The burger was that good. Because I want to end on a positive, let me start with negatives: the fries were okay. Normally these are a side dish not worth mentioning but this restaurant makes them a star with a fry menu. ( I humbling suggest they try frying in beef tallow to make it a whole other fry experience). The other critical comment is my French onion soup (on take out) was really cold and we weren't late nor (but for the fries) anything else cold. To give you reference, I microwaved for 1 minute and was still cold and did another 1:30. But it was delicious. Now, why 5 stars? The burgers. My son and I both got the Lancaster burger with horseradish mayo on the side and substituting wagyu. It was heaven. It was perfection. We still think and talk about that burger and any food that makes you miss is worth 5 stars!

The salad is in a smaller bowl (less salad), the food i had is less tasty, seems like they are skimping on ingredients, quality and taste to keep the price as it was while food costs increased. I order only the stir fry and soup and sslad, not sushi. Food is overcooked for a simple stir fry, brown sauce tastes like it was burned (can one burn a sauce?) Veggies were very overcooked, whimpy not firm or semi firm. No wonder there was a noticeable drop in the number of people here for lunch after church on a Sunday. I can no longer highly recommend this establishment. It's gone from very good or great to YUCK in the 10 months I was deployed. However, all the food was really great and I really did enjoy myself. After lunch my daughter took me to the Rusty Rail store and I bought a nice T-shirt. If you do buy a T-shirt, I want to say, while the shirts are great, wash up nice and feel really comfortable, make sure you buy an upsized shirt. Normally I take a large but I decided on an XL and I am glad I did because after washing the XL fits perfectly. And I got to speak with (I think either the manager or owner) about the music they were playing. They were playing songs from my favorite singer, Bob Seger. I have every Bob Seger song he ever published on either, CD, Cassette Tape (yeah, still got one that works), or vinyl record. Told him he needs to check out the Bob Seger song Little Victories. I actually have a vinyl record with just that song. It is the large 78 version. That was a rare find and I actually found that in Germany in the mid 80's. The song says a lot. Anyway, after speaking with the man, my daughter said I could pick out and mix my own six pack of beer. Let me tell you, Rusty Rail makes some really, really fantastic beer. I would have to say my two faovrites are Wolf King, a stout with coffee & oatmeal and the other is Fool's Gold, Peanut Butter Hefeweizen. Oh my God, those two are absolutely great beers. I should be living in Mifflinburg because I would be making a weekly stop at the Rusty Rail. And for all you ex-military people, the Rusty Rail does give a discount to military. I hope my kids take me to the Rusty Rail again next year. Oh, in case I did not say it. The kids took mom and dad to the Rusty Rail and the Wild Animal Sanctuary as a gift for our birthday's and Mother's Day and Father's Day. It just so happens my wife was born on Mother's Day and I was born the day after Father's Day. The atmosphere of the Rusty Rail is great, it is simply a real nice place to socialize. And as a compliment to the Rusty Rail, I want to add this. When I go out to eat, one of the first things I do is use the restroom. Why? To see how clean the restrooms are. If a venu's restrooms are dirty, find another place because if they can't keep the restrooms clean, then they don't care about your food much either. Dinner came out very hot with lovely presentation. Unfortunately, it just didn't have much flavor. It was bland to me & the Hubs. I think this might be an American thing because we are so used to salt and strong flavors when we dine out, however, the food was cooked to perfection. One of the bartenders was very friendly and helpful, while the other one complained about everything and everyone in there. She made it awkward to try to place an order. Regarding the spectacular view: the trees and shrubs have grown over so you need to climb up a hill and through the overgrown grass to see any view. Otherwise you're just looking at a gravel parking lot. It was a nice drive and a nice day but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.
