I visited Revive for the first time and was paired up with Amore. I had come in asking for a trim and root coverage. Upon arrival, my hair length was almost down to my behind . When I left , my hair barely touched my shoulders. I had specifically stated ,multiple times , to keep the length. I left in tears and embarrassed. If you come here , make sure you get someone with experience and someone who listens. Very unprofessional place. I went for a short haircut and specified with the person who did the scheduling to schedule my appointment with a hairstylist that new how to do a short haircut. The hairstylist that gave me the haircut did not know how to cut hair. When I left, since I had my hair blowdried did not notice what a horrible job she had done. My hair its very uneven, it looks like I tried to do the haircut myself. Very disappointed. If you guys can not do a job simply explain it to the customer. A horrible experience. I was left with longer on one side and shorter on the other and long hair pieces. read more

Salons are not normally my scene, and I was concerned about the current safety situation, but I called the salon beforehand to check the precautions in place. The business put forth a lot of efforts to keep customers safe. Like many salons right now, Revive is booking by appointment only, no walk-ins. They had an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser at the reception desk, and there were sheets of plastic between chairs. The space is very big, and there were only one or two other customers in with me during my appointment. Everyone wore masks, and my stylist was thoughtful enough to offer me an extra disposable mask to switch to so that my cloth mask wouldn't get stained by hair dye, which I hadn't even considered. I got a basic cut and color. Kayla was my stylist. She was both friendly and skilled, and made me feel comfortable. My hair came out very well, and Kayla complimented the color several times. The salon's interior decoration is pretty lovely, tastefully decorated with a chandelier in the middle of the room. You might not expect this, since Revive is located in a strip mall, tucked away near Five Guys. Also worth noting, my stylist mentioned that the staff was like a family and was big on teamwork, which I could see throughout my visit. Overall, a very pleasant experience with great results, and a very compelling argument for a once-or-twice-a-year-at-a-bargain-cutter-haircut-getter like me to switch over to regular primping and pampering. read more

If I could give this salon 0 stars I would. What happened here should have NEVER happened. Right from the jump extremely rude and unprofessional. The stylist Kayla texted me at 10:15 asking if I could come in at 11 when the appointment was scheduled for 10:30 because she "woke up late." 1. When I get there, she sits me down and asks what service I would like to have done. I told her I have a dry scalp due to the dry weather at the moment and I would like to do a scalp treament. 2. She starts washing and putting the treatment in my hair while asking me really personal questions making me feel highly uncomfortable. On top of that, she took a call from her PERSONAL CELL PHONE while also saying vulgarities and joking around with other employees. 3. Once she finishes washing my hair, she proceeds to start blowing my hair out, but then has the UNMITIGATED GALL to assume that I have HEAD LICE without showing me the "lice". They actually made me pay for the service and I left with my hair not even close to finished. I told her from the jump that I had a dry scalp. Also, If I had lice, why didn't she show me while combing my hair when she was putting the treatment in? 4. She then proceeds to tell me to go to target to get a clarifying shampoo called Surface, which has also has synthetic fragrance in it which can lead to hair loss! I was so distraught that I drove 2 hours to go to another salon and they said there was nothing there. I have attempted to reach out to the owner of the salon but to no avail. The treatment that I received at this salon is absolutely DISGUSTING and UNPROFESSIONAL. Kayla was the most unhelpful, and rude stylist I have ever met. read more

This is the best salon in Syracuse. I have searched so long for a great salon, and I have experience some terrible ones but finally came across this one and now the search is over. Finally a salon who has so much experience and knows what they are doing. They always give the best recommendations and just do such a fabulous job. I always go to Christina, she is amazing. I trust her so much to do my hair because I know it will come out perfect, the knowledge she has is phenomenal. The salon itself is new and beautiful. I will never go to another salon again. Would recommend to anyone! And trust me I have had some terrible experiences at other salons. Thankfully Revive was able to fix all of the mistakes of other salons. Today was my first time at the salon. Daniela was my daughter hair stylist she was great. She did a awesome Job. My daughter loved how she did her hair she was happy and excited it how her hair came out. I will recommend Daniela, to anyone that's looking for a good hairstyle. read more

I scheduled an appointment for highlights a week prior to my appointment. I had initially booked online for Saturday May 1. I got a phone call about 20 minutes later by someone at Revive who said the salon would be closed for the weekend for training and that someone named Ruby could take me on Friday April 30th. She confirmed that I wanted highlights. She even asked me if I wanted a hair cut and I said NO a because I was growing my hair. She then called a second time to confirm again that I wanted highlights, I said yes, and she then confirmed the time and the date as Friday April 30th. Today I went in for my apt. Met Ruby she took me to her station where she asked what we were doing. I showed her a pic of what I wanted, she told me "I don't have time for highlights." I said well that's I booked for. She said she had me down for color and cut. So somewhere in the appointment process the woman who called me twice screwed up what I wanted done. So when I explained that to Ruby she rudely said "well, I don't know who you spoke to"? Like that matters? I mean the point is that someone screwed up and scheduled me for color not highlights like I wanted. Ruby said I can reschedule you... I said no thanks. If a salon can't even book proper appointments, I don't want to deal with them. I think the women at Revive salon need some customer service training to say the least. Needless to say they lost me and my daughter and my daughters sister in law as clients. They must be pretty busy to be able to afford to lose that many clients for being rude and unprofessional! This place is not closed it's open! I've grown up in a salon setting my entire life as my dad is a hairstylist and owns a salon back home in NYC. I always used to find myself miserable at hair appointments often lasting more than 3 hours but the staff does an awesome job making me feel comfortable with lattes and hot towels while I profess. Amanda is gods gift to hair! She is an amazing and intuitive stylist. From the moment you sit in her chair she makes you feel like a queen. If you are looking for a stylist who listens and is consistent EVERY SINGLE TIME, make your appointment, you won't be disappointed. The salon is modern, clean and minimalistic.
