Kala Khatta is Indian blackberry. There's also rose & orange. It was very generous, but that also meant it spilled easily.  It was certainly too much for 1 person. The ice was coarsely ground & it was a bit too sweet, but the shredded coconut on top was nice. I'm neutral about the colourful jellies.

The businesses that I frequented the most were Burger King, Mark's, McDonalds, Wok of Asia, and Factory Direct. Ever since I have been working from home during this pandemic, I rarely visit this area. After working from home last Wednesday, I needed to head into Mississauga to run an errand, Driving home, I realized that I needed a grocery store. I remembered Panchvati Supermarket. It was a few doors down from Factory Direct. I had never been there. It was time to check it out. I got there just before 7 pm. There is always plenty of parking. I parked and walked in. I was greeted with bins of Indian snacks. I swear that I stood there, looking at all the brightly coloured snack packages, for a good five minutes. I eventually got a bag of bhel mix snacks. I came here to get a hand of bananas. I normally hit Giant Tiger, as prices are the cheapest around. I got more expensive bananas here that came up to just over $3. I was okay shelling out a bit more than usual. I love checking out any grocery store for the first time. The produce section was cool. It's not every day that you see an entire aisle full of huge bags of onions! I also spent a lot of time looking at packaged noodles. Veggie Hakka noodles. Hong Kong spicy garlic noodles. Noodles without onions or garlic. Lots of noodles! I was impressed. It was neat seeing bottles of Horlicks from the UK. I learned from a friend that Indian folks often spell the brand as Horlics. I asked her why the k is dropped. She simply said to mess with you... haha! The spices section is extensive. I have never been so mesmerized looking at every spice package. It was easier for me to figure out what spices I do have at home. While I was lining up, I looked at the hot samosas, spring rolls, and puffs. A man was getting a number of samosas. They smelled so good! I had a friendly cashier. He was competent and worked quickly. I paid using a debit card. I tapped and was done. He bagged my items and handed me my receipt. I wished him a good night and he reciprocated. I have been driving past this supermarket for years. It was nice that I finally dropped by to check it out. It's quite the gem in this nondescript plaza. I'll definitely come back to dive further into the snacks and noodles. (8)

It's a good place in Pickering to get Halal meats and grocery items. The owners are helpful with customers. The food tastes just like home cooked meals. Much of it is made right from the time you place an order. They are on UberEats and DoorDash delivery service. We ordered a mix of Kabul Soup, Samosa, a Bolani, Manto and Ashak. At the last minute I added samosas to the order, meat samosa and potato samosa*. It's supposed to come with 3 pieces of meat samosa and 4 pieces of potato samosa but there was only 1 samosa of each. Minor price discrepancy. Manto is a ground beef dumpling topped with lentils and a garlic yogurt sauce. An order which came with 10 pieces. Ashak also came with 10 pieces of leek dumplings topped with ground beef and garlic yogurt sauce. We also added on got two orders of the Afghani Soup, also called Kabul Soup, which was served hot. It's rich in texture like a porridge and it's quite filling. It's a good soup to warm up with in the cold. The Bolani was superb, soft and fluffy as it melts in your mouth and decent sized portion served with sauce. Will have to return in the future to sample their baked goods.

Inside there on the side they have small restaurant with a siting capacity of upto 20 people. I really like their setup. Today I ordered veg Samosas and Saffron Cashew Burfi. This burfi is a dense condensed milk and cashew nut butter based sweet with a flavour of saffron. Prices are reasonable. Samosas were hot and fresh, served with tamarind chutney and mint chutney, we both loved them. They were not too salty or spicy, they had perfectly balanced flavour. Burfi was chewy and had good flavour of saffron and cashews, and was not overly sweet, just the way I like it. Overall a great experience. Will definitely go back to try their butter chicken and tandoori chicken.

They are located on the east side of Kenedy rd just south of Sandalwood as I said in a grocery store. I have been here before to puck up some of thier huge fabulous veggie samosas but today I picked up some goat curry as well ..they carry a huge variety of Indian sweets and have a great hot table with both veggie and meat choices . Food 5/5 the samosas here are dilicious and huge in size filled with patatoe and pea filling and other ingredients just really nice and filling because how big they are...two of these and most people would have there hunger satisfied. The curry goat was really spicey very tender and loaded with flavour the perfect curry to go over some nice rice... Service 5/5 I always have had great service at this place no complaints.

It seemed to have a bit of a sour edge, so it probably had lemon added. It was good, though it wasn't cold. On the flip side, that meant it wasn't cut with ice either. It was a bit small, though it was described on the receipt as "12 oz. Now bigger qty" so I guess it used to be even smaller. The paan (stuffed betel nut leaf) was actually pretty good - moist & a good mix of flavours, with a maraschino cherry pinned onto its outside with a toothpick. Masala butter pav was pretty good though the bun was soft & not crispy. Small samosa (for which they undercharged me - 20 cents though the menu said it was 25 cents to get you to buy 5 for $1) was actually pretty big. It was ok; though pre-made it still had some crispness. Batataka vada was large but plain & neither crispy nor warm so it wasn't good. The "jumbo" vada pav came in a burger bun. The patty was not crispy because it was pre-made & cold but it still tasted OK. The chutneys were nice. The patty used potato that was a bit coarse but still tasted ok; compressed into the bun the chunkiness of the potato was not so noticeable. The spiciness of the dish hit in the aftertaste especially hard. Some items are only available in "summer", but there's summer and there's summer; when I went sugar cane juice was available but not the ice golla.

Then, we saw a Korean restaurant-like food court inside. The entire environment is very clean and they use a self-serving system. You can order from the machine and pick up from the kitchen counter. We tried the Gamjatang and Chicken Deopbap. Both of them came with side dishes - kimchi and pickled radish. The Gamjatang was excellent! It included three pieces of pork bone that were so tender. I also loved their soup broth and the spice level is perfect for me. The Chicken Deopbap was served on a hot plate, keeping it hot and the bottom of the rice was a bit crispy too. However, I thought it had a little too much oil. If you just want a snack, you can also buy bibimbap in the Galleria. I remember they also had a microwave available for heating it up.

I have tried their falafel as a plate and as a sandwich and it's amazing. Grab a bottle of sinalco or mission with it. Place is tidy and clean, booths are spacious. This is one of the few places that sells samouneh and tandoori bread. I strongly recommend that you grab both to go. The convenient store is cozy, plenty of Assyrian and Iraqi items. Overall an amazing nostalgia trip for me. I strongly recommend it. And I'm surely coming back.

The place was clean & the staff were very polite & accommodating. I ordered the chicken skewer that came with rice & a tomato lentil soup that was delicious! The chicken was hot, tender & fabo! The bread that came with it was made daily & it tasted great. This is a definite do-over for me if not just for the soup & bread alone!! P.S. probably one of the best Hummus I've had in a long time.
