I've never been to a pizza restaurant where they don't have chicken as a topping, so I had to settle for a bellpepper pizza. Also the sauce to cheese ratio was off way too much cheese and it wasn't even that good. At least it helped me use the bathroom. read more

Everything on the pizza bar was cold and the bread sticks were burnt. They didn't bring out any new pizza. We asked and was told bar wouldn't be replenished until later on. read more

Buffet is very good! Great salad bar and pizza! Highly recommend to anyone who likes a pizza buffet.

First of all, I have never dealt with a more rude person over the phone than I did while placing my order.. and for it to have been the owner is really sad!! Absolutely no customer service skills at all. I got home, checked my order, and had to go all the way back to the restaurant just to get sauces for my breadsticks. You'd think I'd learn by now considering how many times they've gotten my order wrong in the past. I recommend the pepperoni cheese sticks This location has one of the best salad bar in McRae. I love their home made ranch dressing. They also offer buffet on certain days which is delicious! If you haven't been to this location before try the wings. The only downside to this location would have to be the outdated atmosphere. read more

Recently, I came to Village Pizza to eat something a little different from the other restaurants here in Mcrae-Helena. However, I have a couple of complaints. My first complaint is the older lady at the register. She's not welcoming at all. In fact, if I wasn't so hungry, I would have left in a heartbeat. Secondly, the napkin holder, salt shakers, ketchup bottle were either dirty from grime or dust. I remember enjoying this place when I was younger, and I hate to see it in the condition it is in now. Ok, my favorite thin pizza is from Village Pizza, just not this one! It seems that the franchise is not consistent with their stores. The original store in Hazlehurst about 30 minute drive from here is the first and the best of all the locations! I find the thin pizza to not be as "thin" as the Hazlehurst location and the cheese bread sticks are not as cheesy or as good as the Hazlehurst location. However they do have a few items that the Hazlehurst location doesn't have like these pastries with apples bits inside and cream cheese icing, very good! But other items like Brunswick stew, at a pizza shop....really?! read more

I used to frequent this hometown pizza joint all the time when I lived here. I had not had it in many years since moving away, probably in about 10 years. I was extremely pleased to find that after so many years of different pizzas from all over, and becoming much more "foodie", that this place is still fantastic. The cheese sticks are definitely the best I've ever had, due to a combination of amazing cheesy goodness, garlic, and the house made marinara with little chunks of ground beef. The pizza is also wonderful. The sauce and toppings taste like no other pizza place, in that they're homey and hearty rather than trying to be too Italian or pretentious. The service is friendly and quick, and the salad bar is full of great toppings. If you're visiting and looking for something tasty, you'll be happy here. The locals already know! read more

I thought that Village Pizza was pretty good. I'm from out of town and I came through Helena for work, and when it came to the end of the day I wanted something easy. I just so happened to pop in when they had their buffet (Tuesdays and Thursday I think). The food was good and the service was pretty awesome. The hostess came up and asked me multiple times if everything tasted okay and whether or not I needed a refill. I would definitely stop in for some lunch or dinner if you're a pizza fan :) read more

Ok, long story short. My wife's family live in Alamo, Ga. and we were here to perform a Christmas Concert for 3 different churches over the weekend. We arrived and I quickly realized that I had left my more formal clothes back home. We went into McrRae to get me something a little more presentable and decided to get a bite for lunch. When we walked in, we were not greeted with "Hi, Welcome to Village Pizza" (Anyone can do that) but with "Hey Babies! What ya'll want to drink?" This immediately brought broad grins to our respective faces. We sat down with menus in hand when Miss Winnie walked up. Smiling brightly, she said "I've worked here for 15 years and know everyone. Ya'll aint from arouond here." Yep, nailed, strangers in town, just visiting. Miss Winnie went over the menu and explained how everything there and on the buffet was made from scratch. We decided to go with the buffet that included a variety of salads, pizzas (even the dessert type!), wings and soups. I can tell you right now, Miss Winnie does not lie as the broccoli-cheese and the potato soups tasted homemade. In fact, my wife and I kept stealing each other's bowls. The pizzas were delicious as were the wings. Let's face it, we've all been to some pretty big-name restaurants and seen old lettuce and aged veggies on the salad bar. Not here. Everything was fresh, crisp and flavorful. By the time we left, our bellies were full and our hearts a bit warmer. For the only thing better than the food was the service. They say the world is getting smaller yet less personal. Miss Winnie and the staff of Village Pizza - McRae, Ga. are doing ther part to keep the latter part of that statement at bay. We came in like strangers but left feeling like family. Though we live in Atlanta, we will definitely be making stops in Village Pizza whenever we're even close to town. read more

We enjoy their salad bar, usually very fresh. Their pizza buffet is good, plenty of options. Their wings are very good. The BBQ & mild flavors are good. The cinnamon sticks are delicious. I actually prefer the thin crust pizza. They are not stingy with the toppings. read more

Stay away from this place if you don't like strangers touch your food without gloves or washing their hands . As I was waiting on my order I look back into the kitchen to find a guy with a BUST pan of ham in front of him putting it in the grinder with his BARE hands. I look around and see NO one in the kitchen with gloves and I watch as everyone is touching everyting and anything in sight such as their clothing, hair, ect. I started a conversation with manager on duty which was sister-n-law to tell her what I saw and asked if the kitchen help was suppose to be wearing gloves and she said " sometimes they do and sometimes they don't" Then I asked so this is not manitory and she replied with a NO and a smile....WOW!!!!! read more
