El Aguila Mexican Restaurant is a good option for a meal if you are craving Mexican food and find yourself in the general area. I travel a lot for work and often find Mexican food to be the most consistent in my travels. El Aguila Mexican Restaurant was a pretty solid choice in this town. Looking at the place, it is pretty humbe. But that is okay. In fact, I often find that the best Mexican food does not come from a high-end place dripping with ambiance and atmosphere, but rather the best Mexican, at least I have found, comes from these mom-and-pop establishments like this. We have been there twice since we moved here a month ago. Food was good both times. Service was okay. A bit slow although the place was empty. Very clean and pleasant. Somewhat pricey for this type of place. We liked it and there's not much else so we'll be back. read more

Dined in at 3pm on Monday January 21st. We ordered from the menu. I ordered El special Texas, step dad ordered hot wings, and my mom ordered menu item "f". Our waitress was a little snappy and basically had to wave her down to get my drink refilled. Cost of all of our food was $42. I also ordered cheese dip that was a little too spicy. read more

Food was okay service was okay but the owner's son kept staring at me and it bothered me so I called him over and I tried to confront him and he acted stupid like he didn't know what I was talking. oh and he steadily says "it's my job to stare" I'd be aware of coming here unless you wanna get stared down. read more

Eat here last night the salsa was good, but down hill from there. The food was very greasy and salty, the service was bad at the best offered no refills got no refills only wanted to take our empty plates. It is very over priced for 2 adults 2 small children and a baby was over $65 even charged for water for the children. With all the grease part of us ended up with stomach problems even this morning. We are locals and this is the second time it has happen ,but no more . I am in the restaurant industry if my servers were this bad I would fire them. They used to be alot better . read more

I have always wondered why no one hasn't done a Mexican food buffet before and I was so excited to learn there was a restaurant within driving distance that serves up a buffet! Located within the tiny town of McRae and within a tiny strip center, you wouldn't think to stop here since there isn't much to the outside of the restaurant. Inside there are several tiny tables as well as booths. The booths are somewhat difficult to get in and out of due to the design, but whatever. The buffet is open for lunch 11-2 and serves up anything you could want including fajitas, sopapillas, tacos, quesadillas, rice and beans, etc., and are all served up fresh, hot and full of flavor. read more

I had order a piña colada and they used V8 coconut and pineapple juice and it tasted spoiled and had a off smell, the females are rude if another Hispanic female they're also very snappy. Make sure to check you receipt cause the will charge you double. read more

Quite possibly my favorite spot to eat out in McRae. I have never had a meal that wasn't prepared the way that I wanted it. A big plus here is that they are the only people in the community that can serve a margarita, which they know how to do well. Every time I go, I order off the menu for the freshest food, scarf down the chips with the spicy salsa and enjoy the fact that I can semi-hide out in the deep booth seating, which despite the fact that it is non-cushioned, plank wood seats and backs, is pretty comfy. Chimichangas are excellent and there's enough in a meal portion to feed two. The buffet is good - and the buffalo wings are awesome! (That was a surprise!) You can order beer and sangria with your meal. Take out is easy - and good - too. Definitely a place to go if you are looking to hang out with a group of two-three friends and catch up - without the wait staff wanting to hurry you out of your seats. This place had the worst Salsa the chips were just ok. I always say if a Mexican restaurant has bad salsa or chips pay for you drinks and leave you will know the food will not be good. I was hungry so I did not take my own advice. I got the carne Asada plate the meat was so over cooked and dry. We ordered guacamole when I asked not to put tomatoes in it they said it was already made. It came to the table it was for sure not fresh it came from a tub with preservatives in it. I will not be back the people working were not very nice either and I am a white boy that speaks perfect Spanish. read more

Got tired of food in little omulgee state park, so venture out to this nice little outfit. Very vegetarian friendly because we half of our group are vegetarians. Price is very good, food is tasty. Was looking forward to eating Flan but was not available. I am writing this review to give them a kudos for being vegetarian friendly in a town where most food is deep fried and of animal protein. More than a pleasant surprise in McRae, Ga on a Friday night. They have a buffet on Friday and it has everything you would expect and MORE! Best Buffalo wings I've had in a long time - even a delicious white cheese dip that I noticed everyone used to liberally cover their rice, beans, taquitos, enchiladas, etc. i took their lead and it was unbelievable! Service was so-so but they were busy and it was "serve yourself" night! They had all they could handle just keeping the buffet stocked. Visitors to Little Ocmulgee State Park lodge should make this a "must stop" on Friday nights! read more

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant there is. I have not had a meal that I have not enjoyed, always prepared just right.

The food is always fresh! I personally like there salsa. The queso is good. My husband is a big fan of their buffet. We like their fajitas & it is a good sized portion.
