We have now become regulars to their zoom offerings and while not the same as in person, having become familiar with Anya and Ashley, they are both very good about calling us out on adjustments to our form or slacking off. What I like most about these classes is that they always offer an option with some at home equipment if you have it (bands, weights, chairs, balls, etc) or alternative options if you don't have these things. I personally prefer full-body days but I also enjoy showing up to class not knowing what to expect. That element of surprise keeps you on your toes. This is probably more of a thing for classpass users as they don't say what the theme is for each class. Thanks Sweat for keeping me somewhat active during this crazy time.

From day one, he's been engaged, incredibly enthusiastic and clearly loves what he does. I appreciate his energy and creative approaches to agility, flexibility and strength exercises. Max, the owner, was quick to respond to my online inquiry and was able to set me up with two trainers- Mikkie and John. He took time to chat with me about my goals. Shout out to Max for his excellent communication and thought processes for connecting you with particular trainers. John - within seconds, I immediately felt comfortable with John. He always lays out the groundwork for you so you know what to expect. His warmups always get me motivated for what's to come. I love that he is so encouraging and always keeps me on my counts during reps. John is extremely personable, and I truly enjoy our conversations. Mikkie- she has refined my squat game like no other and has pushed me to lift more than I ever expected to. She pushes me in the best way and always gives me opportunities to excel. I truly enjoy her style of training. As a mother of two young children, working out at Powerform has been transformative, to say the least. This has been my time out of the day for myself both mentally and physically. After many years of aimless workouts, I finally feel like I know how to spend my time to get the results I want. I needed to freeze my membership due to a surgery and the owner did not hesitate, even wishing me well on my recovery. At any other studio, I would be charged for such a last minute change. This workout has changed my body more than bodyrok, hot pilates, or any other reformer class has. I even went to a different lagree studio regularly when I moved for a summer and my body changed for the worse only after 3 months-- it really shows you how effective and unique BOLD is. But omg I am too old for the misleading and covert sales attempts First of all, if having you hold a little machine with metal handles was a legit way to measure your physical fitness or cardio strength or lean muscle vs fat, I think on many decades of doctor visits I would have encountered it! This felt like 100 percent an attempt to leverage people's trust in technology and fear of the wellness industries standards too make me buy more services from this gym. Did I mention I'm too old to have a young man and his machine tell me about my body and health goals? They told me when I joined i would get a free personal training session that would tell me how to use machines ( i expressed repeatedly that i don't need help with goal setting, good on that, thanks!) Instead the supposed personal training session was an elaborate sales pitch. Did I mention I'm too old? The trainer had me do some exercises and I guess evaluated something but to get any details on how to use the machines, which I stated many many times was my only reason for the session , I was invited to give up more of my money and time. Luckily, I'm old, so all I wasted was about 3o minutes instead of also spending extra money or having random people with pseudo scientific machines and full in the blank worksheets make me doubt myself and my body. I pulled my back a few weeks in (not related to my workout) and Bita helped me find ways to continue training while stretching and healing my muscles. Her workouts are thoughtful, she takes the time to understand your needs and capabilities, and she injects fun along the way. I've gained 6 lbs of muscle in just 3 months. I've also had a hard time staying consistent in my workouts in the past, but I so enjoy my sessions with Bita that I don't want to miss a single class. High recommend.

I also did health coaching with the owner, Katy, and went to a talk offered by one of the Barre teachers. With these offerings, VITA has changed my relationship with my body for the better. It's always a plus when you can combine torture with pleasure. I love one-off workshop type events vs regularly scheduled programming so when I saw this event on the newsletter, I recruited my friends and off we went. Payment online is a little confusing as is finding and paying for the special events Vs the scheduled on their website. These are under the "soul" category. We did not have to bring anything to class, but towel and water were optional. The sticky mats were provided along with weights and stretching bands. There's even a water dispenser on the wall like they have in airports. The unisex restroom in the back is large and clean. It sits opposite of a daycare room. Parking is street parking or you can park at or take the BART and walk up a few blocks. I had been to vita when they first opened 6+ years ago for a Pilates/yoga/barre class. I remember it being hard, so katy, the owner, who teaches the power classes must have been teaching, and I hadn't been back until now! Make sure to wear your tank top because the room is heated and only gets steamier with the huffing bodies. Otherwise the studio is bright and clean. There is a little merchandise to buy at the front and cubbies for your stuff. We all wiped down our mats after class with the wipes provided. The acoustics are terrible so when the music is on, and people are talking before, and after it gets very that you have to shout. After the 45 minute class, a foldout table was set up in the middle of the room with cubes of cheese, bread, crackers, salami and cups of wine. There was plenty of wine and some nonalcoholic, but the food was wiped clean. The tasting was educational and Katy is as passionate about her cheese pairings as she is about her exercise.
