen tire shops, but they were closed or had no availability. I came on here (thanks Yelp!) and found Richey's Tire Repair. I spoke to Chad who told me to come on down and they would help me out. When we got there everyone was VERY friendly which is great when you are in panic mode. Chad helped with the tire, recommend we replace our windshield wipers (it was like a monsoon and they sucked, so we did), and just made the whole day MUCH better. I failed my first emissions test and my tags were due to expire. I called this shop to make an appointment and pay the diagnostic fee and explained that I failed too many sensor readings and had been driving around to get the readings ready for my second test. Prior to my appointment, Duane suggested I stop in and they could hook up a computer to check my readings. Duane and Harold checked and said I was good to go and saved me $150+! With really awful timing, both our vehicles caught nails in tires and we needed to get them looked at. Fantastic place, fantastic people, usually I go to my dealer for service and tires since most places don't carry my brand. Had a flat a year ago and they helped me right away, made sure my spare was properly inflated, ordered my new tires and within a couple days they were put on quickly and with a smile. One year later, hit a pot hole and blew out my new tire, dented the rim so now both had to be replaced. Dave found me a new rim and tire within 24 hrs it arrived. Honored my warranty and found a good reconditioned rim for a fraction of a new one. Great, local shop! Ended up with a flat on a Sunday, and while most other shops (including the big national chain tire shops) were closed, these guys were open and hard at work. Was in and out the door with a freshly patched tire in about 15 minutes. They had super fair pricing, but the job was so quick they said this one was 'on the house'. Who does that kind of stuff nowadays!?! I don't write many yelp reviews, but felt compelled to write one for Richey's after the awesome service here. Hands down the most honest repair shop I have ever come across. I went in on a Sunday afternoon with a flat tire. I went back on Monday to have my brakes inspected. (I previously had them inspected elsewhere and was told I needed $800 in repairs done. I was told I needed new rear drums, shoes, front brake pads, and rotors) So here I was, prepared for a similar estimate. After about 30 minutes they came and got me and brought me out to my car on the lift. The gentleman took his time showing me my brakes and said he'd be willing to replace my rear drums and shoes.....but I didn't need to yet. He proceeded to the front brakes and told me there was nothing wrong with my pads and that they could fix my rotors. Total estimate amount ... $120 + tax. After a short nap on their couch my car was repaired and I was out the door. What am amazing feeling to feel like I was told honest and accurate information. It was a tremendous relief and I felt like the technicians there actually cared about me, my car, and being honest about the work I actually needed done. I recently took my F250 x 4 to Richey's for front brake problem they Quoted me $685 + Tax Which I thought was high. But I OK'd the work A couple hrs. later I called Les Schwab for a Quote for the same work to be done. $666 including tax then I talked to Schwab brake shop he quoted me $ 487 + tax I asked how come the difference in cost Richey said he only used the best parts and the Schwab may have used cheap Chinese parts. I really hate to be the only 2 star review but I had a terrible time there today. The front desk guy was nice & helped me check in. But like 20 min later some other guy comes up to me & said that the tires I brought them to mount are too big & will rub & they can't do anything about it & wont put them on. I knew that the tires were larger then The ones I had but I did some research & everyone said that those tires would work even tho they are larger. I just have a feeling that he didn't even really try. just glanced at them & turned me down I work 6 days a week & I was disparate todo them today & this dude literally did not care basically just told me to go. I went down to Costco they mounted those tires for half the price that this place said they would ($65 compared to $130 that this place quoted me) I drove me truck there's no rubbing no issues at all. So just trying to give you a heads up that if you have an odd task steer clear of this place. Cuz the guy I talked to was not a professional. read more

I have chosen this shop several times because a family member has had several good experiences with them, but i can not say that i am as impressed as they were. The issues i have had two issues that have made me decide not to go here anymore. First was a EGR valve that needed replaced. Got it taken care of then 6 months later the check engine light came back and gave the same code for the EGR valve again. The replacement part was still under warranty but the labor had expired. Had it replaced again and same thing. A few months pass, and i received the code again. Apparently all they did was replace the part and did not bother cleaning the ports around which were the real problem. I have been told that this would be standard practice anywhere else. second problem was a window motor that had "failed." Was told after a couple days that they had searched high and low for the part they needed and only found one for $500 across the country. Then when they received the part it was not did not have the right piece the needed, and had to call in a for to have one specially made for the great deal of around $200. I found out later that the piece that failed is a part i can find just about anywhere online for $5 because its a common failure in this car. I like the guys at this shop, and im glad my family member has had a good time with them, but i feel like i have suckered to many times by them. read more

During my last oil change, it was strongly recommended I get the front tires replaced soon. I shopped around a bit and I called Richie's on the recommendation of a friend for their good prices and really quick installation. I got a good quote for a set of Corolla tires with a 30 minute installation quote. My husband went down and the gentleman who came out to look at the car told us that we can easily get another 4-6 months out of the tires before they really need to be changed. He said 'I mean, I can sell you a new set, but I don't really want to sell you something you don't need right now.' In a world where people are all about selling what they can and making money and have no interest in if it's needed or in the best interest of the client, I'm incredibly impressed with these guys. We aren't really in a position where we have the cash for new tires (but one cant really ignore tires, on account of safety and all) so it was a huge relief to hear that we didn't have to figure that out right now. And it was so refreshing to find an honest company. We will definitely go to them for all future tire purchases for both cars. read more
