1st time trying Vietnamese food and I gotta say wow. The waiter was great with his suggestions and advice on what to eat. The food was phenomenal and served quick and hot. Definitely a place I'll revisit.

Good food. Understand this is a very authentic Asian place so service is different, but still very good. The setting is comfortable and great for families. The food comes in healthy portions and is good. We started off with spring rolls, which were decent, and then I had lemongrass pork, which I enjoyed very much. My wife had the shaky beef ( Bo luc lac), which was so so. There are better places for shaky beef.

This spot always has a line and the wait can be long, which says a lot about how popular it still is. We ordered the bánh xèo, pho, Thai iced tea, and young coconut drink. The pho was decent but leaned a bit salty for my taste. The drinks, however, were on point--especially the Thai iced tea, which was refreshingly not too sweet and thankfully not overloaded with half-and-half like many other places. The bánh xèo came out nice and crispy, though I was thrown off by the canned brown mushrooms embedded inside. Overall, it was a different experience from when I first started coming here back in 2015, when it was my go-to spot. It feels like the dishes have become more Americanized over time, with flavors toned down compared to what made this place special before. Sad to see, but still worth trying if you're curious.

Busy and crowded space Service is okay. Some foods are excellent and some are okay and not up to the standard.

This was my first time visiting Rice Paper. My friend and I only had to wait 10 minutes so we were able to get a seat fairly quick. While other people who came in after us didn't get a table until after we left. The menu has a variety of dishes with a somewhat high price point compared to other local Vietnamese food spots. I got the Bun Bo Hue and my friend got the Bun Thit Nuong. My portion was good but the bowl that it came in was not great for eating soups. The food was okay - service was also just okay. The thing that bothered me the most was the loud dance music, it was a little overwhelming to eat and try to have a conversation while loud music was playing in the background.

Looking for a late dinner in Eden Center, so not as many options available. Despite closing in an hour, they were pretty busy and accepting new diners. There was a good amount of seating, but didn't feel crowded despite every table being filled. Their menu is large with options for everyone. I do concur with earlier reviews indicating the appetizers are a bit pricy and that with regards to water, they charge you bottled water ($1.50). The food and service was good though! They also accept credit card here.

I must admit, I have somewhat of a bone to pick with Rice Paper given the first time I tried to dine there, they had posted that they would be closed until May 10th. When my party arrived on May 11th, excitedly awaiting our dinner at a place that had come so highly recommended to us, the owners had scribbled out the initial "May 10th" date on the sign and rewritten "May 11th." Well, we'll (try to) pay that no mind, as I had the opportunity to try Rice Paper on a separate, later occasion. Located in the famous Eden Center in Falls Church (a market quite saturated with great Vietnamese food), Rice Paper has stood the test of time as one of NoVa's best Vietnamese restaurants, with a slightly more upscale vibe. The exterior is unassuming, but numerous culinary accolades and awards line the nondescript windows. Inside, the space is small yet cozy, with exposed brick walls and fun hanging lights. At around 6pm on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was about full, so our party of three was seated immediately (though the same cannot be said for weekends here, so come early!). The menu has plenty of options for everyone, ranging from well-known classics like pho, bun, and spring rolls, to more adventurous traditional Vietnamese fare, such as roasted quail soup and pork blood congee. Our server was more than happy to walk us through her recommendations! Two members of our party decided to split the Rice Paper Combo Platter ($25), which comes with a plethora of different options for those that want to try a bit of everything. It's a make-your-own rice paper roll dish, with grilled seafood, grilled pork, and grilled ground beef wrapped in grape leaves served with a side of thin vermicelli patties, fresh lettuce, cucumbers, pickled carrots, and daikon radish, all topped with a sprinkling of peanuts and a lovely tangy fish sauce for dipping. The seafood was shrimp and salmon, I believe, which were both cooked and seasoned quite well! The pork was succulent and tender, and the beef was quite unique, wrapped in an herbal grape leaf, retaining a great amount of moisture. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, adding a nice acidity and textural contrast to the rolls (especially along with the peanuts!). The assembly portion of it all is fun and novel: you dip the rice paper wraps in warm water, and then place toppings of your liking within the damp paper, and roll it up! They also opted to share an order of their Tom Rang Muoi, which was fried and salted shrimp served in shells, with a lovely helping of acidic, sweet-and-sour vegetable salad. The shrimp itself was perfectly fried - not too greasy nor overly cooked, and quite easy to de-shell. The salad was bright and refreshing, with green and red onions, lettuce, and bits of cilantro! Lastly, I chose a bowl of their Banh Canh Tom Cua ($17), which is described as a "fat rice noodle in thick soup with shrimp cake and crab meat." This was really a pleasant surprise...the soup is delectably savory, thickened with a tapioca starch slurry, making it filling and hearty. The noodles are truly fat and delicious, with a bouncy "QQ" texture, soaking up all the complex seafood flavors of the broth. Lastly, the shrimp cake tastes similar to something you might get at Chinese hot pot, and while I couldn't really discern any crab meat, I could taste the flavor in the broth, and they didn't even mention that there were a couple pieces of large shrimp in my bowl! This was quite a generous portion of a dish that you can't find very often in the States, so it was well worth it, in my opinion. The prices are slightly elevated compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, but you're paying for the critical acclaim garnered over years of patronage, as well as the cleaner, more visually-appealing interior. My one big complaint is that they don't serve tap water - you have to pay extra for bottled (so don't get anything too spicy...). Service is brusque but still happy to help out with any questions, the menu is extensive, with plenty of unique options to sample, and the food is flavorful and truly some of the best in the area...I will certainly return to sample some of their other items!

