It was a beautiful evening so we started out with a walk down to the water and a look see of the vineyards. Next we went to the tasting room and found we were the only people there. The Tasting Room server was very friendly and got us all set up at a long table with flight cards. I ordered a white flight and all were very refreshing and delicious, my favorite being the Pinot Blanc which had notes of lemon zest, peach and orange rind. Very very tasty. The flight of four was $25 with generous pours. Next we moved into the restaurant area for our dinner reservation. Isabelle provided exceptional service and was attentive and friendly. The Harvest Caesar Salad (salads are safe again, y'all!) was very interesting. It looked nothing like a traditional Caesar and was phenomenal. Isabelle explained the chef does some sort of magic with the cheese. Wow! Several of us ordered the Rockfish entree which was described as being pan prepared and encrusted with blue and yellow corn. It came with saffron rice, asparagus and tomatillo relish. I don't even know what words can do this dish justice other than a simple, "OMG!" I would describe it as tasting, "earthy," and I mean that as the highest compliment. We finished off with a Key Lime Cheesecake which was smooth and flavorful. Isabelle then humored us with our request for group photos then we went outside to enjoy the huge patio swing at sunset. We really didn't expect to fall in love with it the way that we did, but it really checked all of our boxes. We loved that we could plan a beautiful outdoor garden ceremony, but they still offered an equally beautiful rain plan inside the gorgeous mansion. We loved the gigantic bridal and groom suites with perfect natural light and gorgeous decor. We loved that our cocktail hour could utilize both the outdoor patio and the first floor rooms of the beautiful mansion. We loved that the tent has a permanent floor and comes with decorative lights and chandeliers. We especially loved that the Delaware location allows it to be tax free! After our initial walkthrough, we really knew that Bellevue Hall was the right choice for us. The planning process was a bit challenging due to staffing changes within the venue and at JAM. Our primary contacts switched multiple times, and at times it was challenging to get in contact with someone. We were lucky to have our own wedding planner who was persistent in her follow-up calls and in making sure none of our details were missed, so it did work out, and our eventual assigned JAM planner, Nicole, was very sweet. Our actual wedding day was perfect, and the mansion and flowering gardens were the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. Our tent looked beautiful as well. I can't wait to see our full gallery of photos from our photographer. Bellevue Hall works exclusively with JAM Catering whose food was one of the highlights of the evening. It was important to us to offer food that was flavorful, not boring, and they really delivered. Our hors d'oeuvres were delicious, our custom Rhubarb Gin Fizz signature drink was delightful, and our entrees were well cooked and well seasoned. I especially appreciated that they offer a variety of unique vegetarian entrees --- the black bean cake was scrumptious and so much better than the bland cheese pasta I've seen at other weddings. They also included our cake in the package, which was both beautiful and delicious. All in all, we were very happy with our choice to get married at the gorgeous Bellevue Hall.

I didn't want the bartenders filling wine to the top of the glass or pouring more then 1 shot per drink. This was reiterated at least 3 times and was written in the contract. I sent a drink list to the owner a week prior to the event. The day of the event I was surprised to see no one drinking the holiday martinis on the list that was sent over a week prior to the event. I was informed by my guest that the bartenders had no idea how to make a martini and they were told to make the drink with ice in a wine glass. They said a martini is never shaken? I bought all the supplies and alcohol to make the drinks I requestdd and I was disappointed to hear from my guests that the drinks made were undrinkable.
