Terry is hands-down the best chiropractor I have ever seen, and I've seen many over the years. He spends one hour with you, talks to you, and really focuses on your issues. He is also one of the best and most interesting people you will ever meet, having worked in AIDS wards in the 80s in New York and doing missionary work in Southeast Asia before that. His landline has been disconnected since COVID but he has his cell phone number taped to his office door. read more

Sometimes you simply strike gold. Terry is HALF what I was paying another chiropractor (and then some) while spending twice to three times as long on me. And most importantly, he fixed several problems that had evaded other chiropractors. He's holistically minded and takes the time to educate you, so you can understand and participate in your own recovery. He's careful to heat up your muscles prior to adjustments with giant, heavenly heating pads. He's committed to healing, so when needed, he tacks on more time to what is already a long and thorough session. Afterward, he urges you to lie down on a bed that rolls up and down your spine, helping your body ease into it's more perfect alignment. For some reason, it always feels like an extra treat. Finally, not only does he immediately make you feel comfortable, but he is also a fascinating conversationalist. When I ask him why he keep his rates so low, he says he lives simply so others can afford him. This is the kind of person I want in my life in any form I can get them...healer, friend, or otherwise... read more

Dr. Richards is an exceptional health care professional. I'm only in my twenties and I've suffered with chronic back pain for most my life. I've seen countless doctors, surgeons, physical therapists, physical trainers, and chiropractors. Dr. Richards has done more for me in one session than most have in the years I've been getting treatment. He's very thorough and very affordable. Since it's been a longtime ailment, I know a good chiropractor when I see one. I am conscious of any tiny misalignment in the vertebrae and know what to expect from a chiropractor to treat it. Dr. Richards has gone beyond expectations. He's devoted and caring. An extra perk is that he's a great conversationalist and has a fascinating background so it's fun to see him too. Don't get turned off by the hole-in-the wall location. The office is messy, dusty and looks sketchy, but it's not at all a representation of the phenomenal work Dr. Richards performs. Thank you for being such an outstanding healer, Dr. Richards. read more

Dr. Richards is not only the best chiropractor I've ever been to, he's also one of the nicest people I've ever met. I've been going to him sporadically for several years now... prior to going to him, I actually had two separate people who didn't know each other recommend him to me! He takes time with each patient and explains exactly what he's doing and why. I have chronic migraines, but for a couple months after each visit they stop completely! About a year and a half ago I sustained a back injury at work and was forced to go to a chiropractor that the insurance company chose. You can REALLY tell the difference when you see a good chiropractor... let's just say as soon as that treatment was over I went straight back to Terry! He doesn't take insurance and charges a very reasonable flat fee for each visit. Even if your insurance will cover a visit to a different chiro 100%, do yourself a favor and go to Terry anyway. You'll be hooked! read more

Dr. T is the best chiro ive ever been to and the most reasonable. He is also one of the most kind and nice people you will ever meet. I've been worried since he hasnt been answering his texts/calls and it sounds like maybe someone else now has his number. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF DR. T is ok!?!?!??? read more

Dr. Richards is by far the kindest, funniest, most effective, knowledgeable and cost-friendly chiropractor one could hope for. He was recommended to me by a colleague and I can now see why everyone that's heard of him has essentially found a most excellent chiropractor for life. He doesn't try to scam you into a 3x/week for a months on end situation that'll bleed you dry monetarily. He doesn't advertise because word of mouth is the most efficient form of advertising and that's what I'm trying to share with you. He takes his time and gives one the most thorough treatment (custom tailored to each individual patient) that one could hope for. read more

This is the 2nd Chiropractor that I have been to and let me tell you Terry takes his time with you. He doesn't do a 20 minute fix and off you go then come back next week. He approaches this in a Hollister way and treats you like a long lost friend. Definitely coming back when my body tells me I need to. read more

Terri is amazing. He is very dedicated and knowledgeable. I drive over an hour to go get adjusted as often as I can. He doesn't just crack your back like a lot of the other places I've been to, he takes his time to do a good adjustment. read more

