The atmosphere and food at this small town Italian restaurant was wonderful. We definitely didn't expect to find such a good local Italian restaurant in South Ga. There were some minor things that kept it from being a 10 out of 10 in our book, but it was definitely a 9 out of 10. Which makes it a 5-star for South Ga! Excited to go back soon. read more

Fantastic food and great service! Vidalia is lucky to have such a great place! Spaghetti bolognese incredible and all you can eat (Monday's). Impossible to finish the first serving! Fettuccini Alfredo w/ chicken - delicious and creamy. Gonna have great leftovers tomorrow! Chicken Parmesan - cooked perfectly. Crispy on the edges, tender and juicy. Overall pretty good Italian food for the area. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was very nice. Vidalia has long needed a place like this, upscale but won't break the bank. I took my mother here for her 75th birthday. She had Osso Bucco. The serving size was massive. The meat was very flavorful. Overall a very nice dish. I had a chicken dish in a creamy sauce, essentially Alfredo. The dish was not my favorite, but maybe I ordered poorly. I think it was prepared well, it was just a bit rich for me. I only ate a few bites before I was very full. Again the portion sizes are huge. I still give the place a 4 because the overall experience was great. I will definitely go back, but I will probably split a dish and get something lighter. read more

I'm sorry but this was a bad experience. I should have known from the start since the service was sloooooooow. Appetizer was lukewarm at best. Filet was the special so I went for it. As soon as I got it, I told my wife it had a spoiled smell. I tried one piece anyway but after one chew I spit it out. Interestingly before we got our meal I over heard the lady behind us tell the waiter that her food smelled spoiled. Not sure what she ordered. It will be hard to make myself go back. read more

Coworker recommended so we tried it out since we were in the area. A tad pricey but worth it with the quality. Food was amazing. Baked Ziti and Steak Gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce for the win. We love Rialto. Been there like 5 times since we've moved to Vidalia and haven't been disappointed yet. One of our favorites is the Chicken Riggie (rigatoni) - the sauce is just phenomenal. Other dishes we've had- Fettuccine (with shrimp and chicken), eggplant and chicken parm, the arancini balls (appetizer), lemon mascarpone, tiramis- have all been delicious. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very nice - it has that Italian Bistro feel. The portions are ENORMOUS so we usually split (there's a share fee) but the price is totally reasonable. There's also gluten free penne that (I'm told) can be subbed in any dish. read more

Wow! I was in VIdalia for business with a co-worker and we were super hesitant to have dinner in Vidalia, GA. We searched yelp and found this place. Turns out the owner was from upstate New York and My co-worker is from upstate New York. He said this place was as close to authentic Italian cooking as he has seen outside of home. They really hit it off. Now on to the food. It was simply amazing! We had the arroncini (Rice balls) and chopped salad to start. We also had the peach frozen wine drinks. All brilliant! For dinner we had the chicken Marsala and linguini bolognese. Pretty much a dump truck serving size. We were expecting a couple wise guys to show up. I was very pleased with our choice to dine here. Food was excellent. Wine choices were very good. The atmosphere was casual yet a cool vibe. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive to all tables. One other yelper said the portion sizes were huge. That is an understatement. They are massive! My delicious bowl of spaghetti Bolognese could have fed 3-4. My mom got chicken Parmesan that we could have easily split. Keep that in mind unless you are lover of leftovers. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant this past Friday evening. Upon entering the aroma of Italian food filled the air, which excited us both. We opted for a number of starters and a pizza. This restaurant has great food however they are never adequately staffed. We have made multiple trips to enjoy the food here, but the service has been awful. On our very LAST attempt to make things right and give this establishment another opportunity, we waited over an hour for what was told to us would be only a 10 minute wait. I had yet another lovely dining experience a couple of nights ago at Rialto. We were a party of five, including two children, aged 12 and 6. Two of us arrived early and enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar while waiting on our friends. They have a small, curated wine list but they do have some nice selections at excellent price points, with VERY VERY generous pours, which is always a plus! We chatted with the owner about the menu and he highly recommended that we try the Arborio Rice Balls for an appetizer, and boy, they did not disappoint! These tasty creations are balls of creamy, cheesy risotto, approx. 3" in diameter, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried. Three of these babies are served on a bed of homemade marinara sauce. YUM. YUM. They are definitely different, and definitely delicious. Highly recommend. For dinner, on the server's recommendation, I opted for the Monday night "all you can eat" spaghetti Bolognese special. She admitted that nobody had ever finished even the first plate of spaghetti, and let me tell you, she was not kidding. I have never, in all of my life, seen such an enormous plate of food. I am sitting here, two days later, eating the last of it for lunch today! And it really is delicious! Their Bolognese sauce is spot-on, and mercifully, they use thin spaghetti pasta rather than the traditional thicker spaghetti. My dinner salad was crisp, fresh, and the perfect size, with the perfect amount of dressing. The bread was hot and delicious as usual. Two of my dinner companions opted for the gnocchi with creamy pesto sauce, which they loved, of course. And the portions were almost as huge as my spaghetti. The 12 year old opted for eggplant parm, which she loved. And the little guy liked his chicken fingers but he would have been happier if there had been some ranch available for him to dip them in. (Note to owners: I, personally, give the side-eye to people who order ranch dressing at restaurants. I get that. But most little kids don't understand marinara sauce on their chicken fingers. I suggest that you get some individually sealed cups of ranch dressing to have on hand for those finicky young palates...and also those rubes who only want ranch on their salads.) I did not have dessert but one friend had the tiramisu, which she said tasted good, but looked like it had completely melted on her plate. (Odd...I've never seen tiramisu do that.) The 12 year old ordered espresso gelato, which she inhaled, so I'm pretty sure she loved it. Our server took really good care of us and was quick to refill glasses and remove empty plates, but she wasn't hovering at all. Excellent service. And, as always, the friendly owner came by the table to greet us and make sure we were enjoying ourselves. One of our party was visiting from Hilton Head, and she said she can't wait to come back to Vidalia and eat here again. I really should eat here more often, myself. read more

Some of the best Italian I have ever had and I have eaten in the North End of Boston often, Federal Hill, and little Italy. Not to mention big Italy. Meatballs and sauce are fantastic, veal Marsala is out of this world. Service is great. They lose 1 star for not having grappa, limoncello , or espresso drinks for dessert. read more

I was very disappointed. This was my first visit and possibly my last. It did seem to be a little busy but not busy enough for all the confusion. Was there for over an hour before we got our food and saw our plates go to another table , wrong of course, back to kitchen and 10 min later finally to our table. I saw this happen at several surrounding tables. The food was only decent nothing to brag about. By the time I receiced my chicken parmigiana it had no crust nothing but mush. Rialto has become my new favorite place to eat when visiting Vidalia. While the decoration is there to remind you that it's an Italian restaurant, the place isn't pretentious. Good array of antipasti, ensalate, primapiatti, pasta, & dolce. Modest wine list, but good variety and reasonably priced. I really love the calamari here, it is delicious. And my favorite dish is the shrimp Alfredo. I have only tried the cheesecake as a dessert and it did not wow me in any way.
