I've been here a few times and it's less expensive but I wouldn't recommend coming here. Like at all. I just had tires mounted. One of the guys put a tire on backwards and had to pull it off and flip it around. I happened to put the wheel cap back on this wheel, thank goodness I did or I wouldn't have looked down and damn they did a number on my wheel. My wheels are original and old. I wouldn't have cared much if it was a small scratch or a ding. But this is pretty bad. It's obvious it was fresh because you can see the shiny aluminum underneath. I showed it to the manager, he wanted no part of it. Wouldn't take any responsibility for it. I'm not the arguing type so this is my only recourse. Pay the full price at a bigger tire place and avoid these guys damaging your wheels. read more

Very disappointed in St. Johns Tire Shop. I've been a loyal customer for over 10 years, both as an auto mechanic and a reseller. They used to be amazing -- but over the past year, their customer service and the quality of their used tires have seriously gone downhill. About a year ago, I sent my sister in for four used tires. Within a month, all four were no good. When she called back, the staff was extremely rude -- wouldn't let her talk, talked over her, and offered no help at all. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they had treated me well in the past. But just recently, I bought another tire. As soon as I got home, I noticed it was hissing from a patch. I had to leave town due to a family emergency and called them as soon as I got back. The response I got was, "I don't know what you want me to tell you," followed by being talked over and dismissed. That was the last straw. I won't be doing business here anymore, and I'll be making sure others are aware. This shop is not what it used to be -- and unfortunately, it's become a place I can no longer trust. Hopefully they figure it out. Before opening more locations than the two they have! read more

called them they told me they got my size tires brand new I come and they start putting on tires way smaller and not my size as I needed 245/45/17 and they tried to put on 275/40/17 way different tire I noticed this and asked them and they tried to lie to me that the car needed these tires I go to show them and they knew I'm right and offer me brand new tires. I agreed and I asked them are they brand new never used they said yes they were about to put them on when I noticed two big patches on one tire and one on the other one. The manager called me a liar. Was extremely rude. Wouldn't warranty a the two tires I had out On five days ago that failed. He said I was burning out and that's why the tire failed. Went here by the recommendation of a friend as my wife and I are new to the area. Saw many ads online offering 4 new tires for $250; of quality brands like continental, which I intended on buying. When I got there they had no idea what ads I was talking about and didn't have anything new by those brands at that price. I decided to see what they had in used and settled on a pretty decent set of Toyo tires for $220 mounted and balanced the guy said. When I went in to pay the price suddenly shot up to $260 because of taxes and other fees. When i asked if he could at least split the difference with me, suddenly he goes from being the guy in charge to a meek " oh I only work here " routine which would have been comical if it wasn't so lame and kinda shity on his part, but whatever, they looked like pretty great used tires so I went ahead. I got on the highway and my car was driving bad. I pulled off the highway to check out the tires at the gas station and found them to be overinflated at almost twice the recommended pressure and the best part is that I only got 3 Toyo tires, the 4th was of a different brand I wasn't told about. They replaced my two front tires replaced tires with one tire that had less tread than the tires I had them replace and one that is loud and vibrates when I get above 50 MPH. I took my car back in a day latter to have them replace both of the tires again they tried charging my $25 per tire. Lesson learned. Will stick with The Tire Place downtown. Purchased tires a month ago and they were too old to sell. The sidewalls split. The owner tried to blame it on everything under the sun and I paid around 1400$ for useless dangerous tires. Went back, tried to give him a chance to make it right and he was basically as shady as it gets. Told be "do whatever you want" and "it's a free country." I normally don't do things like this but it pissed me off so bad that I'm taking him to court over it because it's a matter of principle and safety. Check out the pics. **DISHONEST BUSINESS. I am disgusted with the service and dishonesty this shop has to offer. There has been 2 encounters here that have called me to write this review. The first being I came here for one used tired that they stated they had in my size for my car and only for me to find out they installed an improper size (too small) on my car. I had to come back for two new used tires one to replace the wrong size that they didn't acknowledge or care to cover and another one that was lacking tread. They told me the two tires had about 65-70% tread. I paid for the two. In about six weeks I find my right tire completely flat. When I pulled off the tire to look at it I found a plug in it. When these tires were sold to me they were not supposed to be plugged tires and were only sold to me as used/good tires with a good amount of tread left. They lied to me and when I came in today to speak to OSCAR he completely ignored me and said they didn't know what I have done in the last 6 weeks and would not acknowledge the fact that they sold me A PLUGGED TIRE without my knowledge. I advise no one to trust such a business that sees know wrong doing so and not making things right. Oscar is unprofessional and a dishonest person. Oscar said he knows about his bad reviews and he doesn't care when i brought it up. They will put on used, dangerous, plugged tires without your knowledge. This is not a reliable business. Spend your money and go to a reputable tire shop. Disappointed and they in fact do not water test their tires. read more

