Great staff!! Excellent food and service!! Favorite place to go to start our weekend!

I stopped for breakfast and was really hungry so I got the lumberjack breakfast. it is not for a lumberjack. It might be for a little kid that's hungry two pieces of bacon that look like they were the kind that you buy pre-cooked and a small slice of ham, about 3" x 4" big and very thin. I was so hungry. I ate lunch about an hour after eating here. The sausage links are brown and serve not good pork sausage links. read more

My favorite is the the skillets or eggs Benedict. My son loves the lumber jack. Food is consistently delicious. Staff welcomes guests as they walk in. Service is quick and friendly. I love this breakfast joint! Great food, great service! I come in and gorgeous Ana already knows what I want. I just come in and they take it from there. I like it because it's close to my house and I'm all about helping out local businesses. And of course Ana's smiling face keeps me coming back almost weekly now. What a gem of a place. A local restaurant owned by hardworking people. I eat here often for the large portions and prompt courteous service. The menu is large with an assortment of options. Coffee is fresh and hot and depending on the morning, food is ready really quickly. Give RG's a shot for breakfast. Solo or meeting someone, you can't go wrong here. read more

Super awesome service; however, it can't make up for the food. The biscuits in the biscuits and gravy likely came out of a bag of frozen dried out biscuits (definitely not freshly made). The gravy was okay, and hash browns are really closer to diced/scalloped potatoes. If you stick to basics like eggs/meat/toast, it's not too bad, but for the price it's not really worth it. read more

Gross - made with LOW quality and cheap ingredients. I ordered eggs Florentine which is a bit like eggs Benedict but with spinach. They put CANNED spinach in the dish. Oh my goodness - I've had eggs Florentine at many places and I have never had canned spinach in it. It was NOT good. I told the waitress, who was very friendly, but she said that the cooks don't know anything and that they were "Mexican hillbillies". I thought that comment was really unprofessional. Sizes are not for any human - they are huge, disgustingly huge, but full of cheap canned and processed foods. You could probably get all of your ingredients from the dollar store and make this at home for less. Hash browns were not good either. I was excited to try something new that opened in the area but the owners clearly do not care about food or quality - not sure why you would go into the food business and open this cruddy place. This is my new go-to breakfast spot in Elkhart. I recently moved here and had not found a good place for breakfast. I liked the homey atmosphere and the food smelled good when we walked in. The staff was all friendly and professional. I had the eggs Benedict Florentine and it was perfect. The hollandaise sauce was good and everything was cooked just right. It was a good value as well. Save your time and money and go somewhere else! Walked in, girls were chatting. One with back to us says follow me under breath didn't realize she was talking to us. Sat down. She wound up being our waitress. Took drink order. That was a wait. Know it was not busy for being Sunday at noonish time. Finally took our order. Food was not flavorful, omelette have made, cheese not fully melted. When delivered asked for refill. Waitress proceeded to help other guess repeatedly than ate food in kitchen til my husband raised my glass. I think you get the picture. Won't go into to what else she forgot through our service. All through our meal the cash register was behind us. Seems this is where most of the waitresses like to hangout and chat about their life and customers. Finally received the checked. I've had 5 breakfasts at RG's and enjoyed every one of them. The bacon & eggs is good, the hash browns with onions is GREAT, the omlets are delicious, and the pancakes are as light as feathers. The waitresses are friendly, courteous and always keep your coffee cup full. ***Then WHY am I giving RG's only a 3 Star Rating??*** you ask. That brings us to my only complaint about the food: the plates are not pre-heated. In fact, the plates are cold. I'll keep going back. It's more than just the ambiance. In my opinion, someone there will SOMEDAY be pre-heating the plates. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon RGs by accident. We love it so much that we go every Sunday after Mass! The service is always 100% and the coffee is strong!!! If you like hometown diners, this is the place for you! We usually get a variation of omelettes or skillets but the Eggs Benedict is to die for and the pancakes are fluffy! read more

I've been here quite a few times. At first it was great. I loved everything especially the mexican omelet. They excel at pancakes. Recently it hasn't been that great. The last time I didn't care for my waitress. I'm not sure if she was new but she had a bad vibe. The gravy still had a raw flour taste in it which I hope was a fluke as I hadn't experienced that there before. I haven't been back since the last time though I won't strike it off my list just yet. Horrible food. Didn't get out whole order and was charged for it. Food was cold. Bland and unflavored. Would of rather had McDonald's.

i live right down the street from the restaurant. i would pass it everyday not knowing what it was about. one day i start craving for pancakes, bacon, and grits and didn't want mcdonald nor burger king so i stopped at rg's pancake house and order my food to go. talking about got home and didn't think twice about anything cause everything i got from there was eaten. yes i would go back and i do go back as much as i can and eat there. i'm so glad i stopped and got food from here. its like a restaurant from heaven because the food is on point. read more
