Everything about this place screams mediocre. Not terrible if you're in a bind and the portions are rather large, but the food is simply underwhelming. Meh. read more

When I was a kid I never had Chinese food. But then I grew up , so now I can do what I want. When I want Chinese food, I buy it with my money. Forever can't be long enough, you know? So take my advice! When you want it, don't stop - get it get it. read more

This is decent, fast Chinese-American food at a reasonable price. One big warning: it is very salty. The hot and sour soup had good flavor, but it was a salt bath. My sesame chicken was good and not too sweet. It's hard to find decent Chinese food in Denton, and this is pretty much what you would expect from a Chinese takeout restaurant in a medium-sized Texas town; it's not bad when you don't feel like cooking. read more

I ordered the sesame chicken with fried rice and one egg roll. The food was hot and the egg roll was good. The gave a various generous portions with the chicken and rice. The sesame chicken was not that good, unfortunately it had a really weird taste to it. I will not be returning back, it made my stomach hurt to where I ended up throwing away about 90% of the food. read more

This place deserves a zero!! Absolutely no customer service. The girl took my order wrong and when I got to the window, a male was rude as if it was my fault. I wanted to leave then as the lady appeared dirty and pregnant with a horrible attitude not once smiling or saying thank you. I ordered lunch portion of shrimp fried rice and an extra egg roll($10.78) but when I asked for sweet and sour sauce I was told it would be ..75. I called and asked for the manager to explain my treatment. Be hung up in my face not saying a word except that the employee was right. After all that...the food was horrific as well. NEVER..NEVER..NEVER AGAIN read more

It's just a typical Chinese restaurant, nothing special. I got the sesame chicken, orange chicken, and steamed rice. I was not at all over impressed with any of it. read more

Way too expensive, there is always an extra charge for substitutions, and they charge you a dollar extra for 4 I repeat FOUR small pieces of tofu. They are stingy with the meats, and overall this food is mediocre! Their customer service sucks. My broccoli was yellow instead of green. Save your money unless you want to pay $8 for a large portion of mediocre noodles and no meat. read more

I love the honey sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken (which you can get individually or together as part of the Dragon Phoenix dish), hot and sour soup, and especially the crab rangoon, and I find that their portion sizes are well worth the price. I always pay a bit extra to get a container of the sweet and sour sauce for my crab rangoon, and I use leftover for chicken I cook at home. Since the COVID-19 situation has had me mostly isolated at home, I've ordered from here twice through DoorDash, and the order was right; and the food was fresh and excellent each time. And that's in addition to driving all the way across town on occasion over the past couple of years because I crave their food sometimes, and I've never had a problem. I'm not saying that people are making stuff up or complain too much necessarily, but I have a hard time understanding why this restaurant is not rated higher than it is. I do remember reading a review that stated management had changed over the past few years, so maybe I'm hitting the place while times are good. Whatever the case, I will keep ordering from here as long as the quality of their food and service remains as great as it has been for me. read more

Absolutely great cashew chicken. Not a great fan of the sauce, but trade the sauce out for some other sauce and this is one of my favorite dishes in all of Dallas. read more

Called 45 mins before they closed on a Friday night to order some rice but without asking what my order was they said it was too late. I asked why if they weren't closed for another 45. They just said sorry and hung up on me read more

Love the food I got a spicy lo mein I just wish they would blend the spicy sauce I hate that I had to keep crunching on the seeds. But it has such great flavor. I recommend this place read more

They deliver and the food is delicious!! Very large servings and you can make 2 meals out of one entree. Love the Kung Pao Chicken. You can ask for extra spicy if you like it that way. Egg rolls are delicious as well as the Edamame. Very affordable for the amount of food you get as well as the quality!! read more

The lo-mein is delicious! Great customer service and food came out pretty fast! Inside is big and clean. Great place for lunch or dinner!

My family and I were in town for the weekend visiting a family friend. This restaurant is next to our hotel so we decided to give it a try. The establishment was clean and the man that took our order was nice. I placed a very large order for the entire family. It took about 20 minutes or so which was expected. The quality of the food was amazing. Everything was fresh, the portions were huge. We had the sesame chicken, egg rolls, chicken wings, sweet and sour chicken, combo lomein, and shrimp fried rice. This entire trip to Denton has been enjoyable. The quality of food here made it even better. Will definitely be back if I come thru again. read more

First time visit. Staff was both helpful and polite. Restaurant was clean (tables, floor, service counters, etc). Interior was not cluttered with a lot of artifacts which tend to collect dust and debris, which in other establishments are never cleaned. Ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice. Was very pleased with the food, however my personal preference calls for more spice to this dish. Only negative is that the plastic utensils are a little flemsy and sized more for the small child. This is a minor detail and will not deter me from adding this restaurant to my short list of frequently visited eateries. read more

The only good thing I can say is they deliver. We ordered hot and sour soup, and it was very bland. For entrees we had beef and broccoli, combination lo mein, and Mongolian beef. The beef and broccoli was mediocre at best. The noodles in the lo mein were good but the dish was without flavor. The Mongolian beef was awful. It was mostly onion with maybe 4 or 5 pieces of beef. The portions were of a good size. We will not be ordering from here again. read more

