"Do you wear glasses?" (Look at my chart...I've been coming here for several years.) I didn't say that...but, began to wonder. I held up my sunglasses and informed her that I wear these and they are prescription sunglasses. Then, she asked if they are sunglasses. What?!? Didn't I just show them and state that? Her feeble attempts at communication went downhill from there. She doesn't listen. It's difficult when someone is only thinking of his/her next question and doesn't listen to your responses. Attitude is everything and hers was anything but friendly. I endured, but... When I'm around that sort of lousy customer service, I start to withdraw. I began responding to her unfriendly demands with brief responses or silence, if the question didn't require an answer. When I asked questions about the procedures, she became defensive...and her answers conveyed a condescending tone/attitude. During the part where she was asking "is number one or number two more clear", I was giving clear answers. She suddenly stopped and demanded to know if I had a problem with her. (Oh boy...here we go...) Her demeanor was totally confrontational and somewhat shocking. In response to her demand, I informed her that she was not being very friendly or welcoming. In an angry tone, she expounded that she is "the friendliest person in the office". (Then, the office is in serious trouble.) I laughed. It was ridiculous. Absurd! She suggested I have a different technician. I quickly agreed to that plan. She turned and walked-out...closing the door as she left. So...by then, I was sitting alone, waiting, and began experiencing a lot of anxiety. I wanted to flee the extremely uncomfortable scene...immediately. I did. I will never return.

My wife and I visited this clinic before deciding where we would fill our eyeglass prescriptions. It was here or Costco. As it turned out, we went with MC Family Eye Center (MCFEC, this clinic). They were very professional and worked through my indecision with me. My wife knew what she wanted (Zeiss). Anyway, the staff and docs were great and we will be back. If either of us need a cheaper second pair of glasses as a back up, sure, we'll consider Costco again. However, Costco does not cold mount lenses. That's important to know if you bring your own frames. I'll be asking MCFEC if they do. If so, it's a one-stop shop with a lovely lobby and decent choices for frames. Five stars. ;)

In my 37 years living on this earth, I have never been sued. I got a 4 page court summons for... guess how much... $103.00 balance. I highly encourage everyone to be cautious with their aggressive billing tactics and understand what you're getting yourself into. Or just avoid them and find another "family" oriented eye care professionals in the North Seattle area. Just a friendly warning from a very friendly patient.

First off, the optical staff, technicians, optometrist, are really good. They are nice to the…read morepatients, professional and as far as I can tell competent. They even caught a stigmatism that was missed by my previous eye doctor which made a big difference on how I saw things. Now where star were lost were: 1. I feel as if this clinic kinda nickel and dimes you. Of all the vision clinic's I've been to over the years, this is the only place I can't seem to go to w/o always having to pay for something out of pocket. If it's covered by insurance there's something that they say it isn't and it'll cost you. To top it off, their products are pricey with regards to frames, lenses, contacts, services, etc. My last visit I had at Mill Creek Vision for my annual preventative eye exam, but they got me out of pocket for contact lens fitting (which I thought was covered my insurance, but they claim it isn't), Anyhoo, afterwards I asked for copies of my glasses and contact prescriptions and took them to Costco and purchased all my hardware there (despite jumping through some minor insurance hoops to get my annual hardware allowance back-which I did). Gotta tell ya, definitely more cost effective going that route. 2. But the biggest loss of stars in my rating is due to their front desk staff. A staff that DOES NOT know the meaning of CUSTOMER SERVICE and lacks a certain amount of professionalism. They are very condescending in how they talk and treat their customers. I base this on how they were with me and my family and how I observed them with other customers while I waited. There is one or two who stand out. If you've been there you probably know who I'm talking about. Anyhoo, they will make you feel as if you are interrupting them, putting them out for "Doing their job". They don't always do what is best for the patient/customer so if you don't ask, or question something chances are it'll get overlooked, ignored and you might get over charged or something forgotten. It doesn't help also that they seem to rush you at check in and during check out so they can get back to finger blasting their keyboards or phones. Again based on personal experience. The first three appointments I was able to schedule me and my family for the same day. If there's availability why not? Last time I tried to do it and despite open availability they denied it. Their reason I was told on the phone, they CAN'T schedule more than two family members at a time. WHAT? REALLY? So I ask why not, you've done it before and they tell me that it's policy. I try and continue to ask specifics about this policy and I'm told again, it's their policy and something about cancellation issues. Yeah whatever, I figure they're just being lazy. Policy or not, kinda ridiculous that they can't accommodate two adults and a child on the same day...oh wait a minute they have! but not today. Then there's a test that they do that looks at the back of your eyeball. You'd think it's a test that SHOULD be standard to an eye exam. It is an eye exam after all...it isn't so it'll cost you since it's NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE as part of your PREVENTATIVE CARE. Of course you can pass and instead they dilate your eyes for free I think (or maybe that'll cost you as well, I don't know, but what I do know, I've had that same test in other clinics and it was covered by insurance). Trying to get them to explain results in dirty looks and a mean-girl attitude...an no REAL explanation. So the "face" of the business does not make a good impression and they obviously don't realize that it's just as important as the service provided. This would be my 4th appointment to this vision clinic, but the front desk staff attitude has been pretty much consistent through out. So me and my family will probably be on the look out for another vision clinic. Too bad their front desk staff doesn't have the same customer service skills their optical staff does.

