Ample parking Came on a Tuesday evening, no wait, and immediately seated. There's also a bar with TV's The server promptly greeted me and took my drink order. While waiting you get chips and salsa. There wasn't much of a wait for my meal and when it came it was well worth it. Everything had flavor, I ordered the shrimp, chicken, and steak fajita. Reminded me of a place I frequent in Philly. My mom and I went for lunch on a Tuesday and were seated and attended to quickly. It was a day off for us so we weren't in a rush, but you could easily get in and out in under an hour if you're on a lunch break. This location is super cute and well laid out. There are tons of booths making it very comfortable and it feels a bit more private. The food was delicious. I ordered the chicken and cheese flautas and my mom got the chicken chimichangas. The chicken for both was tender and really tasty. They also provide a generous portion of sour cream, guacamole, and cheese on the side. Far more than at other places I go. read more

Wow, just wow! Definitely a zero-star experience. Always 'in search of' good Mexican food so I went here in PA without reading the reviews. Was real hungry after a long orientation day at Penn State. Got my usual (2) crispy asada tacos with rice and beans, and I ordered a horchata to go. Drove 7 minutes to the Air B&B with anticipation of a great meal. Totally disappointed! The tacos were not only on a corn tortilla (not a crispy shell), but the corn tortillas were juicy-soggy. I flashed back to my water-taco review in TN. Moving my kid into college at Penn State this past weekend and while shopping we got hungry. We decided to try this place based on the reviews and the no wait . The restaurant is cute and the booths are actually quite private with the high backs. We liked that a lot. They start you off with the obligatory chips and salsa. The chips tasted fresh. My kid had the Pastor burrito (which came with a side of rice and beans) and I had the steak tip burrito. Both were great and we'd try it again. I will never go back again, overpriced, the taco salad was terrible, I couldn't even eat much of it at all a total waste of money, if you like shredded dark chicken, next to no lettuce, no tomatoes, and lots of re-fried beans, lots of sour cream, you might like the salad. I expected something very different. I don't like being told what to tip, we had 6 people, and the tip was added to the receipt! Because technically speaking if it were and you had ordered a burrito, you'd end up eating an "equus asins," donkey, ass or burro from which the name burrito is taken. So let's be up front honest and say that their food is Tex-Mex which is just fine. Tex-Mex is really very good food. For me I just had their Tacos de Carne Asada which consisted of very nicely seasoned thin strips of meat with onion, both some corn and flour tortilla taco shells, a really good sauce and some refried beans. It was all rather good and I was impressed with how nicely the meat was seasoned. As for the restaurant itself, it's spotlessly clean and the staff super friendly. read more

I'm a huge fan of Mexican, so I'm rather shocked that we came a cross a Mexican restaurant that I hadn't been to in State College. It's pretty far, so you'd need to drive or take the bus (sometimes difficult for college goers). The menu was full of long lists, which can be quite overwhelming, but a lot of options. The portion of food was just perfect. Not enough to take home afterwards, but a solid portion for you to eat and enjoy with friends and not feel gross about how fat you feel. read more

So needed some spice and fajita fix and decided to try this place. The fajitas were good, but not to die for. The beans, salad and rice were tasty and seemed fresh on a Tuesday night. They have bottled Mexican coke, Jarritos but didn't have Topo Chico. My issue was everything was kind of low on the spices... I was hoping for cooked In spices not adding hot sauce on top. I had been craving the typical Mexican restaurant food for a while and decided to try this place out. I had expectations that it would be very similar to other restaurants of this nature but was surprisingly disappointed at how bad it was. The service was nice but my dinner was significantly flavorless. There was also a huge crowd and we had to wait 15 min to be seated. That in itself isn't a huge deal but really got my hopes up that it would be tastier than it was. I also think it's kinda crappy to charge for salsa after one refill of salsa.... but I guess they've had issues with people taking advantage of that in the past. The restaurant itself was pretty clean and the waitstaff was pleasant. I did feel super rushed at the end because I guess they had a line or were trying to close (we weren't anywhere near closing time) but they started coming by the table every few minutes while my friend and I were talking to ask us if we needed anything else, but they were so persistent it was clear they wanted us to leave. Surprisingly really good food here. I wasn't that hungry. But what I ordered. I found to have nice rounded flavor. For American style Mexican restaurant this is some of the best I found. The atmosphere and decor was welcoming. And service was on top of things. The menu had a wide selection that it it made it easy to pick something out.They have a bar. We visit often and my go-to is always the crunchy tacos, this is the only place I will eat crunchy tacos! The shredded cheese is amazing!! The decor is fun, bright colors, a lot to look at. The staff is pleasant, starting at the front door. Our glasses stayed full, we were given refills on chips without question. At last, a good Mexican restaurant in State College! The Camarones a la Diabla are excellent - shrimp glazed in a hot and spicy tomato sauce, served with rice, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, and tortillas. Hot enough that you really feel it, without burning out your tongue. The Burrito Cancun is a nicely sized shrimp burrito with green peppers and onions served with melted queso fresco cheese and a spicy red sauce on top and beans and rice on the side. Really good.
