Fresco Italiano has a beautiful setting in downtown Tifton. Our food was fantastic and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and seasonal specials, and was very attentive and polite. I started off with a rusty nail from the bar and it was perfect! We had the burrata appetizer, and it was spot on. My Dad got lobster ravioli and a side of homemade Italian meatballs. I had the seasonal Tuscan chicken. Then for dessert we shared a berry compote cheesecake. Everything was fresh, the food temperature was outstanding, and the flavors of all dishes were excellent. The photos of the steaks on Yelp pulled me in. And they did meet the visual requirements by serving a nicely charred rib eye. But when you charge $43 for a steak, it's a crime to overcook it. Despite requesting medium, I received a well done steak with NO pink whatsoever. Which resulted in a dry and flavorless hunk of meat. It was served with a side of roasted potatoes, but they had the texture of boiled instead. And they were so bland, I didn't finish them. My wife had the special, the Involtini, and found the chicken tough and stringy and didn't finish her entree. She did really love the brussel sprouts side dish which was the most flavorful version of this item she'd ever tried. Also when they first served some complimentary bread there were only four tiny slices that were overshadowed by the butter pats. Luckily they brought more, so it was more of a first-impression miss. Speaking of first-impressions this restaurant shares the building with apartments, so you'll be challenged to find a parking spot, even on a weeknight. Once you enter, the interior is very inviting and stylish. The metal seats, however were very uncomfortable, so be sure to get a table with the wooden and cushioned chairs. I can honestly say the chicken dish served to us tonight was not fit to even be brought to the table service was poor but the glass of water was good.. mussels were OK as well as the other food we ate one notch below olive garden. Despite being understaffed our server Caitlin was very polite made sure we were all taken care of. We got the Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo and Spaghetti with meatballs. Everyone at our table had different things off the menu, with only one couple having been here prior. As items were eaten, comments were made, some in passing, others making more of a point. Examples: The Fragola Salad was disappointing with maybe 2 strawberries, goat cheese was absent and various lettuce pieces in clumps, hard to cut and consume. Another said the clams smelled "different," what they did eat were difficult to remove from their shells, as proper utensils were not provided. The filet didn't taste nor seem like what you'd expect at a hefty $50, also overcooking didn't help. Positive comments perhaps offset those negative ones regarding the typical Italian dishes, as spaghetti, meatballs and fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. Sides not so well received, comments such as too salty were pretty much the reason. Some of the dishes might remind you of a new cook that either didn't have a full grasp of what and how much of any one thing went into a dish, the overuse of salt of the lack of including item mentioned in a menu dish, but either not included or hard used at all. If we were only taking the service (wait staff, hostess etc.) received while there, we'd definitely return, as all were exceptionally good. Sadly though, as a total, the food was severely lacking, in addition to that, nothing was a "bargain" with prices substantially higher than you'd expect. Everything a la carte and overpriced. Definitely Not an Italian "experience," that's for certain. We all look forward to the day when a truly Italian restaurant comes to Tifton. This place is Not It. read more

Can't comment on food because it never arrived. No reservation, table for two provided after 20 minute wait. We were laughing about the disorganization. Wait staff running end to end, while hostess apologizes for delays and constantly gets lost while seating people. No one seemed to really understand thier individual responsibilities. Finally sat, we ordered a bottle of Malbec, Greek salad with grilled shrimp and chicken Marsala. Boring bread and oil were brought to table. Salad brought to table without shrimp, taken away to never return. Then reminded waiter about wine. He pops the cork while opening wine and lands two large drops on my sleeve. He ignores it until I point it out which prompts an apology and soda water. After a 30+ minute wait, we ask about our food and are told it will be another 20 minutes. So we bagged the wine and left to have pretzels and hummus. Waiter was very nonchalant about the whole thing. No need for us to return here. read more

