Got to learn a lot of history about the Italian market area and got to learn some more history too since I really like history. Jacquie was able to tie some of its history to Vietnamese-American history that I relate to so she's super knowledgeable! Great that she had some stories to share as well. All the places we went to to sample some of the food or see the processes were all great too. We got to try out some square pizza, try some cheese and nut pairings, taste some interesting olive oils, and have a tasty truffle treat at the end. All the employees at these stops were very nice and definitely knew Jacquie well. Definitely need to try another food tour when I'm back. Really recommend her food tours!

They were very accommodating and had amazing customer service. The tour was absolutely amazing. Mink was our tour guide and Kim joined us after our second stop. They were both very knowledgeable and helped us to navigate all the amazing places in China Town. Their vision of bringing people together through food is truly amazing. Both Mink and Kim are passionate about their mission. They know all of the great spots and help you to feel more confident in China Town. Definitely doing another tour with them. This is a must!

If you need to use the restroom before the Tour, use the one in the Betsy Ross House because the one in the Starbucks across the street didn't have any toilet paper. We had a very big group but Toni kept us all together. She is such a gem - a much better storyteller than the Tour guide from the Independence Hall. This tour with Toni made up for the anticlimactic one from the Independence Hall. She was very thoughtful and made sure we always stopped in the shade since it was a very hot day. Her stories were entertaining and engaging. I loved all the historical snippets she'd give us about the timeperiod of the founding fathers. We got so lucky because Benjamin Franklin's printing press was finally opened after a 10-year closure. Such a great addition to The Tour. You donate whatever you want at the end and I would highly recommend it if you're in Philly.

We started at the Betsy Ross house where we stayed outside for about 15 minutes. We went to elfreth's alley where we spent close to 30 minutes learning about the Trinity style architecture and lots more. We walked to the courtyard of the Ben Franklin museum. He also gave us the lowdown on where to go for the best cheesesteaks. It's pay what you wish and overall gives a great introduction to the city.

In fact, you don't even need to get off the bus. The sandwiches have been pre-ordered and are delivered to the bus. It's extremely nice, especially when it's raining, extremely cold, or hot and humid. You always have the option of getting off and stretching your legs, catching a glimpse of the restaurant, etc. The tour has 5 stops and you are asked to rate different components (meat, cheese, bread) at each stop. The tour guide listens to the feedback and alters stops on the tour periodically based upon the feedback. Stops on this tour included Sonny's, Campo's, Jim's, Pat's, and Geno's. We also stopped at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and got to climb up the Rocky steps. Our tour guide, Nina (also the owner of the company), passed along all sorts of her knowledge about the city as we drove past various monuments and buildings. I highly recommend this tour when visiting Philadelphia. You'll walk away stuffed; not only did we receive the 5 samples, Nina also had a local goodie bag for us (Herr's potato chips, Tastykake).

He shared with us that he is a retired University professor and Philadelphia native. He loves this city and it showed! We learned about the history of one of the oldest markets in the US (over 100 years old) and sampled some items along the way. We also saw street art and learned more about the history of the City, William Penn's plan for a "utopian" type society and the legendary "curse of William Penn." The Penn statue on top of City Hall used to be the highest point in Philadelphia until the 1980's when the mayor alllowed skyscrapers in. The legend goes that after that, all the Philly sports teams had a losing streak until a worker on one of the new tallest buildings added a mini statue of Penn to the top, then the teams started to win again. On our tour, we sampled... Sesame seed sprinkled fresh bread (with no preservatives) Italian cookie drizzled with chocolate. Aged Balsamic Vinegar, Fig Vinegar and Coconut flavored White Balsalmic Vinegar Special cheese (can't remember the name) coupled with spiced cashews Fresh (made today) Tortilla chips and fresh tomato salsa from a shop where the owners are from Central Mexico Mandarin orange from the produce stand Plus we got 10% off when we purchased additional items at the vendors we passed for being on the tour.

Over the course of 2-3 hours, we walked around South Philly with our very informative and friendly guide. We tasted bites at several different businesses in the neighborhood: donuts, bánh mì, tacos, horchata, whitefish salad, pastrami smoked salmon, mini ricotta cannoli, and a little wine! Along the way, we learned about each business and their histories. One of the businesses we visited has been open for well over 100 years, others opened in the last few years. All of them have great stories - about why the owners make the food they make, why they opened their restaurants - amazing success stories. Over the course of the tour, we also learned so much about South Philly - the history of immigration to the neighborhood, the story of businesses that helped newly arrived immigrants feel at home, acclimate, find work, or have a taste of home, information about how the neighborhood has changed over time. I learned a ton. Ate a ton (all delicious). I love food, but food often tastes even better when told with a story. And that's what Tiny Table is all about - food and its context and history. Our tour started from Columbus Blvd and went through Northern Liberties and Chinatown! I was nervous to go in the streets in the beginning, but once I got my confidence I was enjoying the tour as well as the ease the we went through the neighborhoods! It is a museum, part of the Colonial Germantown Historic District. -Wikipedia This house is extremely well preserved, and you can easily make a day of visiting this house and the Germantown White House (this is where President Washington lived before the house we refer to as today's White House was built) which is within walking distance.