Rice Paper is certainly a local favorite for good reason. The menu offers a wonderful variety, and every dish we ordered was delicious. The service, however, was a 5 out of 10.

2.22.25 Located in Eden Center. Their entrees are hearty. The entrees we ordered, com tam dac biet and com ga roti, are enough for two servings. Staff are friendly and attentive. I haven't been to this restaurant in several years, but it still remains one of my favorites at Eden. Highly recommend. It's top notch all around.

Back with the relatives again for a goodbye meal. Situated in Eden Center, so it was bustling on a Friday night. Many tables were occupied, but service was still quick. The appetizers Uncle chose were nice. Both the chicken wings and the quail had a very similar salty marinade, but nice as a starter none the less. The "Cơm Tấm" (broken rice) is sort of a sample platter of different items you can try on one plate. A lot to eat. Not all of it was my jam, but I chose this dish exactly because I wanted to sample, and go outside of the 'comfort zone', because you never know when your new favorite food will come around. Not mind-blowing, but overall I thought it was a pleasant meal. Chopsticks are seemingly imported from the evil empire of Russia. If you want to boycott them, then use a fork and spoon!!! The catch is, you may not get chopsticks by default anyway, as we didn't, but furthermore, Uncle lashes you with reeds soaked in chili pepper you if you even dare to touch silverware. Choose wisely.

Came here for dinner and it was alright. I feel like it wasn't as good as it used to be. They have a huge menu with all the Vietnamese food you can think of from rice dishes, to noodles etc. I got a noodle dish and it was good. The portion was big but not sure it would be worth it for me to come back. They charge $1.5 for water which is insane to me. We also got the spring rolls which were good. It was pretty empty on a tuesday night.

I'm honestly surprised this place is as busy as it is, because the food and service were both a letdown. My daughter always orders phở whenever we go to a Vietnamese restaurant, and even she said it wasn't good. My other daughter had Bun Bo Hue and she only ate half. The overall flavor just wasn't there. Other dishes were too salty. The service didn't help either. Our server dropped off the food and never came back--not once. I couldn't even ask for fresh-cut chili peppers. It felt like we were completely forgotten the moment the dishes hit the table. To make things worse, the bill automatically included a 20% tip, with no option to adjust it. For service that barely existed, that felt unreasonable. The prices were already high, so being forced into a steep tip on top of that just added to the frustration. Overall, the food was disappointing, the service was poor, and the pricing didn't match the quality. I won't be returning. BTW, if you want to eat Bun Bo Hue, try Truong Tien Restaurant inside the plaza. You won't be disappointed.

Every time I dine here, the customer service has been consistently excellent, and the food is always top-notch!

Drinks are also really good! Food highlights have been the fried chicken, crispy whole fish, eggplant dip. Drinks are unique, my favorite is Garden in the Sky. However, their service and timing could be improved. Between the two visits, issues included: - seated 20 minutes past our reservation. No proactive updates from the host, had to keep going up to ask. - waiting at least 15 minutes just for our server to come by for our drink order and water. At that point we just ordered everything. - drinks (both visits) are extremely slow to come out of the bar. Both visits had to ask the server where they were. We were getting them almost 30 minutes after receiving food And also - there is a booth-style table right at the entrance of the main dining area. They shouldn't seat parties of 6 here - the people not seated in the booth are partially blocking the entrance, and it was extremely uncomfortable. I think the food here definitely lives up to the hype, but if they really want a special restaurant they need to work on some service basics.

That was a big mistake because Truong Tien is inside and it is amazing! My son and I started with Banh Beo Nhan Kho Tom Chay, a dish of steamed rice cake topped with fried shallots, dried powdered shrimp (prawn floss) and chicharron which you then can top with a spicy sauce. They come in little tiny dishes that you can kind of slurp the rice cake from like an oyster. The combination of textures and temperatures and flavors was delicious - and not too filling as a starter. We wanted to have a Banh Khoai Nuoc Leo (crispy pancake taco-like dish with a dipping sauce) but they were out for the day (we were there at about 4pm) so instead we had vermicelli bowls (Bun Nem Nuong) with Asian style sausage and fried spring rolls. Topped with peanuts and fish sauce, it was fresh and delicious. The host greets you warmly and offers ice water, hot or iced tea (complimentary) and the restaurant decor is absolutely beautiful. There's also a gorgeous display of food for sale near the register, including fried bananas and donut/beignet sort of treats. Our server seemed a bit impatient and abrupt when taking our order (we asked how many spring rolls come in each order, and added beef meatballs to one of our pho orders), but we were mainly there for the food. The space itself is roomy, casual and comfortable, with tables spaced and seated far enough apart to not feel crowded. We started with the pork and taro spring rolls, which came out hot, cut in half, and impressively crispy! (Just as a heads up so you don't get scolded like we did - the pork and taro spring rolls come with two per order, and the price for both is a great deal compared to most pho establishments!) For our mains, we ordered three pho bowls and one dry noodle dish. The pho arrived warm, and adding bean sprouts cooled it down further rather than cooking them through. The dry noodle dish, on the other hand, was excellent in flavor, though also not very hot - likely due to the fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber) mixed in. Overall, a solid, filling meal, even if the service and the temperature of the food could be improved. Why this deserves 5 stars: When you return to the same restaurant for over a decade, it's because they're doing everything right. The consistency in food quality, the authentic flavors, the warm hospitality - all of it has kept us coming back year after year.
