We'll forgive the service, a waiter called in sick...although large tables were attended to more than ours. The Fatuous was ok, falafel served cold, hummus flavorless, tabbouleh just not good and our dining mates fish wasn't great. This place had it's day, we used to like it, but I think the time has past. Reza's was a go-to favorite when visiting Chicago. After trying out the location in Evanston for the first time after they closed Clark location I would never even think of coming back here again. The server was a very nice lady, very attentive, but the food was absolutely disgusting! From the cold rice on the plate that tasted like they cooked the rice in the rice bag along with the kebabs that lacked flavor and presentation. Do not recommend. read more

Hmm, have always loved Rezas, both in Andersonville and Ohio. Had a couple of great holiday memories with the family - good food, good service. Not sure what's changed but the food still had good flavor; cleanliness was in question; appetizers and soup fresh tasting and good; meat felt dry/ potentially reheated and the service was ok, but inattentive, slow and strangely paced, especially because the restaurant was almost completely empty. We will try again and hope it was a fluke. No other choices for Persian food in the north suburbs. Crossing my fingers that the management/ owner gets its act together. An average experience, but I know Rezas can do better. read more

The food is excellent. However, the manager is horrible. He served main course with dirty dishes still on the table, had to ask him for refills several times, asked us to pay cash and than gave attitude when we didnt have $60 in cash. For my son's birthday we decided to order food from Reza. I ordered the food online. The total was over $180 which included 20% tip and taxes. I live few miles from the Evanston location, so I requested delivery when placing my order. The food arrived on time, and was delicious. I responded to a text I received from them to write a review and I did, but it was through their website. I gave them 5 stars for my order, however 2 days later I got a text from them telling me that my credit card was charged $10 for delivery. I called the restaurant and requested to speak to the manager. The woman who answered the phone said she's the manager. I told her this was an unethical practice to not state the charges on their website when I ordered the food. She promised to credit me for the charges. 2 weeks later, the charge was on my credit card statement. I called again and the same woman answered and said the credit would be for future orders. I promised her that I'm not ordering from them again and decided to call my card company and dispute the charges. I ended up getting the credit back. I decided to go back and edit my 5 stars review, but couldn't since it was through their website. I told them they gained $10, but lost a customer. read more

If you know what Persian food is, never go here, absolutely the worst service, I can't really put into words how terrible it was. Horse radish in the eggplant dish, tortillas for bread? Dirty, ant infestation on food table, cold food. Dirty floor, sticky. Food is terrible flavor. I can't believe we paid $150 for the worst meal of my life. Street food in a third world country was more flavorful and sanitary. I told the waitress about the ants on the soup table. So many ants. She just swept the of the table with her hands and that's it. Left the food still sitting on the table. She didn't even wash her hands. Ice bowl didn't even have a serving utensil. Not covid friendly. The place is deplorable. Don't go to this location. If only I could give zero stars to this joint...First off, lets make this clear, the Rezas in Andersonville is fantastic in every way...Unfortunately this sister restaurant in Evanston is like the kid you want to give back...lol Where to begin? The place smelled bad as soon as you walk in the door...Tables are wobbly...The water had a funny taste...The lemonade tasted like water with lemon juice added in with zero sugar, they ran out of pepsi, baba ganoush appetizer tasted like it was spoiled and the falafel was served cold. Now on to the disgusting entree...The vegetarian feast was horrible in every way...Ive had this many times at Andersonville Rezas and it didnt look or taste or was cooked like this...this dish was water logged with over cooked soggy rice with soggy boiled vegetables with some raisins and walnuts thrown on top and of course served luke warm and with zero seasonings...I took a few bites and asked for the check and a doggy bag (Which I threw into garbage can when i couldnt find a homeless person to give this to)...Cost was like $52 bucks without tip...They should have payed me 50 to eat this garbage...lol Honestly the only good thing about this place was the nice and pleasant waitstaff who all look like they want to be somewhere else and can you blame them having to serve this slop...This poor waitstaff deserves better. In conclusion just stay far away from this place and visit the Andersonville Reza's instead...This Evanston spot was so bad it will be awhile before I can even go eat at Andersonville Rezas in fear of bringing up memories of eating here...Yep it was that bad read more

Wow, what a nice place. The atmosphere and overall vibe is casual and festive. The bright colors give it a light feel. The service is great. Friendly, attentive, eager to please. They have unique cocktails such as the Persian Martini and old stand by as well. They also have a good wine selection. The food is delicious. I started with the dolmeh. Which are grape leaves stuffed with rice, yellow peas, caramelized onions, covered in a tomato and herb sauce. It was delicious. The grape leaves were tender the inside soft and mild the sauce full of flavor, all warm and satisfying. I could have easily had that for my meal. For my main course I had the fesenjan which is simmered chicken breast in a pomegranate and walnut sauce and a side of couscous. The chicken was juicy and tender the sauce a wonderful mix of sweet and savory. It was so good. The couscous was a nice compliment to the chicken with its slightly chewy texture. For dessert I had the bamieh which is apparently a traditional dessert. It was incredibly sweet and had a nice soft texture. Sort of like sponge cake with honey. Additionally I should say all of this food along with the full meal and drinks my husband ordered was very reasonably priced. For a fun, casual, delicious dinner with great service that won't break the bank go here. read more

