Small place with big flavor! Stayed next door, sure glad we decided to walk somewhere for supper. Great staff and great food!

Food is great! But we call them the lady who runs the place the "steak-nazi" because customer service is horrible.

We were on our way to Helen, GA and stumbled upon this place for dinner. They have easy parking! The restaurant is quite small, but it's really cute. The wait took forever. There was about 8 of us. I can understand because it's such a small restaurant trying to attend to a large group. They finally seated us after about 30 minutes. They had a lot of different random options. Because it's called Ribeyes, I decided to order just that. The ribeye was literally the best I've had. It was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were so yummy! The service was great! Just WOW! Had the 12oz ribeye with sautéed mushrooms and the twice backed potato. Food came out perfect and delicious! Despite what I've read about the service reviews on here, we found the service to be great. We will back (even if the drive is 3 hours away from home)! Worst place I have ever eaten! Went for a Ribeye at lunch. After waiting 45 minutes I kindly asked the waitress how much longer it would. I only get an hour lunch. The owners wife brought them out 10 minutes later RAW and uncooked still cold in the middle. I explained that I could not wait. She starts off in a rage. Screaming and yelling saying I was going to pay for it because I rushed the cook. I calmly said that it was only $20 and I would pay for it. While standing at the register she calls the owner/cook over still yelling and says we have a problem but were going to pay for it. He say "he better be" rather threatening. Bad bad bad the place was dirty they brought me a cut of steak that was not ribeye but the end cut on the strip end. Then the owner would not make it right just wanted to cause a seen. Then asked me pay then called the police ,the police had to ask her to clam down three times. Do not waste your money their.just wow people think they can treat customers like that. Just wanted to say Ribeyes is the best place in the Cornelia, Demorest and Clarkesville area to get a REAL grilled steak. Everything is prepared from scratch and is cooked to perfection. Being a small family owned and operated restaurant they focus on satisfying their customers with delicious food instead of rushing you thru some assembly line environment of a chain store. Yes, this place is a tough one to find if you don't live in this area and have cruised the roads. J. Warren Rd. is the road running parallel to Hwy. 365 on the west side, driving right next to Burger King. This is a family run steakhouse and the food just cannot be beat. This family knows exactly what they are doing. They make onion rings with onions which are bigger than softballs! There is no skimping on the fullness of the dinner plates. The place looks like it used to be a log cabin and is very homey and comfortable. There are not a whole lot of tables, as the dining areas are not all that large, so expect a wait if the parking lot has a lot of cars. The wait to me is worth it. There is also a small bar with maybe 5 seats if your party is just a couple of you and there is room. Also be aware that there is only one bathroom, shared by all; just in case anyone has a phobia about this. This is a very talented family when it comes to food. I hope the little cabin has more property than what is seen. I'd love to see them expand. They could really make a lot of money and make a lot of tummies happier! read more

We came here from FL to vacation and tried this for lunch. We both got ribeyes. They were nicely done. The complaint I have is the customer service. If I spend $60 on lunch I expect my drinks to be refilled and the waitress to come back at least once to see if things are ok. There were a total of 4 people in the place. I'm sure this is secondary to Covid, but they will only allow you to sit on one side of the bench. So my son had to sit at the end of the table in a fold out chair. Makes no sense. read more

