UNTRUSTWORTHY…read more Dropped off my car for slipping transmission at a low speed, they said they'd identify the problem in 2 days and it would be $100. 7 days later I have to call them and ask what's happening. I got called back later and was told they ran a test, confirmed that the car was slipping, and what the machine said, the diagnostic (which takes 5-10 minutes max) was $140 and the best option was a $6200 new transmission. I came over the next day and asked about a rebuild. Ryan at the front desk told me nobody does rebuilds anymore so the only real option is a new transmission. Immediately took my car out and will never bring it back in. Called J & J Transmission, they do free diagnostics, and got an estimate for a rebuild around 3700. EDIT: Owner contacted me after posting this, refunded me, apologized and was very respectful and reasonable. I believe the misquoted price to begin with was a genuine mistake, but I still would not recommend going here unless you know cars well enough to recognize mistakes or incomplete information about your options.

The print-out said I needed a new oil pressure sending unit and also recommended replacing the intake manifold gasket. It was not a cheap fix. Being new to the area, I had no idea where to go. I researched it and discovered that Texas Auto Care had the best reviews by far. I called and spoke with James, the owner and mechanic. He gave me a quote of nearly $500. I dropped my car off and when he called to say the car was ready, he advised me there would be no charge as he felt there had been a glitch in the system when my oil was changed the day before. I would highly recommend Texas Auto Care. It would have been so easy for them to have done the job and I never would have known! I can't tell you how thankful I am that I found James and Jessica. Their honesty is overwhelming and so appreciated!