I was Evanston looking for a place to eat dinner. I saw Reza's and decided to try it. Everything was delicious. The lentil soup was the best I've ever had. I also had the vegetarian feast. There was so much food, I had the rest for lunch the next day. Our waiter Nicholas was friendly, attentive and made wonderful suggestions. I look forward to going to Reza's in Evanston again soon!! read more

So excited that Reza's is now open in Evanston. I love the Andersonville location, and this one is much closer. The food is delicious. To start, we had an herby flatbread with feta and radish. For my entree, I had a kabob combo with lamb and filet mignon. Both were cooked perfectly. The Persian salad is so delicious and refreshing I couldn't stop, and don't even get me started on their potatoes. Heaven. The drinks were on point as well. If there was a zero , I would give zero star. The meat was rotten and the bread had mold on it. Called the manager he was so arrogant and rude, and stated " never hear of mold on the bread". I will never ever order from them again. They charge you for fresh food and they deliver rotten food. mold Is the major cause of liver cancer. read more

Terrible. We ordered carry out and spent about $20-$30 on each meal for exactly 8 people. We will never order from there ever again which is so sad to even have to say. My mother has been going to this restaurant since the 90s at their original location which has now closed down. Makes sense why they closed down, Reza's sucks now. The rice was cheap and definitely wasn't basmati rice. Soft and long grain type of rice and very oily. Worse dill rice I've ever had didn't even taste like dill rice. My order was the Kabob Makhsous. The meat was fine and tasted okay can't complain much there. But the rice dude just ruined the whole meal. I don't wanna eat my grilled meat, that's already nothing special with some terrible rice. I booked a family dinner for 19 at the Reza's and wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was an incredible meal, fantastic service, and a great quiet spot in the resturant for us to congregate as a family. Some very fussy family members even gave the food two thumbs up. We ordered so many things all good but the standouts were all the kebabs, lamb shank, feta appetizer, even the rice was amazing. Went for Father's Day lunch. Was told buffet only but no price posted or at the table. Took our chances based on previous buffet at other locations. What a disappointment. Being a vegetarian, was dismayed at only seeing meat or chicken for all the dishes except for 2 kinds of rice and the ubiquitous hummus and tabouli. The check came and it was $30 per person plus beverage and tip that was added for $78. After complaining to the hostess and then our server, they adjusted it to pay half. That would be pricey for what they offered but fair is fair and I should have asked and viewed the buffet before sitting down. Needless to say I won't be back. Too bad because I love reza's in Andersonville. Buyer beware. read more

Having enjoyed the Reza's other locations, I had happy expectations for the new Evanston location. I was not disappointed. The space is huge. Lots of seating with a large bar area. Our server was delightful. The complimentary pita with feta and parsley was delicious. Our orders included cocktails, perfectly made, filet mignon, lamb, tabbouleh, and baklava. Wonderful, and reasonably priced. Service was a bit slow, but at the time I write this, the location was open for less than two weeks. I'm looking forward to more trips to Evanston. read more

Poor service, poor ambience, and food poisoning... a disappointing first time at an establishment that used to deliver such delicious food in Andersonville and the Loop. The linens were shabby, the service was slow, and the waiter couldn't seem to get my order right. The food simply is not as good as it was in the Chicago locations (with the exception of the tomato soup, which is as delicious as it ever was). The restaurant was out of several items on the menu, and the kitchen substituted random other things for them without checking to see whether this was OK or whether we wanted to change our order. The waiter was very blasé about the kitchen errors and when my husband got food poisoning immediately after dinner, management could not be bothered to acknowledge, let alone check the rest of that suspicious batch of babaganoush. There are plenty of delicious Middle Eastern restaurants on the North Shore: save your money and don't go to Reza's! read more

Reza's in Evanston is a spacious restaurant with excellent service. The vegetarian tomato lentil soup was excellent. The vegetarian Combo was sumptuous I could've ordered that meal twice. We also had the chicken kebab Soltani the strip of seasoned ground chicken was excellent. We We started our meal with a very reasonably priced bottle of Prosecco followed by Italian Chianti . Beautiful restaurant and great staff. I have eaten many times at the Chicago location and always had great meals. Unfortunately, such was not the case with the Evanston. Nothing, except the beef stew, was bad, just tasteless. However, the beef stew was mislabeled on the menu, it should have been called "beef flavored" stew. When I called the manager over and complained. He took a fork and poked around and after much searching he found a piece of meet about the size of pea. Absolutely smashing! We've dined here before at their Andersonville location. Loved it. Then we just happened to drive by and discover they have a location in Evanston -- in the old Pete Millar's steakhouse space. So they are WAY closer to us, now (bonus!). Their food is outstanding. All the meat kabobs, outstanding lamb selections, rice dishes, their tomato soup is to die for... OMG - spectacular, just like the other location. Can't get enough of this place. I absolutely LOVE the food at Reza's. I have been a fan for decades of the City location, AND the food here is just as good. HOWEVER, the ambiance in the old Pete MIller's is not conducive to a pleasant experience. I can handle all the garish painting, but what makes this place somewhere I don't want to go again is the LIGHTING!!!!!! I felt like I was sitting in a school cafeteria!!! I will NOT recommend this place to my friends and will not return. IT IS REALLY SAD as Evanston really needs a place like this. CHANGE THE HARSH LIGHTING. read more

The rice was cold and not fully cooked, the stew had to have been a week old and had to have been warmed in the microwave. The kabob was not good and it had no seasoning.