food was excellent and server was nice and talkative. Helped us with the menu. The building looks like a shack but lots of times this is where you get the best food. My filet steak was perfectly cooked and the twice baked potato was awesome!! It was covered in cheese and was great. The salad could be a little more doctored up but what we got was good. My family and I arrived at the rest near the end of the dinner rush. We were seated rather quickly at a soaking wet table. While we appreciated the fact that it had been clean, getting our silver wet was not very pleasant. This was, by far, the most pleasant part of the evening. The first words out of our waitress's mouth was, "What ya'll want to drink?" There was no greeting, not even the slightest hint of a smile. As a person who has worked over a decade in customer service, I understand the importance of body signals. This young woman was completely disinterested in her job, her customers, and sanitation. Between the constant fiddling with her hair, touching of money and then food (Anyone in food service will tell you that's a big no-no), the flapping of her flip flops, to the blatant cell phone usage right in front of me. Throughout our visit we were walked past by wait staff 243 times. Out of all of those times we were only acknowledged (a glance, a word, ANYTHING) approximately 20. That includes when our steaks arrived and one was tough beyond compare. My family's steak could barely be cut into pieces, this steak being the special for the night. A young boy was manning the girl, the waitresses constantly going back to the kitchen (which has several windows) and eating, playing with their cellphones and gossiping about customers. Yes, I did see you point at my father and make a snide remark when he asked to move away from the seat next to the kitchen. The hand gesture and eye roll made it very obvious. I do not take these sort of events lightly, nor do I appreciate the note on the door about "harassing the waitresses." I have never ONCE harassed a food service person, I only want what I order and to be treated fairly. A business is not about catering to the wait staff and letting them do whatever they want; a business is just that, a BUSINESS. The only way to make money is to treat the customers, YOUR customers respectively and be polite. No one likes to go to a restaurant and spend over fifty dollars to be disrespected, ignored and treated like a burden for asking for a refill. On a side note, I would like to say that the owner / head chef was quite hospitable and was able to prepare my parents a delicious steak. You sir, are excellent at your job, the boy that cooked the first steaks, however, needs a great deal more training. Sorry, but since this was my first visit, it will also be my last. Until the restaurant can get a decent wait staff and some management on the front of house, I am going to have to take my money elsewhere. read more

I have eaten steak at some of the finest steakhouses in the country. The ribeye I had tonight cooked medium rare was the BEST I have ever had. The steak wasn't the only great thing about this place either. The buttery garlic popover and hand cut fries were exceptional. Don't come for the service come for the food. The ribeyes are amazing, the ribeye burger is amazing, the mushroom Swiss burger is something else piled high with mushrooms, frys are great, chedder cheese biscuits. Better than LongHorns but that ain't saying much. Not quite half as good as the legendary Beef Baron which was 7 stars on a 5 star scale, so I give 'em 3 stars. I guess there's always someone who has a lousy experience but when the wait staff decides to argue over whether or not the 20 dollar steak I ordered for my birthday dinner they served me was burnt or not, I'll NEVER give this gip joint another opportunity to take my hard earded money for their charred excuse for a grilled steak! (ordered medium, it was still pink inside, but heavily charred outside, burnt, to be more accurate), needless to say, left a very unpleasant taste in my mouth for twenty bucks. Also, if you happen to enjoy a saltine cracker with your salad, don't bother asking for that either; seems that the owners decided since they serve croutons on their salads, crackers are a nuisance and un-nessesary. And as it was put to me, it creates too much of a mess when they're given to small children ! This dining experience has left a nasty after-taste in my mouth and a realization that if I want an excellent steak that is a pleasure to partake I should just cook it myself! In short, I would not recommend this joint for canine customers much less human patronage! read more

