Is this a bar that also serves Haitian food or a Haitian restaurant that's also a bar? With the crowd and music at 11pm, it was definitely the former, and the abundance of bar seats leads me to suspect this is also the case earlier in the day. Philosophical questions aside, I got the Macaroni au gratin & street style griot. Street style meant the griot came with plantains. It was huge for a "snack". The pork was crispy & tasty. It was a good cut - tender but still with some sweet fat. The plantains were smashed & fried, so they were super crispy & had some flavorful seasoning too. There was also grilled onions & peppers, which were also very tasty. The macaroni was rich with a crispy topping & a creamy, cheesey sauce. It used macaroni & penne which was nice variety. Relatively speaking it wasn't as big as the griot. You get a free flow of spicy pickled cabbage. It's crisp but pretty spicy. It was my first time trying ting, which was delicious. Oddly it came in a glass, not bottle. The washroom had a strong vanilla bean scent, and half nude bodies, which was odd.

It's Friday night and it's a happening place here. My daughter suggested Haitian food and I was all in. While we waited for a table we sat at the bar and shared Rhum punch. I've never experienced this before but it was pre-made in what appeared to be a 12 oz brown bottle. Two drinks were partially poured into glasses each containing a large cube of ice. Fresh nutmeg was grated finely on the drinks. It was a unique taste for me. Didn't seem to have a lot of alcohol but was certainly refreshing. Had Griot as an appetizer. Never heard of it before but in part contained plantains and pork. Also had a cashew chicken dish and fried chicken. It wouldn't do it justice to explain the flavors of these dishes but suffice it to say you have to sample this to appreciate it. This is a bar/restaurant ananda where we were seated in the back was loud in nature but we made do. I would recommend visiting as where I'm from I've never come across it. It's relatively small inside and on the dark side. Service was good. They were pretty attentive.

The Rhum Corner was a great overall experience. If you want a good cocktail and great atmosphere you've definitely come to the right place. The space is is decorated with murals/ art which creates the island vibe in the middle of Toronto. The wait staff were very delightful. We sat in the bar area, and chatted for a bit about our lives and the things that are fun to do in The city. Great group of people. The food was just as amazing. We order a bunch of bites as well as plates. The griot, macaroni au gratin, fried chicken (only served on the weekend I think). I'd really recommend the macaroni as it was beyond flavorful. Spicy, tangy, and just all around hearty. I can't remember what the drink was but it was a phenomenal shareable. Can't wait to stop by again.

I like dark rum and have passed by Rhum Corner many times ... this evening we stopped in to check it out. We sat at the bar. To try a variety of rums, we ordered flights ... you get a half ounce of each rum. We started with Kal's flight as he was our bartender. He was friendly and definitely knowledgeable about rum. We liked his recommendations ... they had a bold taste. Then we tried Julia's flight. We liked Julia's ... they were smooth but not as bold-tasting as Kal's. It was fun to try the different rums this way as we could actually taste them since they weren't masked by pop. And it's a good way to check out higher-end rums than we usually drink. We'll stop in and do other tastings sometime.

Delicious cocktails! The Jungle Bird had sweetness from the pineapple, but was still well balanced and so pretty. The Golden Hour had a bit of spice from the ginger. My bf got a rum old fashioned which tasted just how you'd imagine. For food, I got a flaky patty with salted cod inside. We also got 2 pieces of crispy, flavourful and juicy fried chicken. The oxtail was rich and filling. They give a side that looks like coleslaw - beware, it is spicy af (even for my spice-loving bf). Still tasty to nibble on though. They don't take reservations, but if you get there early it's fairly easy to get a table. Their patio is cute with umbrellas to shade you. The service was attentive and friendly. Washrooms were gender neutral. At the time I went, indoor dining wasn't allowed, but during my trip to the washroom I could see the decor inside was cozy yet stylish! Overall a great vibe and great experience.

Saturday night at Rhum Corner was a delight. I had just read owner Jen Agg's fantastic book and was inspired to try the cocktails and Haitian menu. Entertained by anti-vaxx protesters while we munched on fried chicken and pork shoulder, Ms. Agg joined the patio and her diners as she weathered the abuse with grace and dignity. Her staff were warm and friendly as they too manoeuvred through the chaos. My water glass was never empty and my cocktails were icy cold. We'll be back and most likely with friends.

Nice cozy spot with limited seating and nice vibes/music. Had the spiced rhum and ginger ($10) which was a tasty cocktail. Also tried the oxtail dish which was cooked well and served with rice and some kind of gravy. They had a jar of coleslaw on the table - it had a nice spicy kick to it, and was on the vinegary side.

