When I went to pick up the suv, I had to point out areas that were still dirty. He pointed out some wear and tear which I understood. He had kids doing the cleaning and they overlooked areas...for $375.00 nothing should have been overlooked....I had to ask about the stains that wouldn't come out which should have been pointed out when I picked up the vehicle. Didn't seem to care that I had questions....I'd look elsewhere.

Sides and back of steering wheel still dirty. Ring from a drink left on the top glass. Have found a couple of almonds, etc. down side of passenger seat - so not fully cleaned there either. Perhaps if I'd had more time and spotted everything then, think they would have made another pass on more of it. But really want a detailer to be thorough and professional. A pro knows these areas need cleaning, and knows how to do it. And definitely someone who knows what to look for should inspect the car and declare it clean or send staff back before saying it's ready. As a customer I'd have to have a "check-it" list in the future to see if everything that should have been cleaned was.

They also allowed for me to take my vehicle elsewhere to go out for a second opinion. No pressure, just calm reasoning. I felt very comfortable with their service. I dropped my car off on 9/15 for the next day appointment on a Tuesday. Monday I call for an update. Sadly, it was not one I wanted. My car is a 2024 with only 22k miles on it. Fairly new. They informed me that Thursday, they found it dead. No notification to me. Use the jumpstart button. Can't. We locked the car and can't get in. Bring an extra key. I only have a fob not a blade. It won't work. Yes it will. I drive up there 7pm at night. See? Don't work. Next day, how are we going to handle this? After several thoughts and ideas, a locksmith was needed to come break into my car for they do not store a break in tool kit in their facility. To continue, September 26, I requested the supplemental list of parts and labor after being told my job would be one day and only 2 1/2 hours. Why don't I have my car? List shows my bumper is coming from Bangor, ME 10/25. I called my Hyundai dealer, he could have a bumper from the warehouse in 2 days or if I needed one today I could get it. Thank you. I let them know. They stated no, it wasn't the bumper. It was the reinforcement beam that was going to be late. All parts will be here tomorrow. A few days later, I called to check in. I was informed that my car will be postponed several weeks due to my insurance company not approving the supplement or further work. I call my insurance adjuster, she states how I'm being treated is unacceptable. That the way insurance claims work is the open the job with the body shop. When the car is done? They submit the bill to the insurance agency to be paid. My insurance adjuster called Ben's auto body. I get a call shortly after. My car will be done by the end of the week. After that point my adjuster was working as an advocate between myself and the shop. Monday, 10/6, I received a call from Ben's auto body. They gave my car to a different technician who was faster and would get the job done quickly. My adjuster agreed that it would be done by Wednesday. 10/8, my insurance agent calls me and tells me my car is in for detail and calibration. I asked if I could have it tonight? She informed me I could call the shop and find out. There was nothing more that she could do. I call, to my dismay, I'm informed the technician working on my car has been out All week and my car hasn't been touched. Disgusted. Completely. Disgusted. All I want is my car back. 10/9 I get up in the morning and drive up to Ben's. My car is still in the position and spot it's been in for days. I took a picture to show a friend of mine. He noticed that an electronic control device with wires were left unprotected out in the rain all night due to the bumper not covering them. If, if it doesn't cause complications now....what will my bill be in the future due to water getting into it? Every shop I've known other than this one always protected the electrical. Epic fail. I've been in the automotive industry for over 30 years. Never have I heard so much contradictory statements from each service member yet, having no work done at all. To give me a snide attitude when I call. Such disregard for customer service and expect me to write a rave review? I think not. I will not recommend Ben's Auto Body or have interest of doing business with them. If you would enjoy losing your car for weeks on end? Being Misinformed, misguided and misled? Runs and Drives Nice, Heated Leather, Sunroof, Power Windows, Mirrors, Locks, Seats, Cruise Control, Aftermarket Radio with Wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, Nice Tires, a great deal you do not want to pass up!" Mind you, I'm well are it says "Sold as is". When I got to the shop, it had a March 2026 inspection sticker on it that was from that shop as I was told. He then proceeded to inform me that the sticker would be scraped because it didn't pass emissions for a code "P0128" which is the engines coolant temperature is below the normal regulating temperature. Easy fix, had done this on my last Saab so was not worried about it whatsoever. I had asked the worker at least 5 times if that was the code he pulled and he said yes. 2 days later, I come to find out after taking it to get a proper inspection done by me, that it actually was the engine code P0463, which involved the fuel level circuit reading "high voltage" which is a LOT more of an extensive and EXPENSIVE job to repair. If he had just been honest and straight up about the actual code, I wouldn't have bothered with this car knowing how much of a pain in the ass that code takes to fix. If you plan on buying a car from there, make sure you bring a reader to check for any engine codes, and DO NOT just take his word for accountability. If I could leave ZERO stars I would.
