We went to the 81st and Yale location this evening, Sunday at 6:15 PM. The hostess came out of the back fairly quickly and seated us at a booth by the window. We then sat there for 15 minutes and were completely ignored by all 5 employees that we saw. The hostess spent time visiting with one employee in the entryway in full view of us. 2 couples left, and an employee came out to clean tables near us, but never bothered to wait on us. The dining room was completely empty except for us. When we finally got up to leave, we could hear them burst out laughing. We have patronized this location many times over the years, but never again. It's one thing to provide poor service. I ordered the Smoky Chicken Griller for dinner, and it was just ok. I've had it before, and it's always hit and miss. It has grilled chicken, bacon, cheese, onions, and a sauce on Texas Toast. I get it without onions. They either forgot the sauce, or there was so little of it that I couldn't taste it. Beyond that, the chicken was dry and flavorless, but the bacon was crispy and delicious. The Texas toast was buttery and tasted great. I know that their bbq is pretty consistently good, so I will stick with that from now on. Ordered my food to go and when I got home my half rack of ribs were missing. Not only that but I get one scoop of gravy for my pint of mashed potatoes and gravy. I didn't see on the menu that I get a scoop of gravy for my mashed potatoes. So, because of this my husband has to drive back to this particular Rib Crib and get our missing half rack ribs and hopefully half pint of gravy. Pros: I've never eaten in the actual restaurant, only ever gotten to go food on my way home. I always get the super spud fully loaded. The to go staff are efficient and extra nice. The most I've ever waited is 6 minutes. That's faster than a fast food drive through. Close to home, plenty of parking. I've never tried it, but on Tuesdays they have all you can eat ribs. We had a really big group coming in but they were still very fast with our order and the service was amazing! Our server, Kayla was awesome! She handled our large party like a champ, by herself, and was super friendly and patient the whole time. Our food was brought to us within two minutes! The service was expedient. They were very patient trying to divide the checks and constantly brought us refills. I got the Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich and it was delicious! I loved the fries! One of our friends got the Cribwich and said that it was a little undercooked but that was the only complaint from our party of 26. Rib Cribs have really been hit in miss in the last few years but this location I would definitely recommend. The bbq and the sides are good, the place is well managed, and it is clean. It's not home run hitting bbq, but it's consistent and certainly satisfies the fix. Most of the Rib Crib locations have been a three star experience.