Came here for some pre-drinks before dinner with a few friends. Luckily we managed to get seating at the bar for all of us. This place is tiny - bordering on claustrophobic for me - I felt squished in. It's dark, it's cozy and it's lively and loud here! You want to try and discover new rums? Come here! You want to get some knowledge about rums? Come here! Basically I think everyone should check this place out with the intention of trying out some new brands. Once you've had a good quality rum you will never go back to the cheap stuff. It goes down smooth, like velvet...instead of a 3rd degree burn. The service as many others have mentioned is a bit lackluster. I know they are busy but we waited awhile for our bill, even asking for it twice. Since we were on a time crunch and had dinner reservations we ended up going to the back to pay at the small counter. I'd go back in the summer, maybe at an off peak time when it isn't so slammed to try some more of their libations.

So I was in Toronto for about a week and had tried so many different spots and types of foods. On my last day, this is where I went..... BEST DECISION EVER!!! I walked about 40 minutes here from my hotel (didn't know any better). But glad I burned some of the calories I was about to ingest! The setting is really nice. I'm Haitian and I was really happy to see a place that kept the integrity of our culture and was still able to share it with others in a way they can enjoy! I walked in and Haitian music was being blasted, drinks were being served, people were talking having a blast, and eating amazing food. The first thing I ordered was a drink. I got the Spiced Rum + Ginger. That was really good. For a bar/restaurant, it's nice to have a place that has really tasty but strong drinks! After that I ordered the griot as an appetizer. I loved it! It was extremely moist, which can be hard to do with griot. It was a little bit on the salty side, but still very enjoyable. They had little jars of piklíz all over the place. And I loved it! To see and eat, haha. To go, I got the boulette entre (seasoned meatballs). Usually, they are fried and this was the first time I had them in sauce. It was a surprise to me when I opened the box. But man! I'm glad I went with it cause boy was it good! I loved that they also had their own hot sauces. I bought 3 bottles to go just because they were so good and hot! It's like piklíz in a bottle. On top of the great food, my server was also amazing! Very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient! I don't remember her name, but it was cool they hired someone very familiar with the culture. I highly recommend this place. If you live in Toronto or are there for a visit, it's a really nice place to go.

If you're looking for a cozy, tropical escape without leaving Toronto, this is your spot! Tucked…read moreaway on St. Clair West, this charming Puerto Rican is a gem. The customer service? Impeccable. The staff was genuinely kind and attentive without being overbearing. I felt welcomed from the second I walked through the door. I ordered the Avocado Salmon Toast paired with the beautifully pink and perfectly named Pink Flamingo drink. My friend went for the Sweet Berry Waffle and a classic lemonade. Let me just say--the flavors did not disappoint. The salmon was fresh, creamy avocado was piled high, and the toppings were thoughtfully layered. My only tiny critique (and I say this with love): the toast itself was a little too crispy for my liking. It made the dish a bit tricky to cut into, and the texture leaned dry. Next time, I'll definitely ask for it untoasted or lightly toasted. A softer base would really let those flavors shine without the crunch competing. Now let's talk about that Pink Flamingo--WOW. It was tropical, sweet, and honestly gave me vacation-in-a-glass vibes. I almost ordered a second, but adulting (and budgeting) called me back to reality. That said, it's worth every sip! I snuck a few bites from my friend's Sweet Berry waffles, and yep--I'm getting that next time!! Light, fruity, tasty!! I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu. Who knows, maybe next time I'll get to sample a few more dishes Seriously though--support local and give this place a try. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience. Between the hidden entrance, intimate setting, and creative drinks, it is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for one of Toronto's more unique bars. The balance of atmosphere, craftsmanship, and service makes it a standout in the city's cocktail scene.

The room is small, intentional, and lovely: intimate seating, a sculptural emerald bar, and an atmosphere drawn from the Japanese cocktail tradition. The aesthetic is precise without being cold, and the candle-warm lighting encourages exactly the kind of unhurried conversation that a well-made cocktail deserves. But the bartenders are the true heart of the place. On the evening of my visit, the two behind the bar moved with a remarkable synchrony -- finishing each other's thoughts, trading warmth and wit in equal measure, drawing guests effortlessly into the orbit of their easy rapport. It is the kind of hospitality that cannot be trained into existence; it is either present or it isn't, and here it is very much present. The cocktail menu is East Asian in its inspiration and genuinely inventive in its execution.

I would not hesitate to come back, but there are some things I would definitely not order again. Not order again: - mozzarella sticks - these were not cheesy, fresh, or flavourful, huge disappointment - prosciutto and zeppole - prosciutto were not very fresh or thinly sliced, weirdly presented with the zeppole on the side Will definitely order again: - heroic dose pasta - the pasta was so fresh, great sauce and plenty of mushrooms (my favourite dish) - NYC spicy rigatoni - really good flavours and the pasta texture was perfect (also homemade) - Caesar salad - so creamy and I think they make the sauce in house bc I tasted a hint of the anchovy umami flavour The pesto pasta was pretty good too. And so were all the pizzas. I can't comment much on the pizzas because I was heavily focused on their homemade pasta. Everyone enjoyed the pizzas though. The only things that was bad were the two appetizers we got. They also offer an extensive list of drinks - beer, wine, cocktails, mocktails. I really like this spot and will definitely be back!
