The breakfast buffet was good, but at $22.95 is a bit expensive. They let you put your own cheese on the eggs which is fun. I've never seen that before. I like a lot of cheese and they never put enough cheese on but I did! Because I like cheese. One of the elevators was down, but you can easily use another one in a different place to get to your room, no problem. Parking is $10/night which is annoying, make sure to pick up your permit at the front desk. There's a huge, spacious lot, there's no reason to charge $10/night to park. If parking were free, this would be five stars since everything else was wonderful. But it's not so it's four stars. Still good.

I spent this weekend hitting Diamond status at two very different properties. First, a shoutout to…read morethe Tru by Hilton Ashburn. Regardless of status, they treat guests like gold. The service is awesome, there's zero "nickel and diming," and we even received a lovely welcome basket. Truly a seamless experience. Unfortunately, the Hilton Christiana was a massive disappointment. We've stayed here for years, but under GM Brad Wenger, the culture has shifted toward extreme nickel-and-diming. Despite being Diamond members on a paid stay, we were charged an early arrival fee (for getting there just 30 minutes early) and a parking fee. To make matters worse, we gave up our confirmed Executive Queen room to get in early, and the room they gave us was subpar: right next to a noisy elevator, a broken shower, and no tissues. It's clear management is prioritizing fees over loyalty. Save your money and stick with the Tru.

Since my mother's passing he has become somewhat of a regular and dined here one maybe twice a week. The club was probably built in the 1960s based upon the design and layout. It's nice but dated. The veranda offers a really nice view of the golf course. On summer evenings it's adds to the usual pleasant dining experience. I have been here numerous times over the course of the last few years. They offer their regular standard dining fare (steak, chicken & fish) and offer daily, weekly and weekend specials. The food is good with some dishes being really good and others mediocre. The service here is very attentive as you would expect a country club to be towards the members. The bar area is nice and they have an ample selection of specialty drinks, wines, domestic & imported beers along with a few local craft beers selections. Overall it's an okay venue. The food is usually good and the service is quick and attentive. Most importantly they take care of my dad here which is a big plus.
