Came here looking for tea but found myself buying other items. Their snacks section is plentiful. I explored this aisle and pleasantly ended up with a basketful of snacks which I purchased at the cashier.

They recently renovated and I think their flow and look is much more refreshed and modern. I came for some Fantuan (rolled purple sticky rice) since it's all the hype lately and was not disappointed at all. For $5 it was delicious and so worth it! Always love their hot food section, but recently I found that their home diffuser and skincare/ makeup section also has a large variety to choose from. Overall, a great spot to shop for your groceries and has something for everyone.

But this time I went in. It is a medium-sized grocery store but large for an Asian one. The store is clean. The many shelves are fully and neatly stocked. They have all the typical Chinese products plus a few western products. They also have Japanese and Korean products. Prices are ok, some lower, some higher. It took me a while before I noticed there is a refrigerated room with seafood and meats, at the back of the store. Some seafood is available fresh/live while others (like shrimp) are stocked on ice with shells on them. The various meats are cut/sliced. There are some frozen products there too. If you are buying less than $30, you have to pay by cash. If you are buying more than $30, you can use a credit card.

I needed to pick up a few grocery items. I could kill two birds with one stone. Aside: I've heard that this saying angers animal activists and I should say, "Mash two potatoes with a fork." But, wouldn't veggie activists be upset now? I had no problem finding this supermarket. It was brightly lit when the sun was set at around 6 pm on a Tuesday night. I found a parking spot relatively close to the main entrance and backed my car in. I then walked into the supermarket. I love visiting a new supermarket. I always feel comfortable in one, no matter where I am. I felt the same thing here. The produce section was amazing. It was vast and looked impeccable. I picked up celery that was flawless and wrapped in plastic wrap. I also got a huge avocado. I found Tagpuan straight ahead when I walked into the store. It's a great addition to a Filipino supermarket. The seafood section is impressive. There were huge tanks of fish. There was so much to look at, from pear mango drinks, to huge jackfruit. I didn't walk the entire supermarket, but I want to return to do just that. I was hungry, so I fetched my dinner and a few groceries before checking out. I had a friendly woman at the cashout area. My items were less than $10. I was paying with a debit card, which meant that a 25-cent charge was added to my grocery total. I was good with it. I don't carry cash during a pandemic and it was such a negligible cost. The woman bagged my items. I thanked her and left with my dinner and groceries. I enjoyed coming here. I'll need to check out the chicharron and snacks next time. I have a feeling that the selection is pretty good, judging from how the produce section looked and was. (74)

After the event was over, I did some browsing around the supermarket before I left. It was my first time at any Galleria Supermarket. Think T&T Supermarket, but with Korean goods. I dig supermarkets and this one was cool. It's funny that I pass by the Galleria on Steeles Avenue West, just west of Yonge Street, every week after work. I've never gone in there, mainly because I'd have to do a left turn from Steeles Avenue West. When leaving this place, I'd need to do a left turn without a set of traffic lights. Otherwise, I'd have to do the around-the-block set of right turns. It's just seems so inconvenient. If I were heading westbound, I'd have better luck. I do like this Galleria. There was a lot of parking. I am also familiar with the area, with California Sandwiches around the corner. I saw massive tubs of kimchi. When you see so many varieties of kimchi and the vessels to have it ferment if you make your own, you know that you're in a good supermarket with everything that you need. I liked seeing travel utensil kits with chopsticks, spoons, and more. I got stuck in the housewares section, looking at plates, bowls, kettles, frying pans, rice cookers, and more. I love small appliances. It was so tough tearing myself out of this part of the store. I had a can of Sac Sac from the event. It had peeled grapes in it. It was so good that I know I'll return to this supermarket just for this product alone. So good! I frankly would like to live in this supermarket. It has heat-and-eat items. Came this morning to window shop and was so pleasantly surprised we canceled our original lunch…read moreorder and stayed to eat. They had so many tasting stations and I tried persimmon before it got soft for the first time and really enjoyed it. We also found some spicy raw crabs, which were very reasonably priced and tasty. They also had sashimi grade frozen hamachi which could be thawed and immediately eaten. All the station ladies were really friendly and it wasn't crowded with K-pop playing. Very glad we dropped by today.

Great deals on fruit, vegetables, meats and noodles. If you like seafood (i do not) there's lots of that, too. Its always busy, but the staff while not very talkative, will get you through the check out in a jiff. My go to is the frozen beef slices for salad rolls and mint leaves to top it off. Its pretty run down, but you're there for the no frills aspect of it. Worth the trip!
