The print-out said I needed a new oil pressure sending unit and also recommended replacing the intake manifold gasket. It was not a cheap fix. Being new to the area, I had no idea where to go. I researched it and discovered that Texas Auto Care had the best reviews by far. I called and spoke with James, the owner and mechanic. He gave me a quote of nearly $500. I dropped my car off and when he called to say the car was ready, he advised me there would be no charge as he felt there had been a glitch in the system when my oil was changed the day before. I would highly recommend Texas Auto Care. It would have been so easy for them to have done the job and I never would have known! I can't tell you how thankful I am that I found James and Jessica. They accept no responsibility and put the same temporary drain plug back in it. The Big 5 service center on E. Marshall Ave. was superb on fixing the situation. They said clearly the other service center was at fault. They replaced the old drain plug with the right one and said to bring it back if anything else takes place. I still give the Loop 281 store a 1 because they are no longer recommended by me. The E. Marshall Ave. one definitely is!

But after my recent experiences, I have never felt so gaslit, dismissed, and taken advantage of by a repair facility in my life. This isn't a casual complaint; this is a public appeal to corporate management regarding an escalating chain of mechanical installation errors and a complete breakdown of customer respect. In March of this year, my vehicle was brought to this shop under an insurance claim for a complete engine assembly replacement. The final bill for that single job was a massive $5,579.40 (Invoice 10039764). To complete an engine swap of that magnitude, the technicians were required to physically separate my engine block from my transmission and handle the torque converter and flexplate. Exactly two weeks later, on March 20 (Invoice 10054583), I was charged another $1,952.84 to replace the catalytic converter and exhaust manifold--a component they had completely detached just days prior during the engine swap, raising serious questions about overlapping labor charges and missed diagnoses. By May 12 (Work Order W0179575), my car was right back in their shop. The transmission was completely out of fluid because the torque converter seal was leaking. The shop blamed "age and wear," completely ignoring the reality that this delicate seal sits exactly where they unbolted the engine from the transmission in March. Running a transmission bone-dry causes extreme internal heat, physical binding, and severe shifting vibrations. Now, in July, my car is sitting there yet again with a cracked flexplate (Work Order W0350139) and a $2,676.28 estimate. The flexplate is the literal metal disc connecting the engine to the torque converter. Combining an old flexplate transferred during the engine swap with the violent mechanical stress of a dry transmission in May is a textbook formula for a metal fracture. Altogether, over $9,600 has been funneled into this shop for a single vehicle drivetrain area since March. Instead of looking at this documentable chain reaction of cascading labor failures, the staff has treated me like I am the problem. To my face, they acted like they weren't trying to blame me for the new damages, but behind my back, they were explicitly telling the insurance company it was my fault. Worse, I have had to fight tooth and nail the entire time my car has been here just to get my own paperwork. The staff repeatedly claimed they couldn't send the Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) reports, claimed they didn't have access to them, or claimed they hadn't generated them yet. However, the system timestamps and actual facts have proven otherwise. I now have every single DVI inspection report in my possession, and the data inside them tells the true story. They have indirectly called me a liar, gaslit me about my vehicle's mechanical history, and treated linked issues as completely random events. I am publicly calling on Automotive Super Center's corporate leadership to step in and review this case. I expect corporate to honor their repair warranty, acknowledge the installation oversight, and cover the cost of this flexplate repair and the check engine light that reads "exhaust and emissions system" that they still have not addressed after multiple times of being asked to do so.
