Surf Bagel in Milton, Delaware, is a bright colorful place to start the day. Plenty of windows,…read morehigh ceiling and large well made bagels give you a choice of how you want your morning to begin. I was driving from Bucks County to Newport News to visit family over the New Year's holiday and Surf was my first stop about a third of the way to my destination. I wanted to buy a half dozen for the family to enjoy for the next few days. I hadn't counted on the Christmas break causing this shop to be full on a Tuesday morning and low on bagel inventory. But, it was, so my options were limited. My first choices (onion and sesame) were gone, so it fell to secondary availability to meet the need. A few garlic, poppy and plain rounders would have to do. Still, these were quite good; well textured semi-hard skin with softer chewy bread within. Taste was forceful (particularly the garlic) and with toasting, cream cheese or butter and slice of Gruyère, enjoyable. Strong brewed coffee complemented it as hoped. Service was friendly and helpful and appropriately apologetic for lacking my desired flavors. Not their fault that they were so busy on a holiday week. Good for them. Surf is definitely a bagel stop to make on a quieter day when they wouldn't be nearly sold out before noon! 4 Fat Bagel Stars

She was slow and kept getting distracted every time another man came to the bar talking and giggling with them. Leaving all the customers waiting. I have never seen anything like it, her service was a disgrace to the restaurant. Bad Business!

I'm literally from Point Pleasant, NJ - home of the original Jersey Mike's - so I remember when…read moreJersey Mike's meant quality. Not so much anymore. I consistently get subpar subs at this location (and others). A $10 sub should not be skinny and filled with $3 worth of meat and cheese. Picture is of a #9 Club SUPREME! $10 and I got a single slice of roast beef?! Tired of getting ripped off. Sad to say that I'm deleting the app and moving on. Maybe they should spend less on advertising and more on caring what they sell to their customers.

I've always enjoyed Jersey Mike's, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I…read moreaccidentally placed a $34 mobile order at the wrong location and realized my mistake immediately. I followed the instructions on Jersey Mike's website, which say to call the store where the order was placed to cancel a mobile order. I started calling right away, but after four attempts, someone finally answered four minutes later and told me it couldn't be canceled because it had already been made--even though the estimated pickup time was still 11 minutes away. I accepted that I made the initial mistake, but I expected better customer service. I contacted corporate, only to receive an email saying my feedback had been forwarded to the store manager. I never received a follow-up, an apology, reward points, a credit, or any effort to make things right. At the end of the day, this isn't about a $34 order. It's about how a company treats a loyal customer who made an honest mistake and followed the company's own cancellation instructions immediately. Customer service is defined by how problems are handled, and unfortunately this experience was anything but "A Sub Above." As much as I've enjoyed Jersey Mike's over the years, this experience has convinced me not to return. I'll also be sharing my experience with others because I believe people should know what to expect if something goes wrong.