I had the pleasure of Dr Richards' when I developed severely painful tendonitis in my left shoulder and could not lift my left arm beyond a 90 degree. I would be awakened from my sleep a few times whenever I would roll my left shoulder even slightly. I also had a constant stiff neck for a few months which made me feel even worse. My sister recommended Dr Richards because he helped her with her stiff neck and trapezius muscles in one visit, no follow up was even necessary. I had to fly up to S.F. From Long Beach , yet I did not mind because of the excruciating pain, inability to use my left arm and diminished quality of life. Prior to visiting Dr Richards, I did call him to give him some background info and get to know him during our 15 min phone conversation, he listened and said he would be able to help me. I also had a few health issues and I needed to be sure he would not over-promise and under-deliver. I asked him about his fees and was so surprised at how reasonable his fees are compared to other chiropractors. I made my appointment and fly up to S.F. and I must say Dr Richards is A MIRACLE WORKER!!!! He was able to help my left arm elevate one inch higher after one session. Since I was in pain from my stiff neck, I asked him whether he could give me a second appointment before my return flight. Dr Richards was great and so very kind and patient. He penciled me in for the day before my departure flight. Dr Richards was able to relieve me of my stiff neck!!! His fees were extremely reasonable. I had to confirm the fee since I thought I could not believe it was very affordable. Dr Richards believes in making his chiropractic services affordable so anyone who is in pain can and will be helped. It is nearly 3 months later and my neck is free from pain with full neck rotations. My left shoulder has not improved beyond the initial treatments so I shall be calling Dr Richards for another appointment. If you have any pain, stiffness or discomfort with normal movement, please call Dr Richards for an appointment. He personally answers all calls during business hours. Hope you will say he is your miracle worker too. THANK YOU DR RICHARDS!!!! read more

I have been to many Chiropractors in my life and I am so grateful to have found Dr. Richards in SF. He makes taking care of myself a pleasure with drop in hours and a casual laid back experience. He just straight knows what hes doing. Ive recommended countless people to him.

I have periodically had lower back pains and pains in other areas that come from just living. I have been seeing Dr. Richards now, off and on, for several years and feel that a review is long over-due. First of all, for all those who might have been disuaded from seeing him because of his office, Dr. Richards has had a major clean-up and over-haul of his offices as of last October and his place is now as clean and neat as a pin and professional as anyone's. He said he finally decided to pay attention to both his friends as well as his clients and is now a fanatic about keeping it clean and organized and it shows! Dr. Richards is a wonderful and through chiropractor, using a variety of modalities to get the desired results while his gentle and easy-going banter make the full hour he dedicates to each patient fly! When you are finished, you can get on his rolling massage machine in an adjacent room and he will put a little blankie on you and let you have a nice rolling back massage for as long as you want! For only $35.00 (cash only please) it is a bargain in anyone's book. Now get your sore a-- out there and see him! read more

I just saw Terrence and I can't recommend him enough! He is very thorough in his examination, gives great explanation of everything that's going on and with his adjustments (I like to know everything happening). He has such a positive, joyful personality which makes seeing him even more enjoyable! :) read more

Dr. Richards is a great chiropractor! He's very knowledgeable and determined to get to the root of the problem, so I felt like I was on the road to recovery from the very first visit. I'm so far out of alignment that when my legs were stretched, the left leg was 1-1/2" shorter than the right leg. Dr. Richards accomplished a lot in only one visit! I feel better and am looking forward to my next treatment. I intend to refer all my friends to him. He's fun to visit with, too. Rose S. read more

Dr Richards is the most caring doctor I've ever met. He does way beyond and above to find out your problem and he will fix it. He works out of his small office in the Richmond District. Very convenient to get to even on public transportation. He accepts walk-ins unless he has an appointment with someone but the wait is not that long. While you wait, you can hop on his automatic massage table which I usually fall asleep on. His price are very reasonable too so if you ever have backaches, headaches or anything wrong that might need an adjustments, give him a call. read more
