My favorite was the light-up floor where you have to hit the blue squares without touching any of the red ones. It was definitely one of the more fun and challenging rooms! It was a little busy when we went, so we did have to wait for some of the more popular rooms. Luckily, there were always other rooms open that we hadn't tried yet, so we could do those and come back to the busier ones later. I will say it was a little pricey for what it is, especially since some of the rooms aren't super high-tech, but overall it was still a really fun activity and I'm glad I got to experience it. The workers were also really nice and helpful. There are a lot of fun photo opportunities throughout the place, including a few with professional cameras that were completely free! They even emailed the photos to us afterward, which was a nice touch. Overall, it's a fun activity to do with friends, and I'd definitely recommend checking it out at least once!

I've been to a few places in the ballpark of this before (Activate, Level 99). This place has a good amount of rooms, and a good blend of purely physical, and purely mental, so enough to satisfy any range of talents in your group, and flexibly so across rooms. Even with a few other groups in the building, we only had to wait a handful of times, and it was on the order of seconds. I came last time right after opening in October, and this time, many of the games were very much replay-able and fun with a new group! Not sure about coming back more frequently though-- I imagine that I'd have to similarly come back with some time in between or with enough new people to keep it novel enough to be fun. Some games are malfunctioning due to some unruly guests going way too hard, but otherwise, the staff are super helpful and are willing to help out to get games up and running for you again, or to give you tips on games if you're struggling to get a 100 score. A fun evening for sure! You'll leave a bit tired!

The game was super interactive and immersive, be prepared to sweat, because it's surprisingly physical! However, we ran into quite a few technical issues that took away from the overall experience. The game paused 5 to 6 times, and we had various other problems as well. At one point, my cousin's screen went completely blank, and our headphones stopped working midway through the game. These issues made it hard to stay engaged, even though the staff did their best to help. There's a lot of potential here, and once they work out the bugs, it could be a really fun and memorable activity. But right now, just be aware that it might come with a few hiccups.

She was awarded the James Beard Scholarship and will soon graduate from the Drexel Culinary Arts program. But don't let the fresh face fool you. Her experience in the restaurant industry starts from a young age. With local Pennsylvania Dutch roots, she's worked in numerous restaurants and has a passion for sustainable agriculture and sourcing ingredients from local farmers. She's also involved with LocalStove, which provides subscription-based meal prep planning or catering. For CozyMeal, Chef Renee's base of operations is the open kitchen at Good Food Flats. With a gorgeous tablescape and place settings all ready, I knew all I had to do was pop open a bottle of wine and relax. After a brief introduction, Chef had us join in on the prep for the meal. My friend Sembat got to work on chopping up some shallots while I went after the onion. This was all for the base of a nice red sauce, with both fresh vine-ripened and canned tomatoes. Touch of sugar, salt, and herbs and it was good to go. There was also plenty left for us to take home in several jars! Chef Renee then cooked up some arborio rice to make risotto. With this cooled, we helped roll out some rice balls with bread crumbs, which were then deftly fried to give us our first course - arancini with homemade red sauce. Delicious! I was excited for our next dish. Having had Vetri's spinach gnocchi several times, I actually attempted a recreation a few months back. That was definitely a fail, with the gnocchi turning out rock hard. But having Chef Renee provide me with proper instruction, we were able to create a rustic and fluffy iteration, with ricotta and fresh spinach coming through. The browned butter and Parmesan helped to create a salty bite that was simply delicious. Definitely helped myself to seconds of this. For dessert, a quick 15 to 20-minute baked olive oil cake was all we needed. Crispy on the outside and fluffy within, we had a lot of fun plating our own dishes. We even made homemade whipped cream and topped it all with powdered sugar and slivered orange slices. Bellisimo! Be sure to check out the CozyMeal options available in Philadelphia. Apart from the Italian Recipes cooking class with Chef Renee, she also has cooking classes for Dim Sum, Mexican, and French fare as well. CozyMeal is expanding quickly and appears to be a great way for folks to amp up date night or provide a creative way to host friends.

It was only me, my wife, and two daughters so we got a personal tour. He said it would take about 90 minutes, but we were with him for over 2 hours. While you don't actually go into any of the historical places Mike is very knowledgeable about the history of the venues. He was funny and very enthusiastic. He took us to the usual historical stops and then up to Society Hill and on to South St. We saw things we otherwise would not have seen if when we ventured out on our own. Did I mention that he walks backwards about 90% of the time so you can hear his voice? I highly recommend Free and Friendly Tours. While they don't charge they accept tips.

Mark, our guide, was outgoing and able to offer fun stories along the way. And recommendations for lunch at the end of tour. If you are looking for a scholarly history lesson, I wouldn't recommend this tour company. But if you want a more laid back approach to learning the history of Philly, this tour will fit the bill. The Colonial Cheesesteak tour covers a lot of the landmarks in Old City from Ben Franklin's grave to spots along Independence Historic National Park and into neighborhoods that lead to South Street. Just remember if you go on this tour or the others they offer, you can email them ahead or show up since they don't have a registration process currently. And it's true the tour is free, but a tip is encouraged.
