The back of a carved and painted booth.
Emily B.

Rey Azteca is an oasis in a restaurant desert. The two-sided menu has about every combination of Mexican and Tex-Mex you could think of, including vegetarian options and a variety of shrimp dishes. We really enjoyed the shrimp fajitas we had -- they were extremely generous with the shrimp, which was cooked perfectly. The horchata was tasty, too. And the decor is really fun: the bar chairs and the booths are carved and painted with all kinds of scenes and there's an "Aztec temple" near the entrance. We'll be back!

Service was very good, food was better than anything we have in Williamsport. This place is definitely worth the drive to go visit.

I had my birthday here and they put a sombrero on my head, sang "¡Feliz cumpleaños!" to me, and gave me some fried ice cream.

Drive-through has been closed since I moved to town. Unfortunately now this location is closed as well. Not sure if that is permanent or short term I overheard the staff talking about how this location did not make money. Would love to see this open back up.

There are options to choose from - quesadilla, burrito, bowl, tacos, etc. All orders come with a side of chips and you select your salsa at their salsa station - yes I just said salsa station, that is pretty cool! I don't love building my own items so I wish they had a "base" to add or remove from, but I get the concept. I chose a bowl with rice, black beans, birria - new item, onions, peppers, cheese and sour cream. The bowl was HUGE! I didn't even finish half of it. It was good, but I didn't love the seasoning on the birria sadly... I also tried the chips- crispy and perfect - and all the salsas at the Salsa station. Sadly I didn't really care for any of the salsas, I think it's preference. The restauarant was clean, the employees were friendly and helpful and my experience was quick and casual. So overall I think it's a win. I don't love that the restrooms are directly in front of the entrance door, but not much can be done about that.

I really appreciate the speed and the willingness to bring more free chips! Normally I go straight for the tacos, which are always a hit. The specials on the back of the menu are SO worth checking out for some more unique finds. Today I tried a torta (forgive me forgetting the menu name) with birria that was absolutely fantastic. The combinations are also a great price, especially if you can make it for lunch. Of course, I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention the happy hour. You can get some great deals here and they have an excellent drink selection. Alongside the alcoholic beverages there are also non-alcoholic smoothies with the same flavor options as daiquiris, so great options there too!!

We got seated fairly quickly. I think we lucked out because when we were finished with our meal, there was a line of guests waiting to be seated. While waiting for our server, I could observe the hostess wiping down each menu after it was brought back to the front counter. I appreciate the cleanliness of the establishment. Jacinto was our server. Very polite, attentive, always made sure we had what we needed. Once we placed our order, it did take a little bit to get our main entrees but that was OK since they gave you complimentary chips and salsa. We ordered the cheese dip as an app and they were more than happy to bring more chips when you ran out. Food came out hot and fresh. The kitchen worker raced to our table with our hot plates balanced perfectly between both arms. I guess he's been doing this for quite some time that he didn't need a table caddy to put it on. Although we didn't order guac, they will bring a mobile cart to your table and personally prepare fresh guac for you. The table beside us finished eating, and employees were "all hands on deck" clearing and cleaning the table for the next guests. I'm accustomed to seeing one bus person clean and area and move on to the next. I would eat here again. Plenty to choose from on the menu; a little bit of everything for the pickiest of eaters.