I have had two bad lunch experiences at two different places this week, and this place seems to have started the bad lunch karma chain. This once reliable place had good food and good service, but within the 6 months since I've been there, this place went to hell in a handwoven Chinese bamboo basket quickly. Both my husband and I are Vegan, when we eat out we, at times allow ourselves to be vegetarian. Hubby ordered his usual vegetable fried rice while I opted for the vegetable delight (#10) with tofu which states in parentheses on the menu to be added by request. I went to place my order and told the lady that I wanted a #10 with tofu. She, I kid you not, asked me if I wanted to add chicken to that. I looked at her and said that I requested tofu. She looked confused and put it in anyways, then I ordered my hubby's dish which apparently was more normal as she had no confusion about that and I paid and we sat down. Hubby's dish comes out first. I wait for mine. And wait. Two people order, a person is waited on at the drive thru and someone comes in to pick up their call in order before she finally decides to bring my plate that has been sitting at the window out to me. It arrives, unfortunately. I would have rather she just left it there and we all forgot that it ever existed. Oh but no, it was my misfortune to have not only the hottest damn brown sauce (temperature related), but to have it underneath the most overcooked vegetables (if thats what they were) on the planet. Next to it, a glop of steamed rice that tasted as if it had been cooked in dishwater. I now see why their was confusion about tofu. It was hacked into large cubes, thrown in, not seared or soaked in sauce for flavor. It was thrown onto the plate as an after thought. It was mushy and just gross. If you want a nice vegetable tofu dish I always recommend Pei Wei. Hubbys dish wasn't much better. He said the water chestnuts tasted as if they were soaked in vinegar. After my meal, it wouldn't surprise me if they were just rancid. I will have to say that the decor and cleanliness have remained to a nice standard (thus the one extra star)...too bad the food hasn't received the same attention. read more

We have been ordering food from Rice Wok Express for a long time and we have always had a positive experience, until tonight. I even gave them a 5 star rating here a couple years ago. That all changed tonight. Called in for a delivery order at 6:20, finally got the last of our food at 8:45. It took an hour and a half to get the entrees, soup, and eggrolls, then another 55 minutes for them to bring the cold rice they forgot the first time. It took 2 hours and 20 minutes to get all our food. So my family could sit down and have dinner. Had to reheat everything because it was all cold after 2 hours and 20 minutes. All I got was a sorry it took so long its been a crazy night when the driver showed up the first time and then a sorry I forgot the rice the second time. Poorest customer service I have seen in a long time. Never again. I will order from either Pho Asian Star or Rice Pot Express when I need food delivered and if I am going out it'll be Gobi. Sorry Rice Wok Express but have lost a customer. read more

The only reason I am giving this restaurant a two star rating is their egg drop soup. It is very tasty as far as egg drop soups go at fast food chinese places. However, I was mostly disappointed in the quality of the food. I got beef with broccoli and the beef was chewy and dry, and the fried rice is advertised on the menu to come with 'scallions, eggs, carrots, and peas'. I got an entire order of fried rice and there was not one pea, carrot, or scallion to be found in both mine and my daughters' dinners. I got the rice to go once more with the soup and it's NOT fried rice. It's brown rice with a fleck or two of egg. Not a favorite for sure. Also, the noodles that come with the soup have been stale every time I've ordered it. The service was slow and it took longer than I would expect a fast food chain to perform. Certainly doesn't live up to 'express'. This place is ok in a pinch, but not anything special. read more

Hey. This is takeout chinese fast food. I love it and eat here at least 3 times per week. I usually have the broccoli chicken or string bean chicken, so haven't tried everything on the menu. But it's always been good and met my expectations. read more

I have had nothing but great food and service here. Best take out in Denton for Chinese by far. Fresh food, made when you order, not cheap and gritty tasting like other buffet places in town. Great flavor. Recommended. read more

Ordered for the first time tonight for delivery. I ordered Moo Goo Gai Pan and Orange Chicken. My Moo Goo was bland and the chicken did not taste fresh. The Orange Chicken is another story. This is supposed to be boneless chicken however we found a deep fried large bone mixed in. I was wondering why my roomate wasn't eating her food. Apparently she found a HAIR too in one of the pieces of chicken deep fried! She waited until I was through eating to tell me. I spoke to the manager about it. He said its a family restaurant and have never had that happen. He wanted me to show him the hair and bone as if I were lying to him! He stated they order the boneless chicken from somewhere else but it was impossible to have has a bone in it. He said he would give me a credit for another orange chicken. I told him its made me sick just knowing about the bone and hair and will never go back there. He said maybe I should go to the hospital if I'm sick! I asked for the orange chicken to be refunded on my credit card but he refused! I am appalled at the way I was treated! I paid 20.00 for my meal only to have to throw it all in the trash! This manager/ owner does NOT have good values as far as the importance of a customer and keeping repeat business. I wanted good food that I could eat but instead got treated poorly and wasted my money! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.. read more
