Who doesn't love a good crab Rangoon? This places gives you about 10.... They suck. There's enough filling in all 10 for what should be in 2. So much wrapper so little goodness. Not even worth it. The egg drop soup is completely bland aside from the taste of the carrots in the broth. The ribs were dry and tough and overcooked only being slight saved by the sauce. Pretty good chinese food! This is a small store in a strip mall with a few parking spots located on the corner of Moorpark and Laurel Canyon. I tried the Veggie Dish (just mixed veggies) and also the Kung Pao Tofu. I asked for it spicy and once they added red chilis which was great so I'll have to specify that next time I order! Food is always ready quickly and isn't too heavy or greasy. Veggie Egg rolls are also good. I tried the fried shrimp appetizer as well but didn't love that one. read more

Let me preface this as more of a 3.5 stars than 4. For a Chinese Restaurant that's not in the SGV, this one is alright. The restaurant is situated in a very small plaza right on the corner of Moorpark and Laurel Canyon. Big SUV's might have issues manuevering in and out of the parking lot. The restaurant is on the small side with no frills. Just a simple in and out type of place. Not the cleanest in the world as I had a spider crawling up the wall next to me while I was waiting for food. The staff was super nice and will give you any assistance if you can't decide. Their lunch specials are priced from $7.99 and that includes soup, a medium lunch portion, rice and an egg roll. I opted for the double mushroom chicken with egg flour soup and also ordered their Wor Wonton Soup because someone on Yelp gave it good reviews. Wait time was about 5 minutes, so not bad. The egg drop soup had good flavor, but I was still able to smell the dish soap from the bowl. That kind of put a wrench in the soup, but other than that, the soup was pretty good. The Wor Wonton Soup came out next and for a medium sized soup, it was pretty big. Big enough that I was full from just that and had to take home my double mushroom chicken for dinner. So the soup looked and tasted like it was made from a vegetable stock. Nice and clean and very tasty. The wonton, however, was not the best. Definitely skimped on the stuffing as with most Chinese restaurants that are not in an Asian community. If anyone thinks that this is how wonton is supposed to be, you guys are in for a rude awakening when you have real wonton. It was mostly wrapper with little bits of meat. It didn't really have good flavor. If they would have called this vegetable soup and took off the wonton, I would have been completely fine with that. The double mushroom chicken, however, was quite tasty. It wasn't overly sauced and I love that it had shitake & regular mushrooms and water chestnuts. The chicken was tender and the sauce was flavorful. I would definitely order this again. Overall, I would definitely come back here because it's cheap and the food was tasty. read more

Found this hidden gem while just driving around looking for food. We don't live too close and in their delivery zone but totally worth the 15 mins drive. This place reminds me of Chinese restaurants from NYC. Food was sooooo delicious and was still piping hot when we got home. I think we ordered at least 5 dishes for just the two of us. My dad loves this place. I think he eats here once a week during work. He takes me here sometimes when we're in the neighborhood. They have a great lunch special deal. You pick any entree. It comes with rice, your choice of soup or salad, egg roll and a drink. The price is so cheap... I think like 8.99?? Don't remember exactly. The shredded pork is good. All their seafood dishes taste really fresh. The service is great too. Really friendly people working here. Parking lot is small and the restaurant is smaller. I love the Kung pow shrimp moo also delicious lunch specials for $10 including soup including a drink for $10.60 you get everything, nice big portions. The food is very fresh. The soup is delicious. Perhaps it's because I'm from the East Coast that I can't seem to find a great Chinese takeout since moving to LA. I thought for sure after reading all of these glowing reviews that this food would be bomb. It was trash. What I ordered: Sweet + Sour Chicken: They drenched my chicken in the sauce- the sauce was gross. I'm also used to the sauce always being on the side- so the chicken is crispy. This is not a bad rating of the food. It is a 1 star rating in the delivery service. The driver was so rude. He didn't say hi, hello or anything when he approached my door. He stuck out his hand with my order on a paper and said "sign this". I looked at him for a minute because I couldn't believe how rude he was. I took the paper and I signed the paper...he gave me my food said, "here". I made a frustrated noise as I closed my door and made a mental note to never order from this establishment again. When I looked at my food inside the plastic bag all of the sauce from my chicken order was all over everything in the bag. I was so upset because there was no reason why my food should look like this... it was tossed all over and everything was covered in sauce. My fried shrimp were soggy and my chicken teriyaki had no sauce because it was all in the bottom of the bag and covering everything else in the bag. I promptly called the restaurant and complained. The guy in the phone asked me what I wanted and I told him that if I ate at the restaurant my food would not have come to my table this way so I told him to come pick up the food and refund me my money plus tip. He said he would have the food picked up and refund my money. He was very apologetic, understanding and didn't give me a hard time. He was thankful for my call and was happy to hear how his worker delivers food. I've been eating here since I moved to LA 11 years ago and I guess I never wrote a review because I wanted to gate keep this place because it's so good... but I saw some crappy reviews recently and felt I needed to say something. This place is consistently excellent. Anytime I eat at another spot I'm always disappointed bc it just doesn't compare to Rice Wok! All their plates are great but I love the spicy garlic chicken, orange chicken, and all their soups. All their sauces are homemade. Everything is fresh. They have a great lunch special too. It really doesn't look like much but the online delivery menu and plenty of pictures and was very easy to navigate (might be yelp but the pictures helped immensely). The delivery came wayyy earlier than expected which was awesome! Very friendly delivery guy that followed our delivery note perfectly. The portions are massive! For that price, it's ridiculous. It took 5 years of living in Los Angeles to find steamed dumplings this good. Good lord, just order them. They have a chicken filling. Hot and Sour soup is delicious and cheap. The crispy noodles are a dollar extra, so if you want them, just keep that in mind. It's small inside and lunch you pay $7.95 and get a ton of food plus a drink. Lunch ends at 4 so get there before. This place makes a mean Wonton soup. I also had the Beef Pepper Steak with a side of their vegetable chow mien. The noodles they use for the chow mien are nice and thick and they don't skimp out on the veggies. The Beef Pepper Steak was nice and tender and the peppers were hot and juicy. You can really taste the effort this place puts into their food. I've been here on two occasions and they have both ended with a full stomach. I'll def come back. Normally Chinese food is not my first choice but this place has made me actually crave Chinese food. Its the first time I have eaten Chinese food and felt like I was getting quality food for a great price! Their Mongolian beef was delicious! The meat was so tender and it was full of flavor! Their hot and spicy soup was missing salt but once we added some soy sauce it was perfect; i think they do it on purpose so you can add however much you want to your liking . The restaurant did not deliver my order, and kept hanging up on me when I called to find out the status. In the past, if a restaurant was unable to deliver, they at least had the courtesy to call me. This place has been my go to for years. I placed an order today and asked them for orange chicken, kung pao chicken, and broccoli chicken. They sent me everything with sauce on side. When I called them to ask why my order looks like this the owner the lady said you asked for sauce on side. I said no I did not.
