Soggy shell aftermath

Wow, just wow! Definitely a zero-star experience. Always 'in search of' good Mexican food so I went here in PA without reading the reviews. Was real hungry after a long orientation day at Penn State. Got my usual (2) crispy asada tacos with rice and beans, and I ordered a horchata to go. Drove 7 minutes to the Air B&B with anticipation of a great meal. Totally disappointed! The tacos were not only on a corn tortilla (not a crispy shell), but the corn tortillas were juicy-soggy. I flashed back to my water-taco review in TN. This meal cost $22+ and I'd been better off going next door to Taco Bell. The meal overall was expensive, flavorless, and disappointing.

I have sat at the bar and in a booth a few times and every time it's always consistently great food, great service, and great ambiance! The employees always look happy to be there and having a good time! Go try it out! Also, my husband loved the elite so much he started making it at home!

I know, Rey Azteca says authentic Mexican, but it's not. Because technically speaking if it were and you had ordered a burrito, you'd end up eating an "equus asins," donkey, ass or burro from which the name burrito is taken. So let's be up front honest and say that their food is Tex-Mex which is just fine. Tex-Mex is really very good food. For me I just had their Tacos de Carne Asada which consisted of very nicely seasoned thin strips of meat with onion, both some corn and flour tortilla taco shells, a really good sauce and some refried beans. It was all rather good and I was impressed with how nicely the meat was seasoned. As for the restaurant itself, it's spotlessly clean and the staff super friendly.

Taco Veggie Fajita

We were looking for authentic Mexican food while driving through central PA and this was on the way. I got the veggie fajitas which were very fresh and delicious- a combination of zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, green pepper, and onion. My husband got the two enchiladas combo and my kids both got the hard tacos. We were all satisfied! The only downside for me was that the chips weren't warm (though they weren't stale) and my guacamole was a little brown on top. Otherwise would recommend

Tons of specials to chose from.

I'm a huge fan of Mexican, so I'm rather shocked that we came a cross a Mexican restaurant that I hadn't been to in State College. It's pretty far, so you'd need to drive or take the bus (sometimes difficult for college goers). The menu was full of long lists, which can be quite overwhelming, but a lot of options. The portion of food was just perfect. Not enough to take home afterwards, but a solid portion for you to eat and enjoy with friends and not feel gross about how fat you feel.

Solid Mexican food with efficient service and liked the colorful decor. On the expensive side.

I've been a patron of Rey Azteca for years, and it's my go-to for Mexican food. I recommend it to friends who visit the area.

PRO: The food was pretty tasty, the carne asada had a good flavor. The portion size was excellent for the price point. I personally like the fact that the takeout containers have the paper bowl container instead of full plastic. CON: There were some items missing from our order, which I didn't notice until I was already home; I definitely should have checked but again it was Cinco de Mayo in State College. I didn't receive the plantains in my bowl as ordered. Originally, I was frustrated over the missing items because I knew I wasn't driving back and I had paid for them; plus I had a 17yo asking for churros. While I couldn't reach the restaurant last night (again, it's Cinco de Mayo so I understood), I was able to reach their GM Christopher today. He apologized for the mistake, then went above and beyond trying to resolve the issue with our missing items; I really appreciated the effort, which is why I chose 4 stars. The food we did receive was tasty and we hope to try again once downtown is quieter.

I place my order online and inquire at the restaurant when I get there because you're unable to add it to the online order cart. When I get there they say they do have churros and he marked it to being back in stock. I asked why it wasn't available online and he said "I just need to turn it on. You can order it now." I asked if I can get it added to my order since I ordered more than $5 per the promotion. He said no you can just pay for it. Confused why it's being offered as a promotion if they won't actually give it to you. The rice was also hard today so double thumbs down unfortunately

That should have been my first indication to turn right around and exit. I walked up to the counter and asked if they were closed and they said no so I proceeded to the place where you place an order. I stood there for several minutes while the employee behind the counter paced back-and-forth while muttering something to himself. I kept looking at him thinking OK he's going to come take my order. That never happened. I generally like Qdoba and I thought the food was good in the past, but I didn't even get a chance to get any food this time. I sat there for probably twice as long as I should have just wondering what was happening. I don't want to bash anyone but I think he was having a breakdown or is just not all there. With so many restaurants on Atherton I decided to walk away and go get something else. Unfortunately I'd avoid this place until they figure out service. I'd even accept a quick "hang on for just one minute please" while waiting, I had nothing else planned tonight. At least some acknowledgment of a customer would be good, or so one would think.

I had to use my email receipt to go to customer service for chipotle to request a refund
