This sweet little restaurant is in my new neighborhood and I've been meaning to check it out. Then my handyman told me it's really good and that he eats there whenever he's working in the area. He's one of the smartest guys I know so I decided to finally go. It did not disappoint. It's a quaint indoor restaurant with a relatively small seating area. I got my food to go and the speed in which my order came out of the kitchen was lightening fast! The man who took my order - I'm assuming the owner - was so friendly and helpful. I asked him for his personal recommendation and he asked if I liked spicy (I do) and he said the garlic chicken. I got the garlic chicken and cheese wontons and they were both great. The wontons were nice and crispy - not soggy like most end up when you get them to go. The garlic chicken was packed with veggies and the sauce wasn't overly heavy. This place used to be good. Looked forward to eating here. Came in and ordered two dishes. One of them was of average quality and taste, the other was inedible. When I told the woman server about it she graciously offered to replace it with something else, which would be prepared 'to go'. I said that would be fine and ordered an order that is almost impossible to screw up: sweet and sour chicken. When I got home and opened the container I found a bunch of soggy, limp, apparently half-cooked chicken in a watery puddle. I then put the mess in the oven for 20 minutes to finish cooking it. I ate some, and an hour later got the runs. I certainly will never stop here again for a meal and recommend that you don't either unless you want bad, generic American-Asian slop. If you've read my reviews, you'd know Chinese food (or any Asian food) is not a favorite of mine. So I'm not sure why but I was craving Sesame chicken, which I've pretty much given up on (first time I ever had this dish, it was absolutely perfect, yet nothing since has ever compared). First thing has nothing to do with the place, but I found a spot in the small lot (which is good), but next to a disgusting cigarette smoking person who had all their windows down, blowing smoke out everywhere. I ran into the restaurant which looked empty from outside due to the windows but was actually busy. My food was ready at the counter, and the people working here seemed nice. I had to laugh because as I went to run back to the car, the guy followed me out, lighting up and I wonder if my presence encouraged people to do this. As for the food, this was just okay. I don't know why I keep trying sesame chicken when I know I'm never going to find it as good as when I first had it. The egg rolls with the sweet sauce they bring out and the soy sauce together were super yummy. I tried the orange fish, and was not disappointed. It said it was spicy on the menu, but it really wasn't, so don't worry about it being too hot. The portion looks a little small, but there's actually a lot on the plate, and was more than enough. The food was straightforward and good, it wasn't the best Chinese but for what you pay it's pretty decent.