I understand why they have a 2 star rating. I am very disappointed in the in the business. The problem may have been the language barrier. They speak Spanish fluently but only speak English. I called to confirm a price on Wed. and was told $60 each for 3 tires mounted and balanced- out the door. I called, again Thursday and asked the price for 4 tires. I was told $55 each. I confirmed that I wanted them. I went to have the tires installed and was told $360 each. I reminded they that they had quoted $220 two hours earlier. After conferring they brought "different" tires and said total price would be $224. I agreed. After the tires were installed, was told $260 would be the price because I was charged $5 for each of the tires they took off. Grudgingly, I agreed. When I gave them my card I was told the Price was now $281. They, unfortunately, had difficulty trying to run the card. I then went to an ATM and withdrew $260 and they accepted that. Had to replace one of the 6 trailer tires i bought here 6 months ago, was told it would cost $60 with everything including mount and tax. Came back after running some errands and paid the guy in cash. He changed the price and added another $5 more and plus another $5 for tire disposal for a total of $10 on top of the agreed upon $60. Very deceptive on their pricing. Just make sure if you do go here that you get a confirmed price in writing before you let them touch your car. Called the owner to inquire if he had a set of tires listed on Craigslist for sale still, he confirmed he did. I told him I'd be in the next day since I'm an hour away and it was within 30 min of closing. Called him while on my way to confirm I was en route for those tires and he again confirmed. I got there with bare rims and unloaded them from my trunk. I walked in and told him I was the guy here for the specific brand, size and price and again he confirmed he still had them. He told me 30 min so I left and came back. They kindly loaded the wheels in my car while I went to pay. Price out the door was as agreed so I paid, got in my car and left. Once I got home and unloaded them, I noticed a huge discrepancy in the amount of life left in these tires compared to what I asked for. The advertised tires were at "80%" which often means 8/32". Even at 8/32 it's more like 65% since you have to replace them between 2/32" and 3/32" but I understand most shops advertise like this. Mine were at 3/32" on 2 and 4-5/32" on the other two. It was after business hours so I called first thing the next morning and explained the situation so he told me to come back and he'd look at them. Got there a couple mornings because that's the soonest I could make the trip. I showed him his Craigslist ad and showed him the tires. He stared at both for awhile then disappeared into his shop for 5-6 minutes. Once he came out, he told me he could sell me another set and I would pay the difference. I said I wouldn't do that, he needed to get me the tires I asked for. He went on to give me 4 reasons he wouldn't: 1) I should have been more specific because he has LOTS of tires and can't keep track of them all (it was the only set in the brand/size on Craigslist) 2) that set he sold last week but I got a good deal 3) the other set didn't include mounting/balancing (despite me showing him his own add that states otherwise). I argued with him for 10 minutes and it was clear it was an intentional bait and switch. He "graciously" offered a 10% discount next time so I told what he did was wrong and I wouldn't be coming back. I will have to replace two the tires soon. The sad part is I spent $180 to be in the same situation I started in. read more

They had 90% tread life left on them and they were half the price of new with free mount and balance. After reading the Yelp reviews I went in with my eyes wide open and was very happy by the customer service and speed of the shop. I was out in under an hour with 4 fairly new tires. So I had Audi tow my car and they put new tires on. So when I came back to get my money 440.00 they keep 140 and only and gave me back 300. Never used the tires. I took my truck to have some tires swapped out. I had 35s on it, wanted it swapped out to the 37s I had. The guy told me they have about 20-30% tread left (in actuality I had 55-75 because I can read a tire depth gauge) and told me he can do it. But it would cost $150. I said ok, then he said he'd rather sell me a set of tires that had 60% tread left for $400 (mind you the tires he wanted to sell me were 35s as well not 37s) I said NO, I just wanted these swapped. He said ok. I'm not going to do it, and walked away. I bought a pair of tires in the past from this guy. At the time, he was unloading more tires. He seemed like I was putting him out at that point. But figured he was having a bad day and passed it on to a gal that was working with him. Apparently, this is how he is. Would recommend staying away from this guy. read more