Called and was put on hold for a long time while the staff was checking my insurance. She told me…read moreto call back because she could not verify my insurance. Be very aware that your treatment is based on how much money this office can get from your visit. I saw my insurance statement that they wanted to charge almost 4 times of the insurance allowance. Because they know they would not be able to get the money they want, they treated my eye exam very casually. The tech took two tests that lasted less than 2 minutes. The doc took less than 4 minutes flipping a few charts of 1 better or two better, then wrote my eye exam prescription, which is the exact same as the that of the eye glasses I wore that day. I spent a lot more time signing many documents and waited in front than the total time for the actual eye exam. Do NOT recommend this place to anyone. The practice can be defined as unethical!

We interacted first via zoom call for virtual consult and later I went in for an in-person free consult. He performed thorough testing and was able to schedule me for the same week, which was perfect for my schedule. Overall surgery lasted about 10-15mins but I was at the office in Renton for about 2-3 hours for repeat testing on eyes to make sure they were stable. No issues in surgery and post surgery, while waiting for my spouse was offered more numbing drops. Glad the office was looking out for my well being. Followed up next day with another doctor and was out of the office within 10 mins for a 3-week follow-up. Haven't had any issues so far and got great results. What stood out for me was the last thing Dr. King said, which no doctor has ever said, "Thank you for your trust." Any surgery is stressful to think about, but it's great to see a doctor that values the patient and is meticulous about his work.

Prior to this, I never had glasses (and never had an eye exam). I recently noticed that I was…read morehaving trouble reading projections on the screen, during meetings at work; I decided to check out this place, because it was the first on the list for my insurance. The appointment scheduling was no sweat. I was happy to get my next-day appointment at a reasonable, after work, hour. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by the friendly doctor and staff. After filling out a quick form they took me in and did the exam. Everything went great. She even did the dreaded "blue light" thing (I had no idea what was going on, but my friends later told me my eye was actually being touched by something), and it didn't hurt or cause any irritation. After the doctor flipped through various lenses, she wrote me out a prescription and then explained my insurance glasses allowances. This is where I got a little nervous. I was asking "What is my prescription?" and she would respond with "It's not too bad, but it can be corrected to better." I'm an engineer, so I like to know specs, and after a bit of prodding she finally told me my vision was 20/20, with a slight astigmatism. She was a little defeated sounding as she told me I probably don't need glasses at all, if I don't want them. After I knew the stats, and she mentioned she could correct my eyes to 20/15, I decided to buy some glasses. I mostly wanted crisp vision during meetings, and wasn't looking for continuous wear. They had a wicked clearance deal going on, where certain frames were free with lens purchase. I ended up with a pair for like $20 out of pocket. The lenses were $160--which is a little expensive for low-index lenses... I was not terribly happy that they didn't explain what was included in the $160 lenses. It took over 3 weeks to get my glasses; I called after 2 weeks and they told me my lenses were "delayed" because of a private lab's equipment malfunction. When they "adjusted" my glasses, they didn't get the nose pieces adjusted right, so they don't feel right. The frames the girl helped me pick out squeeze my head fat so it looks a bit weird above my ears. All-in-all, I had a pretty decent experience. I was disappointed by the initial lack of transparency in diagnosis, and also the lack of a clear explanation on what lenses I was ordering, but the price was pretty good with the clearance deal. The wait has been longer than I expected, and I was not terribly pleased with the assistance I received picking out my frames (they ended up being too small). If you know what you want, and are familiar with glasses purchasing, I would imagine this place would be perfectly sufficient. I would avoid it if you're a n00b like myself, and need help.

I ordered a pair of glasses at my annual check up, and was talked into buying warranty; with…read moreinsurance I spent upwards of $500, but I was going to use the glasses for the next two years, so I though it worth. Grave mistake: the frame unscrewed twice and I took it in for reconnection, then the weld broke, they fixed the first time and then the other weld broke. Second time they did not fix it: " it was not under warranty". Upon my inquiry, the answers was rude: "we fixed it once". No further comment, nor a resolution to my issue. Recently they had the nerve of calling me for my check up: fat chance! This business is not honest. I will NEVER use it again. Beware!
