So when I talk about Delta barbecue, I'm coming from a place of love... and pretty high standards. Abe's is part legend, part myth, and all Crossroads. If it's your first visit, let me save you some confusion: yes, the tamales are one of the signature items at a barbecue joint. And yes, they're every bit as good as you've heard. I get mine with chili, slaw, and crackers, and I'll happily eat enough of them to make myself miserable--in the best possible way. Then it's time for a chili cheese dog, a pig sandwich with slaw, and enough sweet tea to float a jon boat. It's probably a good thing I only pass through Clarksdale every couple of months on the drive between New Orleans and my hometown. If I lived closer, my doctor and my waistband would both have something to say about it. This place is famous throughout the Delta for a reason. I've been stopping at Abe's for over three decades, and it has never disappointed.

The servers were so nice, always with a smile. I wasn't even upset I couldn't find espresso anywhere between Memphis and New Orleans because they were so nice and everything tasted great, even the drip coffee. Homemade brownies same day. Nothing gluten-free but the Caesar salad -no croutons- was a fantastic choice. So healthy and fresh and delicious. Thank you! Super clean and looks like a place where the businessmen around these parts come to do business outside of the office. Not exactly what I was expecting in Clarksdale after walking around a very deserted almost ghost town of a place, but very very happy to have found them on Yelp! Thank you for being on Yelp!

The price for the meals and sides were very reasonable, almost too reasonable. The bathroom was out of soap but they quickly replaced it.
