OMG! I ordered Pork Egg Foo Yung to go yesterday and it was absolutely the best I have ever had. I could not stop eating it! It was at the perfect temperature and it was delicious. The pork was clean, there was no grizzle in it or chewy fat gobs. The rice and sauce that came with it were perfection. This is going to be my new go to! I have not eaten inside the restaurant, but the price for buffet made my eyes pop, it's a great deal! The interior is adorable, it's totally an old-fashioned Mom and Pop traditional kind of a place and I just love the vibe in there. I love that there's a place that hasn't gotten all upscale and chi chi and tripled the prices you know. It's not new and shiny, but the place has character and I appreciate the authentic elegance. Don't let appearances fool you. I nearly drove off after peaking inside. I'm glad I stayed. I would give it 4 stars if the ice cream station and sushi stations were better stocked. However the other items in the buffet were really good. They have a wide variety of dishes (unlike other buffets that just have a dozen chicken entrees). What struck me was how good each dish tasted. They didn't all taste the same. Each item had its own unique flavor and I really enjoyed it. If in town again I would certainly consider them again. I always enjoy my meal here. The buffet is clean and the food fresh. The staff is always running around keeping it up, yelling in Chinese. It's also the only place in Batesville you can get something resembling sushi (as of end of 2014, though Yamato is supposed to be opening in 2015). Basic Chinese buffet, I had a shrimp that still had blood in it the last time I was there. Ruined the meal for me and I had to make myself throw up in the parking lot. The fried rice and sweet and sour chicken are going to be your go to at a place like this stay away from the seafood. Egg drop soup was okay enough to satisfy my craving of it. This is not one of the mega-buffets as there are in some towns, but it is pretty good. They do not have the selection you may be looking for, but what they do have is pretty good. It is not a good idea to go there for the sushi though, as the sushi bar is usually empty and they are not good about filling it back up and if they do, the selection is not that great. The thing that stands out the most about this place is the service and the friendly staff. I have never received bad service here, and they get to know their regulars. I will start by saying I am taking into account the type of food establishment this restaurant is and grading according to category. Being a buffet style restaurant you wouldn't expect exceptional food, but I was pleasantly surprise for the majority of what I sampled. The price is fair at under $10 for an adult with water to drink. The prior reviews mentioning the staff were spot on as my drink glass was never lower than half full and I was kindly checked on but not too aggressively. The only good complaints I have are the peel and eat shrimp were bland and kind of soggy. If you're not a fan of intact shrimp entrails, these are not for you. Also the chicken and broccoli was a tad rubbery and could use a spice or two. The restaurant was clean and inviting, but the cliche and cheesy interior design is fairly average for most Chinese buffets, so nothing really new there. Overall for a buffet it ranks as average and I would return here to eat again. It may not be breaking culinary boundaries but like I said in the beginning, I'm grading based on category. Final thought: It may be on the menu on different days,but I would love to see General Tso's chicken as an option should I visit batesville again. read more

The decorating is cliche, but the food is amazing. It is probably the best Chinese food I've ever had in the States. The prices are very fair. The workers are nice, polite and HAWTT. However, I feel as though the clothes the waitress was wearing were ugly and inappropriate. The food was HAWTT and yummy...! The ice cream was the BEST ice cream ever. Typical Asian buffet place, but with less healthy options than expected. Meat and noodles were good, but there were limited vegetable options and all veggies were literally swimming in oil.
