walked in today with a family of 8. Every table was dirty in the restaurant. waitress was rude when we talked to her about all the tables being dirty. I came to Village Pizza to eat pizza. They only had a cheese and pepperoni pizza on the line. The buffet was mostly fried chicken, pork chop, baked chicken, okra, and other southern foods. I was the only one eating the pizza while everyone else were eating the country foods only. The pizza was good. The country food is made to local taste. The country food I thought as being good to my taste is the broccoli & cheese dish. Everyone here are nice, saying hello. The person who waits my table didn't know I was there until I went up asking for a knife and fork. She knew I was there when she came passing out the bills. The place is clean and even the bathrooms are well maintained. If you need to go while here just remember there's only one place where to sit down to take a moment to reflect on the meal you've just eaten. Today was not a good day. Pizza and service was bad. Consistently is important in a Resturant. You never know what you are going to get when you visit. The manager was onsite yet no accountability for servers talking and texting instead of checking on customers. Sunday buffet was not decent. What can I say about this classic Hazlehurst pizza joint? I've went here for most of my life, around 15 years, and it is something. Do not let the full parking lot fool you, it is incredibly mediocre pizza that would not hold up to a soggy cardboard box with ketchup on it. The pizza used to be quite tolerable, but since the last two to three years it seems they have switched to cheap ingredients that they probably buy through dollar tree. Their sandwiches are ok, nothing special. What has caused me to write this review is a meal I had there today. I ordered two salad bars, two drinks, and a medium pizza with special toppings only on half. Salad bar was good and the server was prompt with refills. When the pizza arrived, the special toppings were on both sides, and I was not really pleased. I proceeded to scrape off my toppings and just eat the pizza plain. No need to cause a fuss with the server because the other person I was with enjoyed the toppings. I informed the server in a joking manner and she apologized and told the other person I was dining with to keep the current pizza, and she would make me a new pizza that was correct. That was awesome. My server was great. However shortly after this, a lady named Judy walked out and said either we keep the leftovers and get a small correct pizza or turn in the leftovers and get the medium that I was paying for. First of all, I paid for a medium and the kitchen made my order incorrectly, the server wrote it down right. I said that I would not take the small because I paid for a larger pizza. The server then chimes in and said that they couldn't use the current pizza because we had touched it so might as well let us keep it. Judy then proceeded to tell me that it was my problem. I honestly hope they get rid of Judy because that was unacceptable. She was extremely rude and does not need to interact with customers. If she cannot handle making the orders correctly, she should not complain when the customers say that their order is wrong. I hope that they fix this problem, but honestly I really don't care. I will not be back. I cannot believe that this would happen here and I will not return to see if it happens again. Do not go here. read more

Stopped in here on our way back to Atlanta from the beach. This may become our regular pit stop. Takes longer than fast food, but so much better! I will say the menu shown on Yelp is not even close to what we saw, but the pizza did not disappoint. Possibly the greasiest pizza I've ever eaten - the grease was literally pooled on top of the pizza. The flavor of the sauce was not very good either. I did not even finish one slice. We were hesitant to stop here after reading some the reviews, but we were traveling through the area, and in the mood for pizza. We decided on a thin crust Deluxe, and it was EXCELLENT! Our server, Tracey, was very sweet, and very attentive -- we didn't lack, or have to wait, for anything. I'm not sure when, or if, we'll be back through this area again, but if we are, we'll be stopping at Village Pizza! read more

Decent place - give it a try, you may like it more than we did. Ate here many times and almost always get the buffet. Wait staff is generally very friendly and efficient. Pizza is good but very greasy and many times the buffet is not kept full so you may not get what you want during lunch hour. It's inexpensive, fast, and a pretty good salad bar. But for pizza, we'd rather head to Vidalia's Pizza Inn if that's what we're in the mood for. read more