Loved the atmosphere of the place. We were well taken care of and the food was delivered in a timely manner as well. I never had to ask for anything. Our server, Destiny was very pleasant and attentive. As for the food... wonderful! We started with calamari and it came out piping hot and delicious. The salads were good as well and you could tell thought went into making them. They were not just an average restaurant salad. I had the lasagna and was very pleased. It was not just a fancy premade dish. It was baked in an individual portion and unique. Very good... My wife had the salmon and it was cool to her specifications and very good as well. Great experience and fantastic good. We had fritto de mare for an appetizer, the portion was huge and the calamari and shrimp were seasoned perfectly. The surf and turf was perfect for sharing; which we should have done! Lol. I had the chicken involtini it was so good. The cream sauce with sautéed spinach was rich tasting but didn't "feel" rich. This was our New Year's Eve dinner during our road trip. I made reservations because I was worried about it getting too busy. We arrived 30 min early and were seated immediately. It really started to fill up as we were leaving. I had Chicken Piccata and husband had Involtini which is chicken stuffed with prosciutto and fontina cheese. Both of our meals were good but we could have used a titch more chicken. My piccata had a ton of sauce and could have used a little less of that. I chose brussel sprouts for my side. Not the biggest fan. They didn't taste as fresh as I was hoping. Husband had a baked potato which was good. I don't know if this was typical or a special for New Year's Eve, but they had a musician playing electric violin. He was GREAT. It was such a nice touch and a pleasing way to experience dinner. Prices were unreasonable for quality level. Food was okay but didn't taste fresh or flavorful. Definitely american-ized Italian. Wine was up charged by about 4x the normal amount. So this is our layover stop as we make our way to wine country in Georgia. We didn't want to go to a chain so after some searching we found Fresco. So glad we did! The building looks industrial and must have a history. Once we walked in the door though we were at a different level. Very cool decor. Definitely a very hip and upscale venue. The vibe, even with covid was really nice. We had called from the road about reservations. Even though they didn't recognize us initially we were sat pretty quick. Our server was so nice and took care of the water and bread. The bread was so good ! If the bread is this good the meal should be fantastic ! So we started with the burrata salad. So good! The flavors were at the right level which is a theme I tasted throughout the meal. Just the right seasoning. Nothing overpowered you taste buds. For our mains I had the fettuccini Alfredo topped with steak. Yummy! The steak was cooked perfect, pasta was creamy but not over drenched and seasoning again was spot on. Deb had the Involtini. Chicken with am amoazing cream sauce and potatoes with a chorizo sauce. Omg that sauce was so good. We finished with the pecan pie pecan pie cheese cake. Decadent and delicious. Chasity the manger was so awesome. We had a long conversation about our affinity for good food and memories. She gave us the cheesecake which we were going to get anyway but that was a nice touch and show some really good customer skills. We had a couple of cocktails that were mixed really well and did not skimp on the alcohol. We love the food and service here for lunch and dinner. Saturday brunch is great too but the menu is different. I prefer the regular menu due to the fried ravioli option. However, any time is great. Food is always fresh and great portions. This is one of me and my sons favorite spots. The drinks are pretty pricey, but made very well. If dinning on a Saturday and have others to share with, I would get the carafe for mimosa options VS just one. One mimosa is $13. Also make sure to make reservations as early as you know you want to go. I've heard others say who haven't had reservations to attempt to walk in and they were not able to due to being filled to capacity. And it's a very unique location and size. Enjoy. read more

We decided to try Fresco Italiano because of their reviews. We went on a Saturday, and arrived around 6 pm and were immediately seated. We order a small Sylvester salad and small Fragola salad. Both were wonderful, fresh and very tasty. My husband ordered the ribeye with roasted potatoes and I ordered the salmon with lemon dill and Brussels sprouts. Both dishes were prepared perfectly. Though we were pleasantly full, we had to try their desserts. We decided on the cheesecake with peach compote and creme brûlée. I have to tell you it has been too long since we have been very pleased with an establishment, that checks off all our boxes with the exception of the complimentary bread basket. What would appear to be a breadstick sliced into 6 pieces with prepackage butter. The atmosphere was warm, CLEAN and inviting, our server Malory was outstanding. Attentive and charming. All and all Fresco Italiano is a good start in satisfying the DESPERATE need of South Georgia's abysmal lack of quality restaurants. We can only hope there was one in Valdosta. read more

We arrived at the restaurant and it was busy for a Tuesday night. Even though they were shortstaffed everyone was running around making sure that all the guests were served on time and their cups were full. This is a family restaurant, with plenty of care taken in decor & style. They care about the customer and ask how things are in between each service. The burrada appetizer was delicious, the tomatoes were sweet and the balsamic vinegar reduction was perfect to dip the crusty bread. I had a ribeye steak medium rare, was perfectly cooked. My wife has a stuffed chicken breast with a creamy sauce that was delicious although it looks like a small portion it was really filling. Our sides consisted of the roasted mushrooms, creamed spinach and potatoes with a chorizo sauce wow. Next time will leave space for the desert! Went in last night expecting a romantic evening with my girlfriend. We ordered 2 drinks and asked for a double on each drink since we were celebrating a special occasion. The drinks came and tasted like syrup! We sat upstairs and not sure who made the drinks. We told the waitress we were not happy with the drinks. She said, "oh I'm sorry, can I take your order! We politely said no, we will take our check. Never did she ask can she re make the drinks or compensate us in anyway. I was not looking for something for free. Well, we paid the 50.00 and left. Luckily we did! We walked around the corner to a wing place (Wing Addiction) that was not in the same league as the restaurant as far as atmosphere. What we got were the best wings ever and service to match! The Italian restaurant needs to recruit their employees from Wing Addiction or at least a page from their handbook on customer relations! read more

As impressive this restaurant is in looks and ambience, the food was just as unimpressive. The lasagne was sauceless and ricottaless. The chicken with white wines sauce was bland and un-memoriable. You'd also think they'd have pitted olives used for their martinis filled with *something*! -- blue, feta, goat cheese, pepper, even a pimento. But no. Weird. From what I was told, the kitchen staff was new and learning. They need a lot more learning. So we'll chalk this up as a learning experience and try this restaurant again...some day. read more

I went here, because I would rather eat local, and the front desk at the hotel suggested Fresco. I am just here overnight on my way north. I sat at the bar, and ordered chicken picatta and a salad. The salad was ok, not very cold. The picatta was swimming in lemon liquid with a few capers. Lousy! Chicken picatta should be browned and crispy with a nice lemon wine sauce with tons of capers! I think there were ten! But my biggest gripe was the BREAD!!! How can you be an Italian restaurant and serve such HORRIBLE bread!!! The bread looked like one inch little scraps! Don't you understand how to serve a hot crusty loaf of bread???? I would have been served better bread at the Olive Garden or Publix!! And I could have walked, it was in front of my hotel!!!!!!