My wife and I stopped by Ribeye's last night to try out a local restaurant. What we found was a diamond in the rough! Ribeye's is a rustic restaurant with a old country feel to it. The food is amazing, but the service is horrible. The discouraging part is that they do not care that the service is bad. I've literally heard people complain and the owner has told them that if they don't like the service then they can just leave. I've also experienced the owner telling an elderly lady that she was charged 18% gratuity because she had 6 people in her party. When the lady said she had never been charged that before the owner raised her voice at her and said, "well clearly you don't get out very often and have never eaten in public. This place was a total surprise. Not very pretty on the outside but if you're looking for the best steak you've had in a really long time this is your place. My steak was made exactly as I ordered with a really nice charcoal flavor. The onion rings and the biscuits looked homemade and were fantastic. Our waiter Nick provided great service. We had heard this was a good steakhouse from the locals but I had read mostly negative reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. Now we know. We went early on a Saturday night. No one to greet us.. just a notebook to write our names down. 30 minutes later one lady pointed to a table and sat 5 of us at a table for4.to say this place is rustic is being complimentary. Would be closer to a hunting camp. Took a while to get our drinks and we were told they were out of one of the two steaks they offer. Our steak selection was ribeye or ribeye. And they were out of baked potatoes as well. They finally brought our salads (lettuce, one slice of tomato and one slice cucumber with a little ring of raw onion). They seemed offended when we asked for crackers and we were told they never serve crackers. So I asked for the bread that was mentioned but was curtly informed that she would service the bread with the meal and not before. Finally our steaks came and the medium rare ones were ok but the one that was ordered medium well was burnt to a crisp. When we pointed out the steak was past well done and mostly burnt we were told they don't cook well done steaks and that it was medium well. But the steak was basically one half charcoal. Her reply was 'that's the way we cook it'. Not an apology and certainly not an offer to redo the steak or to discount our bill. The whole attitude was you will eat what we bring you. Reminded me of the Soup Nazis on Seinfeld. We spent well over $120 and left hungry. The steaks that weren't burnt had little or no flavor. The twice baked potatoes and the onion rings that they proudly claim to be homemade were clearly frozen. The same kind that are served at most fast food places. A waste of time and money. I'm sure with the business they get from locales they won't miss my business but that's good because we won't be back. Hotel recommended. Arrived and "girl" said "lucky you got here, its closing, almost, but yull havta sit out here". The place was filled with smoke and my sister has asthma, so I asked if we could sit elsewhere-reply "its all like this cause we been busy, good thing you wernt here howr ago, you couldnt see for smoke.!" We just keep openin doors!" Asked if hood vent isn't working "yow it just cant keep up wer so busy". We sit down, my sister & I ordered 1/2 hamburger steaks (10.39) with that you get 1 side & bread. We ordered a salad, extra $2.29. My salad was caesar---approx 1 cup of salad, two croutons, 1/4 tsp of cheese and bottled salad dressing in a side container--Ok rip off on the salad! Then the steaks come out!!! My sisters was so burned!! They had piled high with grilled onions & mushrooms to hide burn. So black/crusty and dried out -- inedible! We told the server (used loosely) and her response was "thats way I like em, we all eatem here like at, my daddy fixes turkey at thanksgiving and I nuke mine some more so its dried out". My sister, being so nice, said well I am sorry I can't eat this. Server-"Well I am sorry and walked off" By this time we are all speechless, eat the baked potato and this time tell her we will pay for potato but not meat. Server "well that aint up ta me" Well could you get the owner, "aint here" a manager then. Wait and out comes another "server" and this one looks mad at the world and says "which ona you asked for me" I am not kidding here!!! We explain and even pick up the meat --Response "Thats the way we have to cook them here, no pink and that aint burned just cooked dun. We cant take money off, cause thats way we cook um, dun." We try to explain, thought she was going to get the gun!! Explained we tried to send back but "server" walked off. This one continued with the BS and we finally told her we would not pay for it, end of this conversation of 15 min. So ok, she said would take off, but she was going to charge us for the bread!!!!! Guess what, she did! No difference? Please do not go there, is a Longhorn across street! The hotel staff was horrified by our treatment and we will be calling owner of Ribeyes when we get back home. In all my travels, have never met anyone in restaurant business such as these, have eaten in bad ones and 5 stars!! Ribeyes- awful food and service is indescribable. Oh, my sister had to get up, take a chair and open the front door to let smoke out! The grill area is in front of this tiny place, each time anything was on grill, smoke billowed out-evidently no hood vent or smoke alarms!! Three dinners not eaten, no wrong, the potato was good, we did not touch bread! Unbelievable horrible experience. Closed at 9:00PM (?) but kept lights on, people still came in and sent away, but kept the light "open" on? Our fault - should have walked out at smoke!! Love this place- the burger is fantastic- and Nick is an excellent waiter! Very attentive and goes out of his way to make you feel at home!
