This was my third visit to Hardware Pizza in Lyons, GA, and I ordered the chicken Alfredo pizza. The pizza was good overall, with a creamy sauce and flavorful chicken, though the crust tasted a bit different compared to my previous visits. It wasn't bad--just noticeably different. Service was good as always, friendly and attentive, which made the experience enjoyable. I'd still come back and hope the crust returns to the version I remember liking more. Hardware Pizza is an absolute gem, probably one of the best restaurants in Lyons. The restaurant itself is incredibly nice, with a very modern interior; the kind of place you might expect to find in a city much larger than Vidalia/Lyons. The lighting is pleasant and the staff shine just as bright, putting up with the long lines because this IS one of the most popular places in town. The first time I came I had the pasta and it tasted pretty good, the presentation was nice, but for the price it was pretty small and underwhelming. But if I were sane I'd have realized people don't come for the pasta, they come for the PIZZA. The dough is all fresh and fire cooked in an oven right by the cashier takes your order. The pizza itself is awesome, so flavorful and well cooked, it was just perfect. I got the Southerner on my second time and WOW that is a pizza that you can keep for seconds. Enough bacon to feed a small village and cheesy in all the right places, and all for an affordable 14$ for a personal pizza. All in all, if you're looking for pizza in Toombs county THIS is the spot you're looking for. read more

It's a very unique place being an old hardware store in downtown Lyons near Valdalia. The line was long at 10 after six when I came in. You place your order have a seat and they bring it to you. I got the salad first and it was excellent. Then the pepperoni roll was one of the best I've ever had. I've had some spice to it but not too hot. read more

Came for dinner. It was pretty slow when I got here. Food was awesome and the service again was good. Note: food came out fresh and hot. Depending on what you get I would suggest letting it set up some first. The mac-n-cheese was way too hot to eat and the cheese on the pizza just ran all over the place. 10 minutes later everything was good to go. I used to buy hardware items in this location when it was Smith's Hardware, so it is nostalgic for me to eat there now. The owners have preserved the atmosphere of the hardware store and have also brought some big city ideas to the cuisine. This is not your Pizza Hut pizza parlor. These original and unique recipes you won't find in an ordinary pizza place. They are delicious and fired in a large brick oven. The house salad is one of my favorites from any of our local restaurants. Good combination of many different types of lettuce and other salad toppings. The service is excellent and the prices are moderate. You won't be disappointed. read more

We called Hardware less than 20 minutes before closing to place an order. Then we made the six minute drive from our hotel to the restaurant. The space is large and industrial with eclectic decor, including old auditorium seats. When we arrived, they greeted us as if it were the middle of the day and they were preparing our pizza as if we were going to stay there to eat it. I thought that was really nice considering the near closing hour. As we hadn't intended to eat there, they boxed it for us without an issue. We got the Bob-eroni pizza which had pepperoni, Italian sausage, criminology mushrooms, red onions, and olives. It smelled wonderful and it looked good. As I pulled out the first slice, I noticed that the end of the slice was soggy. Their crust clearly couldn't handle the toppings, which seemed to be more heavily situated in the middle of the pizza. The ingredients tasted fresh and the sausage had a little kick to it. The sauce was thicker than most, which also may have contributed to the soggy crust. Customer service here was 5 but the pizza was 3. 4 stars overall. read more

The food is fantastic (5 stars). Love the vibe. The service ... well, it's uneven. The food came out quickly and ordering was smooth (other than it would help if you told customers where the fountain drinks are located), but we had to ask for extra plates for our appetizers and utensils and even then got one extra plate, one knife, and two forks. Basically the bare minimum. If utensils are available "self-serve," that's fine, but just say so. Anyway, it's definitely worth a visit and maybe the one server was just having a bad night. read more

Food is ALWAYS AMAZING! Everything is always fresh and made day-of. The habanero peach wings are literally my FAVORITE item on the menu, you have to try them. Service is almost always amazing! The workers are attentive but not helicopters. They're always ready to help or answer any questions or requests. It looks small on the outside, but it's actually very spacious on the inside and is very easy to maneuver a wheelchair in the lobby. Only downside is getting a wheelchair in the bathrooms. The taste of food is good but the amount served is ridiculously small. They charge $12.75 for a small rigatoni plate with a la vodka (basically pink sauce, not a drip of vodka). My husband and I had $60 worth of food with two Stella drafts which were amazing. They don't even serve water, you have to buy it. That's nuts! Never again. Rural Georgia is really not a good place to eat out. The service is nothing to write about since you pay at the register for your food and they just bring the food when it's ready. The ambiance is okay. The restaurant us clean and the bathrooms is okay, too. It's unfortunate because it's really close to Our house now. read more

For the middle of nowhere, this place is hoppin'! We had pizza, calzones, cheese bread, mac & cheese, and beer- all of it was pretty good! Their marinara is delish, but a little heavy on the basil for my taste. The mac & cheese was super cheesy and would have been life changing with just a pinch of salt. The small calzone was a good size, but every topping was $1, so it adds up Even though their coffee machine was down, their beer keg tapped out in the middle of our pitcher, and they put whole cloves in my calzone instead of mincing them(who wants to eat a whole garlic clove?!), overall, I'd eat here again. I spent a couple weeks in Vidalia doing research and during my stay I had the opportunity to dine twice at Hardware Pizza. The general vibes are fun; the entire restaurant has a very open design reminiscent of the building's previous occupant (a hardware store). I love the furniture and layout but it can get a little noisy if you're planning to do much talking or listening. As far as the pizza is concerned, I wasn't disappointed. I had the herb cheese pie my first visit and the lemon chicken pizza special the second visit. Both pizzas were warm and satisfying. The salad with my lemon chicken special was also much better than I expected. The employees were very friendly and the open kitchen is fun to watch. Overall, it was very good pizza for small-town Georgia and if I'm ever in the area again, I'll be sure to stop by. read more
