We just had our 30 year old pool re plastered for the first time. Rhodes did an awesome job! They prepped it in one day and plastered it in one day then began refilling. When it was done we paid the bill. We found them to be a very trustworthy company. The price was less than the other bids and well worth it!!! Thank you Rhoades for a great job done!!! Decent job with the pool, start and finish on time. I had pebblesheen installed, on pebbletec website said to brush the surface multiple times the first 10 days. This is not my first pool, and the job is not perfect but that was expected for any plaster job. They replace the step tiles (I bought the tiles) and most new fittings to match to finish color in pool at no extra charge, even though the tiles were laid not exactly how it was but still look nice. Owner suggested not having to brush the pool as it's not just plaster. If you get pebbletec, brush your pool!... you can look up why you should, I wish I did. I prepaid for pool start up with them, owner said his son who does the start up will do everything, which was a mistake. He's very nice to talk to and very respectful but he doesn't show up when he said he would, didn't understand our system, may be because it's older, and too busy to perform the service. He did part of the start up but didn't finish. I would not suggest getting a pool start up from them, have your trusted pool service provider do it instead. read more

Thoroughly research companies before getting your pool done by Scott Rhoades Pool Plastering. Call the local pool supply distribution centers, National plaster council or even product companies and they will help find you a reputable company. I learned the hard way. I paid right away when the pool was finished and what a mistake that was. I knew right away before the water was filled to the top there were problems. It first started when the crews dumped plaster in my river rock next to the pool and in my pasture where my cattle graze. Right when the water filled there was heavy mottling, uneven surface work, staining, holes, pitting/divots that are still showing up from the crews spikes and improper repairs. Now, there's significant color change in multiple areas from the (improper) sanding and scraping they've done on a 6 month old replaster. I was told by Scott it would all look the same. Additionally, he kept saying what a beautiful pool it was and how he did such a great job. He blamed everything from "improper maintenance" to "it's in the mix of the product and we cant control that". Funny, I just had the rep. from the product company come out and evaluate the pool. I could go on for several pages regarding this guy, his unprofessional attitude, the lies and the craftsmanship of his work. Long story short. It will take an act of congress to get anybody out to your pool for repairs once he's paid. He's a blame shifter and glory grabber. This is one of the worst companies and customer service I've had to deal with. He wont come out to fix my pool once and for all on the job he did. And lastly, he recommended his brother Kirt Rhoades from Lifeguard Pool service to do the startup procedure which was contracted through Scott. He has the same "used car salesman" attitude as Scott and didn't do a proper startup procedure. We had problems with one of his workers and their quality of work as well. I will share just a few of the many pictures I've taken which were within thirty days from the job finishing. Look closely and you will see holes in the plaster, some the size of a penny. Unevenness and staining. I paid for Commercial WHITE Quartz not a product that has a lot of blue and brown spots and streaks everywhere. The rep agreed and showed me what white quartz is supposed to look like. DO NOT HIRE! You will regret it. read more

I wouldn't have a problem recommending this company to replaster a pool. The price was good and the service and product met my expectations. The owner came out for the estimate and was very informative and personable. I also found the office staff friendly when I called. Everything was done on schedule, as explained. There are of course a lot of little details I could give, but no one is going to read a 5000-word essay on Yelp. Buried in there are some reasons I wouldn't give a full 5-stars for my experience, but it's kind of relative, right? For a job this big, I would give them a solid 4-stars on price and overall satisfaction, and that's a very good rating. read more

The initial remodel went very smoothly. We love the outcome! From removing the old plaster and tile to new plaster and tile, 4 days! All of the workers were courteous and hard working! Why the 2 star rating????? One tile in the filter area was missed for grouting! Had ZERO grout and water is getting behind the tile! We called the company to explain and they said they would send someone out to finish it. Had some miscommunications with them but we are moving on now to finishing day..... 1. The worker does NOT arrive at 8 a.m as he said the day before. 2. After a phone call at 1 pm to check, was told he'll arrive in 30 minutes. He arrived 1 hour later. 3. Worker asked if we had an extension cord he could borrow? Um, no we do not. He leaves to purchase one! He is not equipped for this repair? 4. We call Scott, again, and he was totally unprofessional and began explaining: the guy is there now, right? What else do you want me to do? The conversation does not improve. 5. Listen, we just want the job FINISHED! Scott, did you ever stop by to inspect? No. Why can't you take blame for the miscommunication/lack of respect? 6. As I type, the worker is spraying my landscape with the chlorine water being drained from the pool! This guy is clueless! I cannot even watch! 7. We sent Scott a text letting him know of the watering....no response. 8. The worker left without telling us when to refill the pool. I guess we'll wait 24 hours to fill the pool. I also had the foresight to turn the pool filter OFF so it does not suck in air when it was due to turn on in the early morning hours. Thanks guy! So, my overall is: MAKE SURE YOUR POOL IS FINISHED, and top notch, BEFORE you pay! Once you've paid, the cleanup/finishing, is really really poor business. read more

They are the cheapest but for a reason. I asked for auto fill to be installed and tile on the steps. Once the day neither of those were done. They were about to leave when I noticed a hole in my pool from where they had removed a sensor. I guess they didn't think it had to be filled in and my pool would just ignore it. When he called me to tell me they couldn't do the autofill he tried discounting $50. The point about that was if he couldn't do it I would have gone with someone else. The tile on the steps was another $50 discount because they "forgot" and it was too late to do anything. If you hire them make sure you are there watching them like a hawk because they will "forget" and give you a BS discount. Regret getting them just for those 2 things but everything else was good. read more

In early July, Rhoades re-plastered our pool. As part of our project, we included some tiles in the plaster on our steps. While finishing the installation, we pointed out that, unlike the others, one prominent tile appeared to be sunken below the level of the step and the area around it was scuffed and not smooth. The installer said that once the pool was filled it would not be noticeable. The next day the pool was filled and the tile and the area around it was in fact very noticeable, so I called Scott to ask him to come by and look at it. His reaction on the phone was totally inappropriate, angrily yelling that anything they could do would just make it look worse. We should not expect it to be perfect and every pool has tiles that look like that. I was shocked that he refused to even come back to look at our complaint. It is surprising that, when they messed up, the customer gets yelled at for pointing it out and they do nothing to make it right. read more

I would not recommend this company. They left a mess from the time they, drained the guck out of the pool till the plastering was done. They dumped sand, plaster and other debris in the flower beds. Made a poor attempt to clean it up after I complained. They shot plaster in the skimmer and the drain which made them not work properly. They also must have put on a really thin layer of plaster because rust spots where showing through from rebar below. Nice enough people, the owners, but their crews needed more supervision. I guess you get what you pay for, They were cheaper than other estimates and now we know why. read more
