The only restaurant we found was China King Buffet! No i did not expect much, being Chinese. My chinese food expectation is much higher-boy, the chef and his wife proved me wrong. I told them i wanted "authentic Chinese food". We were in treat with all these amazing, pipi g hot Chinese dishes coming out of that kitchen. Thank you guys we made our Christmas day a very special day!!!

We started with Bayou shrimp, southwest egg rolls and cheese sticks then had a filet and the catfish parm for entrees. The steak was one of the best I've had, including $100+ per person restaurants. The appetizers were great and I thought it was a cool spot to get a drink and watch the game. I came back to the same spot Feb 2026 and I must say ordering my own food let me know the variety of what they offer. The buffalo chicken dip was excellent with the chips. My nephew and niece enjoyed the tuna. The platter of crawfish was astounding and I could see why it was a favorite. My salad was so hearty that I couldn't even finish it all. I see why this place is a local favorite! The seating allowed for cozy date type as well as a get together fun type. The owner was very personable and well liked by the patrons.

I got the filet mignon steak and shrimp. The shrimp was a definite 5 stars. I thought the steak was going to be a big piece of steak. However, it was cut up in small pieces. Still good though. My rice was good and they brought a good portion to me but it got kind of cold before I could eat all of it. My waiter didn't bring us our salad and soup which came with our meal. I had to ask for it. Whether he forgot it or didn't want to bring it not - I will never know. Anyway, it was kind of expensive to eat here. Bring at least $30 per person if you come here. You will enjoy it like I did. Yes, I recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was set up to handle small to large groups of people. Now the food. I can't review everything because our party was so big I didn't get feedback on all the dishes. The lobster ragoon was the best thing I had. The filling was creamy and the lobster gave a nice flavor compared to the crab that the dish is generally made with. The miso soup had a different flavor that I couldn't quite place. I was not a fan. I tried 2 sushi rolls: sweet potato and shrimp tempura. Both had a brown colored sauce on them that was similar to eel sauce which I usually like but this sauce was not good. The steak that the hubs had was overcooked and tough. The side salad was really good. The rice was savory and fresh. When we eat out in Mississippi, I don't think I would choose Yamato again. It just wasn't that good. The service is what saved the star rating.

The fried shrimp came with sweet and sour sauce on the side. The butterflied shrimp tasted like it was freshly battered and fried to order. The happy family dish is a medley of fresh veggies and a variety of meat, in a light gravy, perfect tout over rice. The curry chicken has a light curry gravy, good over rice too. The Hunan shrimp is a darker soy sauce based gravy with a very small amount of heat. I asked for chili pepper sauce on the side to make the Hunan dish just a little spicier. The restaurant space is attached to the Alamatt Motel. The motel and restaurant space is a throwback to the 1950s. The property is clean and well kept, and a little bit original retro.

Our drinks stayed refilled without us ever having to ask, and she consistently checked on us throughout the meal. When our food was brought out, she was right behind the server making sure everything was correct and asking if we needed anything else. That level of service really stood out. The food was delicious, and I especially loved the chips and salsa and the queso dip. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and our meal was excellent from start to finish.
